Hey all, i need help installing a custom kernel. I dont quite understand what i need to do. Am running Wolfbreaks CM and under his post, there were instructions to install baseband 52 and patch before installing kernel. I am currently on baseband 54. Do i just flash the kernel or do i still have to install baseband 52 over my mod?

You should flash the correct baseband using flash tool. Then do an xrec backup. Flash the custom kernel you want to use using xrecovery and reboot. You can verify that you are running the custom kernel by going to the about phone section of settings. If you choose to revert to the stock kernel you can restore your previous backup using xrecovery

So flashtool is the only way to flash baseband? And i install the kernel via xrecovery like normal? Thanks.

Thanks but i have another question. by the end of flashing custom kernel, i should be having baseband .52 with custom kernel and running wolfbreak's custom rom. Will there be any incompatibility? Cause i was having baseband probs an hour ago and just reflashed WB's rom. Will there be no problems? Or should i flash yet a new baseband after custom kernel installation? like .58 or .54?
EDIT2: Apparently i was having probs with direct update to v06..had to go with increments from v54 to be on the safe side..trying for the last time today to get that kernel on..
flash baseband with flashtool and custom kernel with xrec its easy bro
I have a quick question about this recovery. Do u flash this over xrecovery with xrecovery?
I know about the .52 baseband it must be on. So some help will be great. I would love to flash the new 2.2 pure cyanogen ROM kxhawkins and try its speed.

I am not new to clockwork mod and i have used it before but the only problem is, i can't get clockwork mod to work on my stock 2.6.32.9 kernel. it wont boot into it. is there any way i can run it on my kernel with an older version? or if you could, suggest a SMOOTH rom for me to download?
I suggest bi-winning, its a 2.2.1 rom but has a lot of nice mods and many themes available. Go to WWW.edtdev.com to get it

Well, you could also flash baseband via LGMDP. Use The search button for that
But I got so sick and tired of old baseband which gave me random reboots and bad quality. I am now using miks GSM patch on CMO. Your choice
