Hello everyone...
everytime I try to create a new contact (saving a phone number), my p500 selects the contact to be a "PC Sync" contact type...
I want it to be a "google account" type instead, so it can be synchronized with my Gmail acount...
I know I can change this option when saving a new contact to a google account type, but if I accidently save it as a PC Sync type, I just cant change it by editing the contact, I must delete the contact and create a new one again as a google type...
in short words - I want to disable\delete the LG PC Sync option from my Optimus one p500...
please help me out, and excuse my English.
Thanks alot..
Anyone? please help...
If you have a rooted phone, install 'titanium backup' and freeze the 'pc sync' service. This will remove the option of pc sync from appearing when you are trying to add a new contact. Unfortunately, for me, the default contact save location changes to 'sim' rather than the google account. I still am unable to remove the ' sim' option. You can try for yourself. if the 'freezing' doesn't work out, you always have the option of 'defrosting' through titanium backup.
And
I had created a thread with the same question. searching for it would have provided you with the same info as in my post.would have saved me the trouble of writing it twice.
Sorry, I did searched and never found an answer, thats why iI started this thread...
Hi,
any progresion here? It's realy annoying to allways set it to google - should be default definitely. I allways miss it and have to create contact twice :-(
I'm searching too for a fix for this thing. Did somebody managed to solve this?

Yeap, that worked , I disabled the app PCSync.apk with systemappremover after I did a backup of it and now it`s working...when I create a new contact I have directly my google account. Thanks allot for the tip
If I'm right there's an option in Contacts for it. Same goes for Calendar.

Does anybody have any idea on how to make GMail the default contact save location? I had 3 options - PC Sync, SIM & Gmail, the default contact save location being PC sync.
Using Titanium Backup, I froze the "PC Sync 1.0.8" service. This removed PC Sync from the above 3 options. But I am Still left with the rest of the 2 options, the new default contact save location being SIM.
Tried freezing the "com.lge.simcontacts 1.0" service. But this doen't remove the SIM option from the contact save locations. It just disables adding new contacts to sim BUT THE OPTION STILL APPEARS AND REMAINS AS THE DEFAULT ONE.
Please help.
Why doesn't anybody answer? Is it because no one knows the answer or because I am the only ignorant person on board here?
I would also like to know how to do this!
Seems like we are the only two guys bothered by this problem.
I've had this trouble as well and not found any answer. You just need to make sure you select your Google account when adding new contacts.
no idea try to search the forum

Do you mean to say that when you chose pc sync as the default contact save location, your new contacts are saved in your google account and on your phone simultaneously?

It should be! After i imported by hand my contacts (on .CSV format) to my gmail account they went to a place in google contacts called "My Contacts" -Note that at the time i was uploading the contacts list in CSV format i said to move it to the said "My Contacts" place!
Then i turned my phone's wifi on and it synched my Gmail contacts onto the phone! after that on "Display" i put PCSynch off , SIM Contacts off and on Gmail i put only show "My Contacts"!
Since my phone is showing my Gmail contacts, whenever i create a new contact (usually on PCSync i never bothered to change it :x) when i turn my gmail on or the android starts synching with google the contact apears on my google's "My contacts" list and therefore it pops back to the android contacts list!
Or so it worked for me! Some ppl say they didn't have that much trouble but hey... i had all my contacts on PCSynch and couldn't synch them to google before and now after all the hassle of importing them by hand... now i can!
Does not work for me. if I add a contact to pc sync, it still doesn't appear on the google contacts list. Have you installed any other application which helps you sync pc sync contacts with google?
Has anybody found out a way to do this yet?
The solution is still evading us. I hope that some developer sees this and provide a solution.
Your question is a a little confusing but I think this is what your after:
To set contact default to Google go into you contact list then press menu and choose view next uncheck the box that says "phone" and now your default is Google

Dude I have the same problem with my Google Talk after installing DeskSMS. I would receive a message like "@desksms.appspotchat.com wants to be able to chat with you, and you rejected a previous request. Okay?" I made the mistake of clicking yes and now I can't seem to remove them from my Google Chat list.
Very annoying!

I just figured it out. go to contacts.google.com & look for Other Contacts on the left-hand side of the screen. All of the appspot contacts are there & you can delete them.
If the previous solution didn't work, you have to re-download the app, there's a feature to remove the desksms contacts and it delete all of them. I did it and it looks all good so far.

Is this feature still there for others, because I have no feature to remove these contacts using the desksms application on my phone?
Ok, so in forgot to sync my contacts after I deleted the desksms contacts so they're back and the feature is gone from the app from what I can see. This sucks.
Sent from my SGH-T989
EDIT: Ok, so I found out a way to delete the contacts if anyone still cares about it:
1) Go to your google contacts
2) Click the "more" tab and export to both Google CSV (in case something goes wrong which it shouldn't) and Outlook CSV (to edit)
3) Open the Outlook CSV into Excel (should be default)
4) Edit to your hearts content!!! (and save!!)
5) Delete all your contacts, be thorough and delete every single thing (don't worry, you made a backup just in case, remember?)
6) Import your new and improved CSV file that you edited earlier and voila, all your regular contacts without the annoying desksms stuff (and anything else you decided to delete/edit)
If this didn't work or messed something else up then just delete everything again and restore the google csv (should be named google.csv I think) and your original contacts will be back.
Hope this works for you guys because it worked for me.
Aaaah. Thanks. Going into Contacts, selecting "Other" and doing a search for "appspotchat.com" showed me all of the contacts. Selected, deleted, done. Appreciate the pointer.

Google syncs with your phone contacts, so you should have the contacts both on google AND on your phone. Make sure that sync is set up correctly.
NO is not in my phone.. thats why I was wondering why I was missing these new contacts..
HAve you notice, when you go to create a new contact, by default below the name it says, Contact type ... Google
well I didnt see that and I saved it like that, but I want to have it only in my phone saved

I think in the people app you can change the settings to only show the in phone contacts then when you add a contact it will automatically create it in phone rather than a google contact.

why would you want to save it only on your phone? If you save it on google, that way, when you get a new phone, you won't have to go through the hassle of transferring the contacts.

I save mine only in my phone, I hate it when it adds it to google. All you have to do is export them onto your sd card and the import them on the other phone, it's actually easier than dealing with the google contacts, they seem to bug out at times, weird characters in the addresses, missing didgets, etc.
Hello everybody,
first I want to thank you for all the great instructions and FAQs, they really helped a lot.
However, I finally bought myself an Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 and flashed it yesterday with the Resurrection 1.8.1 ICS ROM (which is really amazing). But I am experiencing an issue for which I couldn't find a solution.
After synchronizing the S2 via MPE with Outlook, and saving the contacts only on the phone they disappear after a while. But not the contacts which are linked to an online account (Facebook etc).
I think this issue was also raised in [Rom](M5)[Pitch Black](tabletUİ)[AOKP-B35][04/05]Resurrection Remix ics v1.8.1[4.0.4] (page 2546):

I think he meant when you go to the Contacts app, then open menu > more > display options, you can choose various options here. Under the "select contacts to display" heading, if under phone, nothing is checked, then it will not display any local phone contacts. See if they are all un-checked here.
EDIT: Oh, you're on Resurrection Remix, which is an ICS ROM. Could be slightly different for you. But the idea is the same.

Your are right if I uncheck everything no contacts are seen.
But if I want to view the contacts I saved on the phone (phone-only, unsynced contact), I have to show "All contacts", but after some time these contacts disappeared.

I disabled all synchronization except Google calendar, then I also disabled the synchronisation with Contact-sync.
But still the contacts are deleted. The only contacts which are left are either synced with HaxSync or Whatsapp.
Does it mean I cannot leave any contacts which are not synced with something?
It should be possible to leave some contacts on the phone itself?!

That's very weird. I can save a new contact that is "phone only" and it displays just fine, and is never synched to my Google account. (though, I really don't understand why people don't like synching to Google. It's like automatically backing up your Contacts online. What's not to like?)
Can you post some screenshots maybe of your display settings with all the settings expanded?
Just save all contacts to SIM memory, not in Phone memory.

I was talking about display settings from your contacts app, like I was suggesting in post 4.
For me, (I'm on GB still) I open contacts, menu, more, display options, and expand out phone. I have everything checked here.
I don't know what it looks like on ICS, as I'm not on ICS... but if I can see screenshots of a similar screen, I may be able to help you. You may not have that set of contacts set to display.
EDIT: I got a hold of a work colleague's i9100 who has ICS installed on it, and found the menu steps...
Ok, so on ICS, it's a bit different. From the Contacts app, hit menu, contacts to display, customize, then expand out phone. Are all the checkboxes here checked?

If I check all of them I have ca 150contacts, but after I have synced it with MPE I usually have over 500.
After some time (or a sync with an account I guess) the contacts decline only to the contacts which are synced with an account.
Currently, I have one possible solutions in mind which is however not satisfying for me:
1. Syncing all contacts with Google.

If USB Debugging was enabled, there's a chance. If not, pretty much out of luck. Other potential options, find someone with the same phone and swap motherboards long enough to get info or installing a custom recovery and doing a backup to restore on another of the same type of phone. Sorry, there aren't any easy options, but that's what happens when you don't make backups of important data - ESPECIALLY if not using Google.

Really helps to read the OP. They said there was no Google account associated with the phone. And your typing like that is just awful. You need a new keyboard app or something.

Check the Device Manager to see if there are driver errors. Other potential causes include the cord, USB ports on the computer, and the port on the phone. Switch things around and pay attention to how the Device Manager responds as you do for more information.
Also, I don't know if this might help. If she set up Google account to sync here information from her phone, you could try this:
Android contacts
Syncing, importing, and organizing your Android contacts
Syncing your contacts
Your contacts are automatically synced when you first turn on your phone and sign into a Google Account, so make sure to add your Google Account to your Android device. Any existing contacts from that account are synced with your device.
After that, all your contacts automatically stay in sync, whether you make changes on your phone, from another device, or from any Web browser. The contact information on your device is also available in Gmail, Google Talk, Messenger, Phone, and other apps where it's useful. As you add contacts from different sources, they are synced automatically across all the places you need them.
Since contacts are automatically synced, if you delete a Google contact from your device, it will also be deleted from Google Contacts, which will also remove it from other places, such as Google Chat.
Importing Android contacts to Gmail
Android contacts are automatically synced to your Gmail account, so there’s no need to import them.
You can find any contacts you’ve created on your device in your Gmail by following these steps:
On your web version of Gmail, click Gmail on the left side of your Gmail page, then choose Contacts
Click My contacts on the left side of the page
If you’ve starred favorite contacts on your Android device, find them in your Gmail contacts by clicking Starred under My contacts.

OP: If you know for certain that USB Debugging is on, you can try one of the big carriers and see if they have a Cellbrite machine. If they don't know what that is, then you're calling the wrong places. lol The official VZW, ATT, T-Mobile, and Sprint stores should all have access to one.
