I have used 240lcd density can i just run the update again and edit the install text or do i need to wipe.the device and start again?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App 1.9.0 DJ_Steve
You should not need to wipe just to make that change.
Change the install.txt file and then just re-flash 1.9.0
Just open build.prop found in system (you can find it using Root explorer) in a text editor and edit the
value ro.sf.lcd_density=160 to 240 or whichever one you prefer.
Awesome thanks for that.

I was wondering if it's possible to change
windowsmgr.max_events_per_s?
via adb or some other way that doesn't include opening the rom up and having to re-sign it.

I added it through estrong explorer in the system/boot.prop file, last entry. Rebooted to recovery, wipe dalvik and reboot. Works fine. You need to enable root options in estrongs to modify the file... Hope that helps.

Attached is a zip file with framework-res.apk and services.odex.
I don't have clockwork or steak recovery loaded at the moment. You can easily copy these files on to your phone in system/framework
1. Make sure to make a backup of your framework-res.apk in same location.
2. Make sure to make a backup of services.odex in the same location.
3. Using root explorer or other app, paste these files into system/framework
Your phone should reboot after a second or two.. Then it should come up with the new theme.
If your phone gets stuck at the dell logo.. Download and install DroidExplorer. Connect your phone to your pc via usb, if you have the right drivers installed you should be able to access the system/framework folder and delete my files and rename your files back. Reboot and if all goes well your back to square one. if not you will have to reflash.
This is only for 318 and will not work on 315 or any other roms that I know of.
I take no responsibility if this bricks your phone, you download as is and chose to load it on to your phone.
Special thanks to Mambo04 for Ginger graphics and battery meter graphics
GingerMixv4 for I9000
Special thanks to Odyseus for modded Services.odex and black status bar
Black Taskbars thread for 318
Hope you like it, like I do.
(If original content owners want this removed, let me know.)
ok i will try when i downgrade to 2.1
you need to root to change theese files bro.
Yes you need to root and it is 2.2 froyo, not 2.1
Doesn't everyone root?

U need to sign the apk and making it in signed zip file something like that else clockworkmod wont read it.... I tried to do it but didnt work..maybe someone with expertise can lead us...
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
1-) back up the framework and service file
2-) copy the zip contents to system/framework
3-) reboot
Result : Nothing changed.
ROM : Original 2.2 Dell Rom
Tried With : EU Streak 318
What is the file size of your framework and mine?
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
i am using original 2.2 rom and framework-res.apk and system.odex are not in the folder you wrote there ?
the files need to be placed in the system/framework folder.
I think the issue here is that I took that framework-res.apk off of my phone and then altered it. I think it is just signed for my particular phone.
Could also be an issue where you may have to flash using adb and adjust the rights accordingly.
Wish it worked for you guys.
If you want, I can post a zip of what you would need to drag and drop into your own framework-res.apk.
i am connecting with droid explorer and no files in system framework folder if u want i can send screenshot too. i am not a noob bro
not saying that you are a noob.
It takes droidexplorer anywhere from 2-5 minutes to show all files in my framework folder.
I also only use droidexplorer incase of emergency. I like using root explorer directly on the phone to copy and paste over.
mine is faster i think.
i said "i am not a noob" for telling i can do everything what you want.
btw : Scenshot from system/framework folder

Android system is the framework-res.apk. for some reason that is how it comes up in Droid explorer
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
just tried to copy paste but get read-only file system error.
by the way i tried with root explorer cant touch system/framework folder.
Is it possible?
for example if I would like to change to "Ubuntu" font.
do I have to remove the native font with the new one? Would the font show properly?
yes it is check this app:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/type-fresh-change-fonts-on-your-rooted-android-device/
also if the font that you mentioned, the ubuntu one is a .zip and it has inside the META-INF folder that means you can install that .zip from recovery.
i suggest you this fonts too:

ITS PRETTY NICE!
Oh, man, thanks very much!!!
I'll give it a try
didn't think that it's so easy!

Does Type Fresh work on stock 2.1 with root and busybox?
I tried Custom Font Changer but it failed to work.
I don't know. I have 2.3.3
Hello i have changed to font changer app for root users only because it has the screen display tool wich is very nice and works perfectly in my 2.1 custom ROM.
Once you run the app it will create a folder named .fontchanger in your sdcard, then extract the fonts (.ttf format for android) to that folder, go back to the app menu>> refresh and voila you will now see the fonts, install one it will reboot let it load completely give it 3 minutes after the boot and you are ready to go.
I repeat this app is for root users you need busy box too

Hey,
I know this might be a nooby question but my moboot screen won't change when I flash a custom splash screen to it. When I do it in either ROM manager or clockwork recovery it gives me an error message saying that the file can't be unzipped. I can post the error message if need be.

I was having a similar problem. I just had to find an alternate mooboot.background.zip.
Then, when you put in your custom 1024x768 tga file, you most overwrite the one within the zip, but you have to make sure to select 'STORE' instead of compress.
This is my current boot folder, I see the custom moboot files in it but still nothing is happening
Sent from the one touchpad to rule them all
Well not sure this will help on cwm or not, but my image file is saved as a TGA file. It should look something like: moboot.background.tga but I use twrp with goo-manager. Tc

I've deleted all the custom files and reflashed them, they saved as tga files but still no custom moboot screen

It is already set to false
I downloaded the package from the link here and checked it out.
I have changed it to "true" now.
Attached the file.
I am unable to recompile the phone.apk some java error. If anyone willing and replace this file.
1. Unzip
2. Replace the bools.xml in \res\values
3. Recompile
4. Push in system
5. Reboot
Need help: Someone who can recompile this phone.apk with the updated bools.xml file.
Easier fix... use miui ROM instead

well i tested with apktool the value in bools.xml by default set to true so i set it to flase. (extracted phone.apk from our cm7 rom) but while recompling getting the same error as u got. can someone test with it "apk multi tool". currently im in slow connection so cant download the tool. i suppose apk multi tool will work. in previous i work with apk multi tool where apk tool fails for recompiling.
Ok i managed the phone.apk. its working now. Mute is successfully enable during call. I will attach the file later.

Dont Install it.
Replace the original phone.apk in system/apps via root explorer.
Backup orignal file before this.
And reboot.
Note: Do this only if you are on CM7

Its better to push it via adb or push it in the main rom file and flash it. If u use it via root explorer u cant change the permission cause it will giving force closes as soon as u replace the ofiginal.
I wld recommend it to push it via adb or insert the apk file into the cm7 rom system/app zip file l
Overwrite it and flash via cwm. in this way u will not face force closes due to permission error.
