Please post your max CPU overclocking speed, as well as advice, Kernels, etc. you are using..
I am using aospCMod, setting max CPU in cyanogenmod performance settings, and the max stable speed I'm getting to is 787 MHz..
Is there any Kernel that will support higher speeds?
Thanks

It's not about the kernel . It already supports up to 864mhz. Your chip can't handle higher freq because of vdrop .
Anyway I get up to 806 on void and now I am waiting for andy to release oc for Ginger 2.3.2 and see the maximum there
I get 768 max on Mik's CM7 rom. My old Optimus used to get 787 but ever since my replacement I can't go any higher. It really is true that it depends on the actual phone and how high it will allow you to go so there is going to be a lot of different results and no definite way to show one person how to obtain a higher OC.
768 Stable. Can run up to 806 if I only use regular apps. Games are of a different story, so I guess 806 isn't stable for me.
don't we have the same processor as HTC legend? How come it can overclock up to 1.2?
Hello
I can get 806MHz but my phone car't handle it for long so about 787MHz is stable for me.
But a tip I've found is if your using the ( setcpu ) app to overclock your phone is Have a profile so when you've put your phone to sleep set it so the max frequency is 320MHz.
It boosts your battery life.
806 max on Mik's CM7 rom, no crashes or lock ups.
My best is 600Mhz ...........
I can't install custom roms....
729 mhz with same power. I don't want my processor to **** on battery life

I get kernel panics past 729. Setcpu profile for 600 with screen off.

I use max 729 ondemand and it's stable. I intend to use this phone for 1-2 years, so not even going to consider setting the cpu any higher. Plenty of speed this way.

LGP500H from Telus unlocked and using on Bell network.
CM7 GB2.3.3 from Mik_os Kernel 2.6.32.9
OC to Max. 787
Min. 245
Running perfect, no panic at all.
Stable at 787/122 - Interactive governor but I use SetCPU profiles and only do 729 on battery down to 60% then drop to 600/122 after that.
Stock ROM w/Mik's kernal.
With megatron rom....default 729.....can handle 768 in performance mode.....I m happy with megatron v1
(2.2) but will be waiting for cm7 and Andy s builts go bug free though.....but for sure that happens we will be waiting for megatron v2 (2.3.3)

If you have been a t-mobile customer for 60 days and have $10 in your prepaid account, you can call and have them unlock the phone. Say you are going overseas and need it to be unlocked. However, you should be aware that your phone will run at 3G speeds with t-mobile and throughout the world. However, the phone does not support 3G speeds with ATT. ATT uses different frequencies for 3g. Your phone will work on att, just not at 3G speeds.
If they say that the optimus is not listed, ask them to submit the unlock request anyway and indicate the phone is an Optimus if the comment section. 2 agents I talked to said the Optimus was not on the form they submit to the unlock department. However, the second agent indicated that it was an Optimus T in the comment section and submitted the form to the unlock department. I received my code 24 hours later.
PS New to the site and can not post link.
SIM Unlock Code
For information on the SIM Unlock Code, refer to the following:
If you purchased a wireless phone from T-Mobile, your phone has been programmed with a SIM lock which will prevent the phone from operating with other compatible wireless telephone carrier’s services. If you wish to use the phone with the service of another wireless telephone carrier, you must enter a numeric SIM Unlock Code to unlock the phone.
For customers with a T-Mobile Postpaid Plan, T-Mobile will provide the SIM Unlock Code upon request to eligible customers, provided the requesting customer has a minimum of 40 days of active service with T-Mobile.
For customers with a T-Mobile Prepaid Plan, T-Mobile will provide the SIM Unlock Code upon request to eligible customers, provided the requesting customer has a minimum of 60 days of active service with T-Mobile and either a Prepaid Plan account balance of at least $10.00 or a prior refill within the last 30 days.
T-Mobile will provide the SIM Unlock Code upon request to eligible former customers, provided that T-Mobile has such code or can obtain it from the manufacturer.
You may request the SIM Unlock Code for your phone, together with instructions for entering the code, by calling T-Mobile customer care at 1-800-937-8997.

Does the battery life reduce a lot if overclocked to 729?

What kind of download and upload speeds should i expect if i purchase a Bell Atrix and unlock it for Rogers? Will it be a significant decrease, even if HSPUA is still disabled?

Using this on Fido...
HSPUA definately disabled on the handset therefore upload speed is 300kb max.
which blows donkey balls, but this is according to speed test.
When I upload something through another app I have gotten better speeds, but still nothing as a regular HSPUA-enabled phone.
nothin is confirm yet but just for kicks!
For all the verizon and sprint users! Would you still buy this phone, if no LTE or WIMAX?
Since they want to keep the Form-factor of the original SGS2
The poll excludes Tmobile and ATT user, since im sure theres 4g for them.
Yes

Definitely, I'd rather have HSDPA+ and good battery life than LTE and terrible battery life.
I would much rather have Verizon's LTE (if this phone comes out in time before they kill the unlimited data plans in the summer) but I will still buy the T-Mobile version with 21 Mbps HSPA+. However I refuse to buy AT&T (no unlimited data, no free tethering) or Sprint (service and speeds are terrible in my area and in buildings even in NYC).
Yeah. LTE is expensive and not available in my area.
Probably not, as I'm in an LTE area.
With VzW's aggressive LTE rollout plan, I think it's going to be problematical for them to sell high-end phones not capable of supporting it. Those phones will have a very short shelf life and fail miserably in VzW's largest markets.
i'll prefer 3G+4G it's more universal than WiMax technology
No LTE = no thank you. The Verizon version better have LTE, or I'm guaranteed to be waiting for HTC's flagship dual-core LTE product.
3G has always been enough for me, and I'm sure that once 4G starts to become a more natural and everyday thing, if I ever go back to 3G I'll be like "Damn this is slow". But as of now the 3G is enough for me and it has HSPA+ or whatever the **** is, which is not 4G, but a faster 3G, and AT&T has that.
Also, I have been on AT&T for not even a year yet(before then I had T-Mobile for a long while) but I was lucky enough to get onto it just a while before they stopped the unlimited data plan, and so now I am grandfathered into it. So anyone just now looking to join AT&T, I'd see why you don't want to, but for me it's great. (This part was kinda directed to the guy who said he wouldn't buy AT&T.)
Anyways my point is this is one of the fastest and thinnest and best smartphones so far and probably for the year. There are some other phones that can compete, but this definitely kills anything I've seen. Just look at that flash performance! Straight in the browser, watch a video, or whatever, no lag. I could really care less when it comes out, as I have to wait till June anyways for my 1 year upgrade(which I hope is not too expensive, since AT&T seemed to raise the price on that) but if it's not out by June that's okay with me too because I know it will come soon afterwards and I can be one of the first to get it!
But guys the S2 with LTE has a 1.5 Ghz Dual-Core processor. Reason for this is due to the addition of the LTE, so If you are not going to use LTE then wouldn't that mean you get 1.5 Ghz for your apps processing requirements ?
Wouldn't it be better to get the 1.5 Ghz version rather than 1.2 Ghz version ?

Yes that's what I meant, so don't you think we will be able to use all the 1.5Ghz goodness .(Under the condition we are not using the LTE at the time). for our apps ?
Right now on speed test I am currently getting an average of 300 kbps download and 100 kbps upload. Is this normal as I hear users on the same network are getting above 1000 kbps download speeds. I even tried the 3G Network Enhancements from Perceval from Hyrule and that didn't even work.

i too is getting horrible speeds especially when tethering, im starting to lag more often now unlike before i never had such problem
Can't speak to AT&T's (in)famously congested network but...
At&t? There's your problem
I don't think it's an issue with the X10. My X10 (no 3g mods but on TMO-usa) pulls anywhere from 2600 to 4540 down and 600 to 1238 up from my home (70-80 ms).
It has more to do with the tower you're pulling data from (and any network restrictions).
AT&T in the bay? You are doomed. You live in a notoriously congested no data zone from AT&T. I range from 1000 - 3500 down and 200 - 1000 up in the Portland, Oregon. Perceval from Hyrule's tweeks didn't work for me either.
Weird, I average 2000 to 3000 download speeds on my Inspire in the same area. I guess H+ uses a different tower.
Went to Vegas and tested the speeds on my X10 and still getting the same results.

I just got a tested download speed of 2.35Mbps. Not too bad.
I'm in Riverside County (Southern California), and I have an AT&T X10A running Sony Ericsson's generic world 2.1 X10A build:
- Firmware 2.1-update1
- Baseband 2.1.54
- Kernel 2.6.29
- Build 2.1.A.0.435
I've made no data speed tweaks in the build.prop file.
wats ur baseband?
I switched to the new at&t baseband (.65) and my speeds dropped to 300 on every rom i tried.
I switched backed to generic x10a with the .54 baseband and my speeds went back up to over 1000

Ok Guys We are definately onto something here and I hope to test the theory, The story starts like this, I bought a s1 a while back and was using it on three uk, every day at 3pm it got throttled down to 30k a sec, pathetic, well About 2 weeks ago I acquired a ascend p1, Got it home slapped my sim card in it got to three oclock no throttle ! I thought it must be because the phone supported 21Mbps download so was faster and thought no more of it, but every now and then the internet would crash for about a minute or 2, so I installed logcat and got the output and it was mentioning android/server/throttleservice as the culprit, well I got peeved with this so 4 days ago I got the s3 because I thought it too would be not throttled because it supported the same speed 21Mbps , well it got to 3 oclock and band throttled again, now its all starting to make sense, I think the network is able to tell if you are tethering or using a hotspot as the phone is telling it by accessing phone state in the same way as any other app,
flashing this zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346680 saw a huge increase in speed but still got throttled
QUOTE : "Can anybody tell me what is wrong?" Nothing ThrottleService is not part of your app and the error is not intended to concern you. It's a system service that seems to be able to throttle the network traffic (I guess for testing) – zapl Nov 29 '12 at 18:57

This has happened to me when I accidentally removed the following line from the manifest:
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_ST ATE" />
Once I added it back there everything came back to normal.
I hope this helps.
Source: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...-network-stats
Was my 1st clue
this was my second http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057344
this is the logcat of the ascend p1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2127311
it was not throttled even on a stock Rom !
To test this theory I'm asking if somebody could be good enough make a flashable zip of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057344 for any s3 rom to test the theory? this could make a huge difference to network speeds, as I say the ascend is not throttled in any way and thats got to be code based. the only thing is that the flashable zip must be for that particular Rom as they aren't generic.
Three uk throttle there speeds between 3pm and 12am. They use a 'technology called SpeedSense. Basically if you are using a lot of bandwith they restrict your speeds to ensure those that havent really used they bandwith to do so. There is nothing we can do as a device because it is all done by your number and tge amount of bandwidth that you have used.

So my contract is up in two days and I am looking at switching to a Net10 AT&T prepaid SIM service... Any real concerns or issues? I am on latest firmware and radios and running Infection 2.9.1 ROM.
Anybody doing this, comments or wish you had done it differently?
Probably going to pull the trigger in this today unless any red flags go up.
BTW, number porting is not an issue. I'm just going to move my VZW number to Google Voice once everything is working properly.
EDIT: ordered SIM and $50 unlimited card, should be here tomorrow. Hope all goes well...

The Rezound out of the box supports the 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands, which are used internationally for 3G and HSPA+. In the US, AT&T uses the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz bands, and T-Mobile uses 1700 MHz and 1900 MHz. The Rezound is great as a global phone, but it's always been limited to EDGE data in the US. This has never changed with firmware and radio updates.
The methods in the thread referenced earlier will let you get the 850 MHz band working with a very non-optimized, weak signal. That means you'll sometimes have 3G or HSPA+ on AT&T. But unless someone figures out how to optimize the signal there, you're probably still going to be stuck with EDGE most of the time.

I don't think anyone is going to find a way to optimize it for a stable connection for a while. The thread has been very quiet for a while now. Some users did get different results and I read through the thread and some people got better signal using a calibrated sensation nv file.

Hmmm... Unfortunately it appears this isn't going to work as I hoped.
What's working: Voice and SMS out of the box... MMS, Data (2G Edge, speeds in the range of 15k to 50K) with some tweaking in the APN settings.
I tried the tweaks in the other thread and changing the NV settings, it would say it connected at HSPA+ and pull an IP address, but even with the AT&T tower less than a 1/2 mile in direct line of sight from my office window it would never open a web page or work with any app that required a network connection and signal strength was in the nether regions according to Network Signal Info.
Oh well... guess it was worth a shot.

Pretty sure I got everything right. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get everything to work on 2g , and I was able to pull an IP address when it said HSPA, I just couldn't stay connected or get any data through. Spent about 2 or 3 hours working on it this afternoon and finally gave up.
