Hello xda guys!
Like a dumb i decided to change the front cover of my sony x10 mini, so, i decided to open it and de-assembly my phone.
It was all so easy, in few time and simply i got all the parts of my phone not mounted.
So i began to re-assembly every pieces and all looks fine, but, when i turned on my phone, after all the boot image i saw the sliding unlock command was not working good
The touch-sensor was not sensing my touch properly.
So i decided to de-assembly it again e re-assembly.
After this the phone was no more sensible at touch!!!!!
What did i brake?
What did i damaged?
Thanks for helps in advance.
Hi, As I saw on this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpCb0oxd_3c), there are lots of wires in this device.
Didn't you forgot to plug in one of them ? Or did you damage any integrated circuits ? Must be one of these if it's a hardware problem. It can be a firmware problem too but it's kinda obvious it isn't seeing the facts.
Anyway, i guess you should go back to SE's 2.1 rom and send it back to the customer service, i fear that it would be even more damaging to open it back again :s
http://youtu.be/iyT618lVxUs
My phone is this.
Well, now, my phone is definitely a test one (warranty no more valid), so i can do tests.
I guess i damaged the circuit or the sensor abled to sense touch, just because, all the other function looks working good.
I'm not sure on a thing: should i resolve just changing the motherboard or the display?
Ah yes, I misread you're on mini, not mini pro. Well, displays are solid componants. Unless the ribbon cable is damaged. I see no point in changing it. It's easier to damage a motherboard.(did that on my pc...)
These videos are awesome but i'll never try that myself. Too afraid of loosing my phone !
Yes! This should be the way! Thanks for the precious hints!
Definitely resolved!!!
Just changed the frontal cover!!
Now my phone works like a new one!!!!
I just checked out the official SONY ERICSSON X10 MINI repair manual on a wiki homepage. If someone need the link just ask me through a email!

Should it be "assembly"?
Hi guys and gals,
I posted that on q&a but went unnoticed. Just want to check if there is hope...
My primary microphone is gone (water damage). It sits on the "UI board with vibration" under the home button.
Could only find it in two online shops, but not in stock for a month.
Now the developement part: is there a way to make the secondary microphone default -as ti is I see it is only used with camera. -This is for the time I wait for the new part.
Anybody has access to a new part quicker than in a month? Will settle for a used one.

Only thing I found was a micswitch, and all it does is changes the a1026 value in build.prop -or ment to change it, doesnt quite work here. Gave me an idea though, so I changed it myself, but makes no difference.
Since the primary stopped working I hear myself in the speaker, comming from the secondary, but for some reason that sound from the secondary mic is not feed to the remote phone...
Sent from my ST18i using XDA
Ok, we'll try it from another angle.
Cant get the part anywhere. Its still on warranty, I kight send it off, but not sure I want to waste time.
Is there any warranty seals that I didnt see when stripping the bottom plastics? As in, will it show at the service that I opened the phone? Also, wil they see "water damage" as they usually see -I didnt see any traces.

Have you try to clean it with this: http://www.amazon.com/CRC-05103-Quick-Electronic-Cleaner/dp/B000BXOGNI
or a similar product?
Thanks, I think its the lowest price cleaner I seen. Localy at my usual electronics shop they go for about 20.
I havent really noticed any moisture residue. Got the phone stripped right after and "hair dryered".
I'm just wondering, have they got any fancy x-ray os such that would tell them anyway?

Every smartphone have a water indicator: i don't know where is in the ray,but is a small piece of special paper that change color when get water.
sorry fo r my english...
Inviato dal mio ST18i
There is a water sticker on the battery and all over the insides of the phone. The bottom panel including. If even one of them is red, the warranty is not valid. My ray got dipped in water too, fortunately i managed to open it up and clean in fast enough, so no damage(except the lost warranty).
K, so I guess thre million dollar question now is where tyat sticker is oj ray. My phone only got the dipped to the top of home button (standing).
I'll chance it, since I cant find the replacement parts anywhere

Well, well well... just got the phone back from the shop. Warranty was a keeper and the Ray is fixed and good as new... or... as new. Lost root, toggles, and all the work done previously. On a bright - I can have fun doing it all over again and best of all - I don't have to rush unwinding the headset from the pocket just to answer the phone anymore.
Happy days.
Thank you Sony

When you had your lcd replaced, the phone was opened up by someone right.
The connection of the camera module is very delicate as it needs to be placed perfectly.
There must have been some disconnection while replacing the Digitizer!
So take it back to the guy who repaired it in the first place.
Goodluck! :good:
Before changing the digitizer if it was working then definitely u should take it to the person who fixed it & claim it was working fine. & ICS comes with alot new features than GB. Try it to feel the difference :good:
And yeah ICS on Mini Pro makes it way better! Try it bro and goodluck!
It was me who changed it, I carefully took it off the main board and it sat in a bag untill my new LCD arrived. Could it need a new one? Or maybe try cleaning it?
Sent from my SK17i using Tapatalk 2
Ooooh.Hmm.No man don't get a new one yet!
Show it to SONY or some other expert. If all fails,Then replacement!
Goodluck!
cant get a replacement, cant seem to find one anywhere, its odd, because the front camera works fine, just when i try taje a photo all i get is a blank screen. ive looked at the camera module and connectors and it all seems ok. i cant find a replacement anywhere!! ahhhhhh!
could it be software related? i have krsh kernal and real icsr4, ive tried to repair phone with pc companion but it still dont work,

As I already told,
Did you take proper protection against static electricity before you opened up your device!?
Was the phone properly grounded?
Did you discharge yourself before opening up the device?
Static electricity would have probably damaged your phone's circuits

Yea was grounded etc. Its got to be the camera module but where the hell can I get a new one lol. Even replacing the lcd was a pain in the ass

Does anyone know how to replace the Charging/USB Port for the Thunderbolt? I've got a dead port and I don't wanna have to send in my phone to get replaced and for them to send me back a refurb. Don't wanna deal with having to reroot my phone since it's been forever and I honestly don't remember how to! If anyone knows how, or if you know someone who does, or even a youtube link, that would be great!:good:

I had the same issue with my old phone... but the cheapest port replacement I could find was like $60. Then I'm pretty sure it involved either soldering or changing out the logic board.
Wasn't worth the money and work for me.
If it came down to replacing it with Asurion, you will get a refurbished one. When I received mine, it had GPS issues. If you send it back a few times and complain about how crappy their refurbished ones are, you'll get a new one. If they can't give you a new one, they will offer you something different. One of my buddies got a nexxus out of the deal... not too shabby.

It will show you how to remove the motherboard, you should be able to go from there if you can solder/unsolder.

Hi, I am just posting this out of frustration and to share my experience with Sony. I bought a non-contract, sony Xperia Ultra Z outright from the Sony store in the middle of October and a month and a half later the touchscreen became completely unresponsive. I could see that I was still receiving text messages however, so I assume the other functionality of the phone was still working. I called into Sony and over several hours of troubleshooting and repairing via PC Companion it was determined I had to send in the phone for repair, which I was quite reluctant to do but had no other choice. I sent it in and had the case escalated to a supervisor level and was ensured that the case would be expedited with the repair facility... three weeks later and still nothing but the runaround with Sony representatives and supervisors. Furthermore, it took numerous calls to Sony to convince them to send me a loaner phone while my Xperia Z was being repaired. Once the loaner was received, it would not even connect to the internet and consequently, I'm sending it back to Sony. Though the supervisors are polite and empathetic, they have promised numerous times to call me back with an update on the status of my repair (RMA), but don't. I'm frustrated firstly, because the phone stopped working so quickly after I purchased it. Mostly though, I'm disappointed with the way Sony has handled the situation. Its been disorganized on Sony's part. Now, i'm still stuck without a phone and no status on the repair for my phone... I doubt I will buy a Sony product ever again. I even doubt I'll see my phone again, it's absolutely ridiculous, especially given that there was zero water or physical damage to the unit. It boggles my mind why it's taking so long as I have been told the repair center is 'looking at it' for two weeks now. I've read about Sony's evaluation process online somewhere, and in my judgement it should have been completed already and a decision rendered. Ridiculous.

Well i don't know if it exists in your country but in mine, we have separate ori set that's from manufacturer like sony, htc etc and ap set that's an original part but some of the main part is built from other factory so its cheaper than original....and also the warranty also not covered by manufacturer because they are not build by them.....maybe my explanation may a bit wrong but you can Google it....

Still no progress with Sony. They tell me that the repair centre is still "looking at it". Which is clearly b.s., it doesn't take two weeks to evaluate it and render a decision on their next step. Who even knows if anyone has truly even looked at it yet!
I am wondering, does anyone know what obligations Sony has in regards to the manufacturer's warranty? Things such as max. time for repair? Loaner phones and the type of loaner phone provided? Just looking for information to help me get them to expedite either a) replacing the phone or b) sending me a loaner that is a XZU, or c) fixing mine and sending it back asap

On my previous xperia z there were 8 dead pixels so they replaced without asking any questions.

Hahaha.... hope dont get need to. Well its not visible in daily usage as I keep low brightness ,its just visible in start up screen so doesnt affect the usage.
So if I ignore this one pixel is there chance that this dead pixel will result in more dead pixels? As you cant be sure replacement device will have more dead pixels.

No, they don't multiply
If the replacement device has one, then refuse to accept the replacement. They'll have to get you another one.

Ask them to compare the display on your device to another display. Most probably they will have the old phone lying around - ask them to compare with that one if possible or another one. Insist on checking, they will try to say that the display is like that only and nothing's wrong with it!
