Hi! Recently I downgraded my X10i to R2BA026 for some testing purposes and now I can't make or receive calls. I've upgraded again to official 2.1 but still the same problem. Now I'm back in 1.6 R2BA026 with 1.1.31 baseband, could this be caused by the baseband?
Any idea on this?
OK, got solved. I did a factory reset and everything is working again.

False positive, it's not solved. I tried with my simcard and it worked, but then I went to a friend and tried with his simcard from another operator and it can't make/receive phone calls.
The phone is imei unlocked, so it has nothing to do with that. I can't figure out what is happening, so please if you have any idea tell me something.
Well, and what happens when You try to make a call?
We need more info mate..
So I suggest you edit your OP with the correct and necessary info as:
what happens when you try to make a call?
what message or sound do the other people hear when try to call you?
can you send/receive texts?
Have you got signal at all?
What about 3g/2g connection? Wifi?
Please update your OP with necessary info. So we can try to help...

By factory reset, you mean via phone or SEUS? If phone, you should try through SEUS...
Is it a Xperia HD? If it is, maybe that's the reason as it comes pre loaded with 2.1, might not be compatible with 1.6

The curious thing about this is that I tried with my simcard and at first it failed but after a factory reset it then worked, but with the friends simcard it does not work even if I do a factory reset again.
It seems like a baseband problem...
At first I thought maybe it was a problem with your unlocking, as yours SIM card works and your friends does not, but I don't think that's even possible to screw with a unlocking unless ur on an Iphone lol...
I would try to reflash it through SEUS, as it will install correct baseband, and most likely solve your problem...
Or flash this through flashtool:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YMZDSUK0
It has the rom and correct baseband included...
But I would try to use SEUS first as it is easier and will give you the most updated baseband/rom...

My tip for newbies:
Flash the newest 2.1 firmware (.435)
Then flash using flashtool baseband .54 or .58.
And everything should work.
Here is a logcat from the device with oficial spanish generic 1.6 R1FA016 BB 1.0.16 firmware (why I'm in so old firm here).
Now I'm going to update via SEUS to latest firm and test and take another logcat. I'll put it here asap.

But this wifi problem of yours, it shouldnt happen, have u considered that u might have a faulty device?? You might try Blade wifi fix from market... install it, reboot and try to connect...
Anyways, have you tried a custom rom? If it is a 2.1 rom problem, you might try a 2.2 one...
I personally use MIUI 2.2, and works very well, I will never go back to a 2.1 rom again...
Can you specify the aprox time that you have made the call? so when im home, I can go exactly to the spot...
Sorry, I can't remember the exact time of the call. I've updated to 2.1 2.1.A.0.435 BB 2.1.54 and with my sim it is actually making/receiving calls and sms. I'll try with another operators sims when have the oportunity.
Wifi is not working well, I'm able to switch it on and connect, but I lasts for about 2-3 minutes and then I can't continue surfing. Btw the phone becomes slower and sometimes wifi settings FCs.
About custom roms, I have tried some of them with same result.
And yes, maybe it is faulty, but I want to try anything and all before I have to send it to repair.
Looking at your logcat and couldn't find the root of the problem, but I did see some APN errors, maybe because you have disabled the data traffic.
I also saw A LOT of AudioHardware failures when an outgoing call is taking place...
EDIT: found some errors regarding a null sim card
Don't know the root of your problem, and those error might not even be related to each other, but there is definitely a general failure on your rom during a call...
But now that it is working, we need to fix this Wifi issue u have...
Have you tried blade Wifi fix, from market? I had a similar problem with a 2.2 rom and this application solved it...
And, as always, post a logcat on the wifi issue...
It might be too much for my intermediate programming skills, but it might grab the attention of someone more experienced to help you...

Hello,
You are probably reading this because you are having an issue after installing zdzihu's freex10 - beta 4 ROM, that is, you have no network service (you can't make any calls).
I am opening this thread to address this issue, and open up discussion on how to fix this. I have been searching threads for a whole week now, and still have not been able to fix this issue.
I have tried EVERYTHING: opening an adb shell and issuing the "killall servicemanager" command. As well have tried different installation methods.
I have also tried manually entering Roger's APN (access point name), but it won't save....
Everything is working perfectly after the installation (wifi, camera, gps, apps all work) except I can't get any service.
Phone Specs:
Model Number: X10a
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: 2.0.46
Kernel: 2.6.29 ([email protected]#1)
Build Number: 2.0.A.0.504
Carrier: Rogers
UPDATE: I have fixed the problem and currently running freex10 beta 4 with full service. This is how i did it, very simple and easy actually. If you are having the No Service problem, simply do this:
Connect your X10 to SUES (Sony Ericsson Suit)
Repair your device by following the instructions on SEUS
Once you've done that, then go back and get your root access, xrecovery, and do exactly what it says to do on the freex10 thread.
After you've successfully updates to 2.2 again, everything should be working!
If you have any more questions, please ask me, because I have tried everything and finally found it. Good Luck.

Hey A.J,
I haven't used this phone in a while, I've switched to a SGSII. But I found a site that may be able to help you.
http://www.technipages.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10-hard-reset.html
Just read all of the instructions first, make sure you have all the software you need, and hopefully it will work for you!
EDIT: I recommend trying option 2 on that site I linked above. I remember that always worked for me whenever I needed to restore back to factory default.
Best of luck,

Just make sure you have PC Companion installed on your computer.
P.S. This will wipe everything on your phone (apps, contacts, everything), but not your SD card.
Oh, and another question. Why do you want to use freex10 anyways? isn't there something else better out there atm? give Cyanogen Mod a try if you can find a stable version!
Let me know if it works.

You probably had an error with rom and it got your phone.
Try using flashtool with the updated firmware.
If that doesn't work try seus with the repair option.
Update this post with the info with what worked or what didn't.
ok .. tomorrow I'll download the firmware and I use the 2.1.A.0.435 FlashTool to update it, I already tried the HIS before but I will not try again if unsuccessful
Once done I'll update here, thanks!

Then upgraded by SEUS and continued the same thing ..
Any other solution?

Since I manually updated to ICS, my Xperia U makes me go crazy. It's absolutely non-responsive. Sometimes it takes 2 minutes to launch an app. Or clicking into a text field, I have to wait 10-20 seconds for the keyboard to appear. Other times it works just fine.
I couldn't figure out if it was one of the apps doing it. Their CPU usage seems to be normal.
I usually have around 30 MB of RAM available. Is that too little ?
Also, 3G doesn't work. I changed my APN, but I still can't connect. I'm on O2 UK, contract. Changed APN to mobile.o2.co.uk. Tried to set 'web' PW and login and tried with both empty.
Do a factory reset
Regards
Dr. Sanket
Regarding the No 3g Signal and all, which version of Firmware did you flash and do you have ST25i or ST25a ? If you flashed the wrong baseband, 3G wont work. You need to reflash baseband from a compatible ftf in case the first flash mismatched !
30mb RAM is quite low, highly unusual. Try a factory reset. And if nothing else, try a custom ROM. If you want something based on Stock Sony, try out my rom or TinyXperia Lite by Thunderising Otherwise, CM9 and MIUI threads are also there
Hope it helps
Cheers
Thread moved. Please post your questions here in Q&A in future.

I did a factory reset, but 3G still doesn't work.
I have 25i.
I'm not keen on the Sony ROM. I would love to install CM, but I can't unlock the bootloader, so I guess I'll have to cope with it.
Hm... Did you install 6.1.1.B.1.54 firmware ? This sounds like a case of Baseband mismatch. Flash the 6.1.1.C.1.0 f/w available here (DONT exclude Baseband) and see if your 3G gets fixed with that And check out FireDroid by Atis. Its a CM9 on Stock kernel. Although dev has stopped for now,it works fine I believe

I tried all 3 options (WCDMA/GSM/both)
I set up the APN according to what I found on the official o2 uk site (they only mention the APN, which is mobile.o2.co.uk, I left the rest unset/default)
It was working fine before the update.
try ur sim on another phone for the 3g coz maybe ur sim has some problem

Yup, that's what I did. I went to o2 and ask them to take a look at it. It was the APN settings.
The speed issue kinda disappeared. It still gets laggy, but now I have "kill tasks" button, which instantly solves the lags.
Thanks for the replies.
The phone is still awfully slow and it's super annoying. This must be a software issue.
Sometimes just activating the keyboard takes 10 seconds.
