Backup with Titanium and try to reinstall from scratch with SEUS.
phone is not rooted, and i can't do it. so there's no way for me to get titanium backup.. or is it posible to put Titanium backup into non-rooted phone ?
if i dont care about what's inside in phone. should i do the backup with titanium ?
restarts
I had a similar problem before with my X10i. It would restart and couldn't turn it back on again (stuck at start up screen). I returned it for warranty, to keep it short i argued quite a lot with them and in the end got new x10. Aperently it was motherboard problem (they were trying to persuade me it is just a software problem so they just reinstalled the software, and gave it back to me, but it was still restarting).
I know this doesn't really help you with your problem, but i just wanted to post my experience with my x10

I understand you do not have xrecovery installed. Reflash phone
ok i have no idea to do that considering i can't get my fone off... it's stuck in the loop cheers for that well thought out answer that gave no help at all
Take out the battery, put it back in and don't turn it on.
Use Sony Ericsson PC Companion and follow the onscreen instructions to restore your phone.
Also, YOU are the one with the problem, so if someone tries to help you don't be rude please.
Have tied to remove your batt?
hey guys think i have it fixed via update service thanks anyways

Thanks for your answer, i had not seen it when posted mine. Finally seems our friend to have solved his problem reflshing,,,, jejejejeje.
OK so heres my problem, I didnt drop the phone or anything like that, but one day i just noticed that my home and menu hardware keys werent working but the back key does, then i noticed that whenever i slide the phone to the side, the phone freezes, and tries to redraw the image in landscape while the keyboard is out, but it cant for some reason. but it can draw it in landscape without the keyboard out.
Im on this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201116
obviously stock kernel and all that.
Has anyone experienced this problem, is it a softwarre issue or a hardware issue.
I can also get back into cwm but i cant select anything because the middle hardware button is not working. im guessing because i cant use it in cwm its a software issue but i just had to make sure. i want to know if i should use flashtool and go back to stock so i can give it to my provider to fix or if i should try something else.
Another thing, this is the only phone i have access to so i dont want to do anything that isnt reversable with out the use of the two hardware keys i mentioned.
Please please help me with this.
Cheers,
Evil.
Hi.
I've used that rom for a while.
Never experienced something like that.
Once a time I found phone switched off, but I don't think it depends on rom...
But, more from a shot it takes...
Try to restore original rom (with SEUS).
If the problem persist, use Your warranty!
Cheers,
M.

Thanks but you see the problem is that i dont want to restore with seus just incase it is a hardware issue, coz then i wouldnt have a phone to use, as it is my only device. does anyone else have any suggestions. Please anything will be cool.
Cheers,
Evil.
If it is a hardware issue and you use SEUS, it'll just mean you'll still have the same problems you have now but on the stock ROM. Your phone will be just as usable as it is at the moment.
Plus, it means you'll be able to claim a repair on your warranty.
If it's a software issue and you use SEUS..then it should be fixed. It does mean you have to reinstall everything, which is great fun, but at least your phone will work.
The only other thing I could suggest would perhaps be reflashing your ROM.
Which you can't do with CWM because your home key doesn't work..
Hmm...
I think you are going to have use SEUS, I'm afraid.
use the power key in recovery
it seems like it's a hardware problem as the home button DOESNT work in CWM recovery..
is your phone still in warranty?? (i thought warranties were only like for one year..)
btw... do a backup in CWM.. i know ur home key does not work but u can use the 'power' key on top as a substitute in CWM. Backup ur ****, then flash with SEUS and see.. if it still doesn work, get it repaired under ur warranty.
OR
slide out the hardware keyboard and use the "enter" key on it

Rooted?
If not, may be the motherboard. I've got the same problem with mine, and I'm going to return it to store for a fix.
You may also want to try to plug it to the computer and open PC Companion and try the "repair" function. But backup everything you need first, I don't think everything get's deleted but be aware that it may happen.
Do u overclock it?

Hi, I got a similar problem. Since a few weeks ago, flashed a ROM and when I've tried to use the phone, it keeps turning off randomly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after hours. So, I tried to take it back to the clean original 2.3.3 ROM, but it keeps happening. ¿Any idea? ¿Any solution? Please, help me.

Didnt PCCompanion/seus fix it? And still persists?
Then it's time to get a new chipset.
Or a new device.

So this damned problem happened to me too!.. My phone hasn't been rooted or anything.. just today my Sim lost signals so I decided to turn on the flight mode on and off to reset the networking but the flight mode wont turn off..
I remember when this happened to me before once too I had taken the battery out once or twice also had restarted the phone and it started to work again but now it didn't respond to that treatment at all..
Got online read about the problem to know that I also have the 'Unknown IMEI/IMEI SV/Baseband' problem.. I have no idea what so ever what to do to fix it.. my phone has warranty till 30th November.. I don't know if the partner will honor the warranty but anyhow as of yet I can't go to the service center cause its already closed.. will tomorrow.. anyhow been reading around..
Saw these two threads..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261948
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362285
Both are explaining replacing the corrupt EFS files with back up ones.. but what scares me what if I don't have them? as explained in thread 2..
anyhow is there any way to fix the problem without rooting? I'm not sure if those methods are for none rooted devices..
I'm just a noob I have never even tried rooting or even updating! just because I was happy with what I had...
Backup data and factory reset if that does not fix its a service centre .
Or you mess with other methods that may brick your phone or void warranty in any case .
Tell service it has happened before .

-sighs- Alright.. its service center for me.. the only problem is.. sending phones to service center here is like inviting more problems to whatever you are trying to get fixed >.>..
I still can't believe why my phone lost/corrupted such critical files when I never even tried messing with it..
D: I should messed with it! lol..
M.. well anyhow wish me luck.. the phone served me a good 6 months..

do u ave a bckup of efs
My phone wasn't rooted.. nor did I back up anything I don't think I can even see if I have those files or not without root privileges..
I just wanna hear the worst case scenario..
-edit-
unless there is way to check please let me know..
Alright.. Sad news for me, The retailer I bought the phone from told me the service center is an other city(whoa) and he then further pointed to that service center's outlet here that would take my phone and process it through..
The guy kept saying this error only happens when you are updating but I was never updating to begin with.. never have updated my phone!
Now I'm worried if going to this outlet and handing my phone over to them for I don't know how long! without any replacement phone is a good idea or not.. Nor do I think I'm willing go to take a trip to the other city.. but tomorrow I would definitely visit the outlet..
anyhow I'm deciding to try out the methods or restoring my Phone's Efs files here because honestly I don't think anyone here has a clue, I've been hovering on these forums and lurking around for almost an year and I was gonna root my phone anyway after the warranty period was over..
now my question is, Can I root without any issues having the 'Unknown Baseband/IMEI'? I have done a factory reset which has cured the flight mode problem but my phone isn't responding to Kies on PC cause it seems to be stuck on 'connecting'.. but I'm assuming that wont be a problem when rooting.. but again this is why I'm asking the advanced and experienced users..
I've read most of this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
and have understood most of it however I'd definitely need some mature advices over this matter..
I'm just rooting to try the App GSII_Repair by Helroz.. anyhow still mature Advice needed..
Please Help me out guys
bump..

THATS NOT TRUE THEIR ARE A NUMBER OF METHODS THAT MAY WORK IN SOME CASES .
But you cannot restore something you never backed up in the first place .

well so there is no point in doing all this because I haven't backed up my efs files(which I never could from the first place cause I never tweaked around)
many people out there have explained having not saved any efs files.. yet they have been able to get their back using different methods.. I mean I'm assuming it must have happened when I took the battery out? assuming a sudden loss of power supply corrupted the files?

I know I asked you guys about this before, but since I don't want to bump that thread I thought of starting another one instead.
I'm at a loss as to why my mum's Xperia Go kept on hanging up and restarting, either after using it for some time, or by itself on occasion. It's been like that since we bought the device, and I didn't even root or tamper it at the time. Even after flashing a custom ROM the symptoms still persist, to which I'm suspecting that it might have something to do with a hardware defect or bug, but is it still possible to fix or at least work around the problem? I can send the phone to the local service centre if needed, but I'm not that arsed to shell some $$$ for having the phone fixed.
I'll see if I could turn up a logcat or dmesg log and paste it here for analysis.

If flashing ROM didnot help, I would advise you to just send it for warranty/service center. Trust me, the work around to fix it would be too frustrating than to actually fix the phone. Sometimes it takes over 9 hours straight in front of PC with no use....

Yeah, but what about the bootloader to which I tampered with? I know there's a way to relock it, but does it also work on the latest stock firmware?

Well, do you know about FLASHTOOL ?
Download it from here.
http://www.flashtool.net/download.php
It can lock your bootloader in a minute.
Also, you can just tell the service centre it hangs alot and restart. No need to tell them what you did with phone!
Good Luck
