your Kratzer must be a scratch
you can put a displaycover on it. (you will see small scratches anymore)
please don't use anything of displaypolish... you will destroy your touchscreen foil.
use everytime a displaycover (one foil is in-box), if you don't use it, you will get angry everytime !

Hallo !
Thank you very much for your advise.
I will give it a try.
Best greetings
MR
is there a way to remove scratches on a screen that isn't touch? not for the HD but for any other regular phone?

i got a scratch on mine as well with the stylus right down the middle , but the screen cover that comes with the hd is rubbish , so i bought 1 off ebay but i can still see the scratch underneath it but id rather have that than get more scratches
i did see on 1 site which sold displex that it is compatible with the touch hd(which i didnt believe as every other site that sells doesnt say about touch hd compatible

You might not get anymore, but you can still see the scratch that you had before.
I first just want to get rid of the scratch, before putting the displaycover on it.
There must be some polish. I heared there's even one for the Iphone.
Mine is the same - one scratch but now I have the cover on and can still of course see the scratch.
Would love to get rid of it but all the polish type scratch removers are abrasive and they're meant to be a bad idea on touchscreens.
Need some product that fills the scratch instead.

Well, the iPhone has a glass capacitive screen, a completely different thing. I'm pretty sure you can use a polish on that, but our resistive screens are much more delicate and I wouldn't take the risk.
I'm a simple amateur. Please, don't criticize my rustical methods. I did the best I could.
I could'nt separate the screen from the housing: too tight!! (I bought the two pieces and I replaced both)
Hope it helps someone
Nice Thanks mate!

Nice Video.
Hopefully I will never need to take mine apart.
And here you are the reassembly.
Look in first post
you're welcome
Nice stuff
I'm gonna follow your video as a guide next time I change the housing.
Thanks!
How about Dust isn't there a risk of having dust stuck between the digitizer and lcd? isn't it the same risk as in aplying screen protection. I tried several time aplying screen protector but never succeed without having dust particle stuck in between even though it's allmost unnoticable.
What's your experiance in this ?

That's what I feared and that's why I put on the gloves and I was careful to clean the internal part of the screen before the assembly.
It may be a very small particle of dust, but I can't really see it.
Very nice tutorial. I guess i have to change my digitizer too sometime in the future because it has a defect (these newton rings) and i dont know how long it will work with this defect. I'm sure your videos will help me.

The device works ok. At the beginning I had to realign the screen. Few days ago I realized that the screen had the oil stain (the device was working perfectly), and I made it disappear with a tape.
what if the part I purchased doesn't come with the metal surrounding. Only the glass do you use glue to stick it on the chassi ? any tips on this issue before taking my phone apart ? or you recomend to send back the glass and get the whole front? Thank for the video it must have taken you some time to edit.

I heard that many people has broken the original digitizer trying to separate it from the housing.
That's why I bought both pieces.
But I also heard that is possible to separate them, being very careful. But it's a risk. And I heard too that you can use any kind of glue, including the one we used at school.
I hope that I have understood your question.
Thanks for you greatefulness!
very usefull tutorial
I have bought me a touch diamond 2, with a pretty damaged housing
now I dare to try to replace it, thanks to you're tutorial
First, thank you for your useful guide, but i missed something.
What about the light sensor cover (it's at the opposite side of the power LED). Is it included in the new housing? Because i didn't find it on the new housing that I bought (may be because it is not an OEM?)
Thanx in advance!

How did you realign the screen? I tried to use the calibration utility but I it goes into an endless loop. tried to re-assemble but got the same result
Any ideas what might be wrong?

Sorry, voxter.
I realign the screen using the app included in settings (Settings > System > Screen > Align Screen).
I read in other thread that you tried without success (just endless bucle). I had endless bucle too in another ROM. But after two or three times I made a soft reset and the screen begun to work perfectly.
Now I have a Tess ROM and only asked me to repeat it twice. After that, the screen works perfectly.
It's all that I know about it. Hope it helps
i need help since im on a kind of a hurry.
i have an x10a, unlocked rooter and cm6.1.2 i think, i have a terrible battery life with the 3g data network activated now.
because of that i need to know how to optimize the battery and the phone itself as soon as possible cuz i just got a white x10 for my gf and i want it to be froyo or gb and since she is a USER i want to give her a fully fuctional phone with a decent battery life (vs a bb lol easy).
i havent done a big search but the help its welcomed, i need to fix those phones
EDIT: there is a film over the screen of the xperia, that is an original screen protector or what? i want to change it since its pretty battered by my pocket but i dont know if its something important or just a screen shield
its a plastic film find a corner and gently pull it up and behold the pretty glass underneath

i ve watch some videos on youtube how to dissemble the phone and it looks pretty easy.
my question is... how do i get my screen out and transfer it to the new brazel? and is it easy to remove the black outer screen from the screen itself?

it will be a ***** to unglue your screen from your black (i guess it is black) current housing w/o breaking it. you need a special oven to do so. like the one that service centers have. so in my opinion do not do it.
Just wondring if you did this yet?? Im looking at doing the same. I did it with my original SGS and it wasn't difficult. Love to hear how you got on
Hey all,
I have "Chromed" the Cover of my Titan and have made some pics during the procedure.
The whole process took me 2:20 hours and I must admit that I like the result but check it out!!
I used 400, 240, 120, and 40 gr Paper, to make the finish I used the 40, the others you can choose what you like most, 400 gr takes longer to remove the color but is more accurate and soft to the cover, I used after 1 hour to take only 240 and 120 because it took too long...
The first picture left shows all materials I had used, don't forget to stick the plastic pieces and the buttons!!!!
The pictures are in an chronological order from left to right so first starts left and the final result is on the right.
hey that looks real good, found a chip on the cover so might have to perform this at some points, what are the numbers you quote is that the type of paper
It is abrasive paper which is used dry to take things like colours from surfaces away you can find it in any store which sells construction articles
can you please post some more pics of the phone?? maybe 360 tour?? thanks

Looks like an iPhone 2G now haha
well done!
That being said, i'm glad mine doesnt look like that
When I've done this, I didn't compared to an iphone , I am very glad that I have an Windows phone which is -at my opinion a lot better then Ios ^^.
I did it because I don't like black, so it's at least partly gone.

You like the finish of the 40 grit? Seems like it might look pretty nice with 1500 grit, then some polish to bring it to a mirror like finish.

I dont lik the mirror-finish, I did it to my HD2 and after some time it wasn't so mirror-like as it was in the begining.
maybe it's a language thing but this is called polishing not chroming
you can't chrome anything without literally dipping it in chrome.
I'd love to see a white case for the titan. Do you think, that this is possible?
you could polish it to give a shiny feel to it.. check out the sensation forums they did something similar also
just saw you dont like it lol
Hehehe, nice work , also u can paint your HTC ))

Or paint stripping?
I am using it some months now and it is still good, but sometimes I have to clean some traces of fingerprints which come from time to time
