Hey great work! I will try this one soon.
Sidenote: what is the name of the volume bar .png? I could not find it in the framework!
Followed instructions and it worked perfectly... was my first successful adb push! I liked the colors and icons a little bit more on this one for some reason.
Is there a reason the notifications and preferences icons don't have the same color scheme? Aside from that, really enjoy all the icons and colors!
dbefore, Nice Work!

yea... the notifications icon that launcher pro uses for its settings menu is inside the launcher pro app... i will be theme-ing that and a whole lot of other google apps to go with this...
@olieebur the volume bar colors are in framework\res\drawable\progress_horizontal.xml and the .png is named progressbar_indeterminate1, 2, and 3
also this is not perfect.... let me know some bugs you find and i will try to fix it... and as obsessionXYZ adds updates to his theme i will also add his fixes.
EDIT: Nevermind I misread what SuperOneClick was being used for. Carry on

Just FYI, you should avoid using SuperOneClick. Stick to aRoot. It's cleaner and won't cause issues later.

Yes... and no... you can but you would have a 90% chance of a boot loop. You see... when copying and pasting with root exeplorer,... root exeplore has a tendency of not setting the same permissions as the file it replaces. So if the permissions are not the same then you will get a boot loop. You can change the permissions manually.... but some times when replacing the framework, the system reboots its self... leaving you unable to change the permissions.

Maybe you can copy both files to, let's say, /system, change their permissions to the right ones, and then do the copy. I usually do that in other devices and it ended successfully. Unfortunately, I don't have my Atrix with me (yet) to test it out. Maybe it works, maybe not. Do it at your own risk, and of course, report back!

ah ok, that must have been what caused my first boot loop (the mismatched permissions) it was pre-sbf so i returned the phone for another one. Next time i'm feeling frisky i'll give it a shot (for whatever reason i suck at adb)

-I am near completion onthe framework and will be starting on the launcher pro and google apps theme-ing part on my days off as well.
-there will be a new boot animation made and customized by kmiller8
-a script will be made... or borrowed to automate the installation process.
~also as a side note... all of the updates said above can... and will come to a halt... if I get Wife aggro...

Do NOT install this on 1.57. That update is not deodexed yet and you will have issues, and you phone could potentially brick.
I just realized/found out about it being due to the deodexed issue.
Too late to not put this on 1.57 though for me, its there. Haven't noticed any other issues, other than the clock text, but i'm still learning.
Thanks.
Quick update 2...
- HoneyGlow 2.0 will hopfully be out on sunday.
--main features will be:
--automated installation
--themed google apps and motorola apps
--new boot animation
--tweeks and image enhancements.

THEME METRO 1.0 *Assembled by Quest
This is a beautiful mix of themes that I find work well. It started months ago with 2.1 as a personal endeavor but now I feel I would like to share.
***\ I am going to start this off by first saying that at least 90% of the elements of this theme were originally created by someone else. More than likely a highly skilled designer or developer. I am not posting this for any credit other than a thanks for the months of picking, choosing, creatively using things in place of other things, swapping and trial and error, or maybe a "Hey that dude has good taste in mixing and matching". I made this theme for myself and although I know tastes very, I think these parts fit nicely on the Galaxy S and really show off the SuperAMOLED screen. I have also tried to accentuate Touch-Wiz rather than demolish it. That shows in my notification bar in sticking with the blue/black. I have added a bit of gray to the mix also. I'll try to reference all the great themes I have used but if I forgot someone please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. Enjoy./***
What's Included:
Metamorph themes for-
Settings.apk -changes icons to high-res color glossy.
MediaProvider.apk -changes the media scanner running icon only.
Browser.apk -makes address bar glossy black as well as a couple other mods.
Phone.apk -color matches touch-wiz now with some green swapped for blue
framework-res.apk -mish-mash of many different drawables.
twframework-res.apk some new drawables and adds blue droid to pulldown, carbon-look and glossy
quick panel icons.
*What's Missing: You may notice my desktop icons match well but they are NOT a part of this theme, they are from an ADW theme called Theme for Sense by Johnny Bueno. It's a paid app, well worth the buck fifty and super nice, the launcher is more than likely your most used app and you have to look at it constantly so why be stingy on it's looks right? highly recommended.
What you need:
1) A Galaxy S Phone
(this is done on the Vibrant, I don't see why it shouldn't work on the others but I have not tried it. Always make a backup in case it doesn't play nicely) I've done this theme on all the froyo ROMS from Eugene, TW and Master.
2) [APP] METAMORPH this is an application made by one of the great devs at XDA developers named Stericson. It actually replaces the drawables and/or XML files within the framework or other system applications without creating a "skin" or overlay that would otherwise slow the system down as other theming methods do. I'll explain how to do this briefly but here is a link to everything you need to know about this method: Vibrant Morph Thread.
3) ROOT ACCESS This one is easy. If you don't know what this means, you don't have root access.
Ok now that the prerequisites are defined, I'll add one caveat: This theme applies to different parts of the phone each one you apply individually. If your not using a custom ROM that has a DeODEXed system/app the Browser.apk and Settings.apk may not apply properly. So if you're not using a custom ROM,be forewarned that the browser and settings might not work. Worse case scenario you might have to do Nandroid restore.
Instructions:
Okay let's get on to the meat of it. First download the Morph from my Dropbox Here:
DOWNLOAD [THEME]Metro.zip
1) Make sure you have USB debugging turned on in Settings -we're not using ADB it just needs to be on.
2) Once you have the .zip file someplace on your phone, open Metamorph and allow it to finish running checks.
3) Next select Unzip/Extract new theme and navigate to the Metro.zip file on your sdcard.
Once you select it, it will automatically begin extracting the files. may take a few minutes.
When It's finished, you may get an error message that the theme is invalid, just ignore this as it is only due to the way the file was zipped. If this happens just reopen Metamorph and select Pick existing theme.
4) Click on the Metro.xml file it's highlighted with a giant green "M" next to it.
Select "close"
5) Now select each subTheme individually and click "Apply it" starting with "Phone.apk", when it's done do the same for "Settings.apk", then "Browser.apk" then STOP!
6) *For MediaProvider.apk make sure you have ADB handy to reboot, or you may have to pull the battery because after the theme applies, it will force close repeatedly untill you reboot the phone. I don't recommend pulling the battery if it can be avoided you could lose or corrupt data. Once phone reboots move on to step 7.
7) This next part is crucial. most problems are because this last part wasn't done right. select "twframework-res.apk" next, even though it's last on the list, and select "Apply it!". It should go without a hitch. If your phone reboots thats ok, Chances are all the drawables were applied but if not apply it a second time.
8)Reboot
9) Select "framework-res.apk", select "Apply It!, continue past the second warning. Most likely your phone will reboot this time on it's own. Sometimes this happens before all the files are updated. After phone boots up, I ALWAYS do this twice to be sure all the drawables are swapped.
10)Reboot and Enjoy.
It's many reboots but this is the best way to ensure all the themed files are written.
I want to thank with much love and respect the great devs and designers who put there heart and soul into these designs.
-Thanks hacku -droid in notification pulldown
-Big thanks to dena994 for this insane theme i used extensively :ANDRODeNa GaLaSSiA
-Thanks to Master Ive used a bit of Axura, a georgeously themed ROM.
-Thanks to Eugene373, not so much for the couple drawables I borrowed but more for the great kernel and ROM work that he does also.
-Thanks to Team Whiskey, for the Obsidian base that this theme started on, as well as the great ROMS and kernels those guys do.
-Thanks To all the great developers that make Android such a great community.

You can flash the settings by Itself but unfortunatly the only thing that will change is the icons. That is because the contuored background is part of the framework. Any app that uses Android's ListView would also display with that background. If you only want the icons, you can use MetaMorph and after you select the xml file and hit "Close" just select the Settings.apk, apply it and reboot. as for a flashable .zip, I will try to put one together for the entire theme. I have not tried it with Nero but it should work just fine
Nero beta 3
Well I just tried it on nero.no luck.strange it's the first rom I couldn't theme.
How do I make the Clock Background Transparent. Id really like to learn how to do some of this.. High level steps would be sufficient. Thanks
This is what I'm wanting rid of.
Id also like to know how to change the Font Color If possible as well.

So i found one i liked and installed it.. But now nothing works.. None of the HTC Widgets will Work. and I cannot Long Press on the screen to put widgets on the screen.
And When I use the menu and goto personalize and browse for htc widgets rosie force closes.
Im trying to install the StockWhite .. I thought I had a 4x5 Setup. But Im going ahead an trying the non 4x5 to see if that fixes it.
You just need to change one image in drawable-hdpi its the first image if your looking at it in alphabetical order. Either use to program to make it transparent or find a clock that already has a transparent background and just copy that in to the apk then push it back to your phone.

The older clock widgets don't work properly on the new framework found on the ThunderBolt, which is why I haven't made all of my clocks available by saying they were compatible yet.
What you want to do is take a look at the htcclockwidget.apk using 7zip.
You can download my restore for Tbolt in my themes thread here in the Tbolt section.
Download it twice. Use one as your main backup, and one as your mod test.
The one we are going to use as your mod test, we are going to open up using 7zip, open the .zip until you get to system/app/ the apk is in this folder. Open the .apk in 7zip and this is the graphic we want to replace, "clock_add_weather_base.png" it will be located in this location: (see attachment)
All you gotta do is either right click and do "open outside" do what you want with the graphic or just replace it with a opacity of ZERO and the background will be gone.
To make it easier, I have included the transparent graphic. Just drag and drop into the same window shown in the attachment photo, and 7zip will ask to update, click yes. click all the way back until your out of the .zip. and then your done, use the .zip to install via clockworkmod recovery and boom, its gone!
Your welcome
P.S. Here's a .zip update instead if all that is too complicated.
Just copy this to the SD card, reboot into recovery, mount your system first, and do install from sd card. and then once its done, reboot.

OK so Now I have a few questions lol
So I made some changes and such as described above. And Installed the Zip via clockwork.. says it installed
But I still have the same clock? so I deleted it and put it back and its still there with none of the changes. Not even the change you put in for the transparent background.
what Did I do wrong?
** Oh and I also tried it with no changes at all just the zip you provided incase i did something wrong.. and it still doesn't show?
----
Opps I Figured it out.. i wasnt Mounting the /system before installing Works great now haha My bad.
OK here is my home screen. My next question is how do I change the font color on the clock widget. And is it possible to make the weather smaller?

decompiling... done
OK So Ive learned how to use apktool
Done.. got it all de-compiled..
But now what do I edit to do what im wanting. there are so many xml file.. guess its just a hunt to find? and trial and error to know whats what?
How do you make the clocks white background with the numbers transparent? I would just like to have a white outline and text for the flip clock?
I tried the zip a couple times on BAMF 1.4 and BAMF demix and it doesn't change my clock, no transparent clock... I dunno why.

4. Download my zip file, save to root of SD card, and install via CW recovery. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35097081/R800x_UK_15NOV.zip
5. Now flash the kernel via fastboot and enjoy.
Note: If coming from Verizon stock firmware, dial *#*#4636#*#* and change preferred network type to CDMA auto instead of GSM/CDMA auto.
Thanks
Many thanks to DoomLord for awesome kernels, Zerojay for his update script, and Chevyowner for his CDMA patch.
Bugs
1. Contacts shortcut defaults to import contacts screen even after selecting to not show again.
FIX-access contacts from phone.
2. Setup Guide returns on reboot.
FIX-replaced SEMCSetupWizard with VZWSetupWizard
3. Incoming call glitch.
FIX-WIP.
Changelog
07NOV2011 - Posted.
12NOV2011 - Deleted some bloatware, added Bravia Engine and Swype, modified Mms.apk, removed SEMCSetupWizard and replaced w/ VZWSetupWizard, zipaligned and optimized apks.
15NOV2011 - Removed Swype - install from beta.swype.com, removed init.d scripts and moved scripts to /system/bin which works with standard DoomKernel v3.
I think you stated everything works in this version. Are there any known bugs? I will flash this today and test it out.

Yes everything works. I will edit the first post to reflect that. The only known bug I have found is the Contacts screen always defaults to the initial screen for importing contacts so I just replaced that shortcut from the dock and go to contacts from the phone shortcut.
Awesome! I've been hoping for a stock rom that could be overclocked for the R800x for some time now
Is there any way to get the stock MMS.apk to display a black background?

Yes. I had already looked into that. I can make another zip including it with a black background and white text or would a dark blue similar to the settings background be better?

Unfortunately no, getting the 2.3.4 firmwares to work on the R800x is still a work in progress. They will run on our phone, but without service.
I haven't tried using that, but can look into it. I was going to work on tweaking the v3 kernel with some of his newer features anyways.

Thanks 007. I've spent all morning messing with the feature, and it looks like it isn't running any of the startup scripts in the /etc/init.d folder. It certainly isn't running the mount scripts. I await your wizardry with baited breath.

The black background with white text is what I'm used to, but the blue sounds interesting. Any way you could upload a .zip for each one. By .zip you mean a small .zip to flash through CWM, right?

I'll make one of each and yes, it will be a CWM zip that will only replace the mms.apk.

I remember seeing in DoomLord's thread where he made changes in the kernel for
4.0.A.2.368 that gave better init.d support.
NM, had the wrong CDMA mode selected.
Is there a safe to remove apps list? Seeing the chinesetextinput.apk at 8MB is disturbing to me. Haha.
After playing with this for a while I think the only other bug would be the incoming call slider being cut off for some reason. Other than that this ROM runs great and everything works.
Do u need an unlock bootloader to flash this?

The .368 kernel didnt work with this firmware, I tried it and did not have camera. The v3 .145 kernel posted here seems to have something different to it because no matter where I put busybox or how I edit scripts the dalvik2cache mod never works. Ive tried using both the dalvik hack zip and Dooms dalvik mod zip and neither work. Same results with the .145 kernel on stock verizon firmware.
I also tried running the insecure adb .apk even though the kernel is already insecure, still no luck. No support on the problem from doom either.
I flashed back to stock kernel and the dalvik mod works fine with this firmware so its def. the kernel. Just cant seem to figure it out!
Does the manual process through ADB not work with v3 either? Would rather be sitting at 140MB free instead of 71MB. Haha.
Also is there any way to get Wireless Tether for Root Users to work? I tried setting to Nexus One, and it keeps popping up that hotspot is active, and won't allow anything to connect.

I actually had the built in wireless tether work for me without using an app or sending me to the verizon page.
Try the new alternate kernel I posted for the init.d script problems and let me know if it works.
I'll have to test after work. I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, separate question: Doomkernel v3 is supposed to have a whole host of cpu governors, but my setcpu only shows conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, and performance. No Smartass, interactive, or any of the other frills that are supposedly in his v3 kernel. Do you guys have the missing governors, and am I just stupid or something?
I will test it out. Just to be sure, this is a test to get the dalvik hack working, or are any other tweaks involved?
Also how do I get into CWM with this kernel? I can't seem to get in there either through hitting the back button, volume rocker while booting. I also can't seem to get into it by rebooting into it through Rom Toolbox, I ended up having to boot off recoveryplay.img.
I have 197MB free up from 57!
You have to spam the back button to get into recovery while it boots. I start spamming as soon as "sony ericcson" shows on screen. If you wait until you get the SE animated boot logo, you're too late.
I have finally put together a ROM for us Locked Bootloader users. I used Hogwarts COLA ROM as a base for this ROM. This is my first attempt with creating ROMS. So please bear with me if you find bugs, and let me know, so i can fix them. Thanks guys, and enjoy!

Well with a locked boot loader any "custom" ROM are all going to be about the same. Since we cant overclock, or upgrade past 2.3.3 yet. They are all just tweaked a little differently, like my ROM in comparison to COLA, has only a few minor differences... IT-ROM has the camera mod built in, has toggles built in to the theme, carrier name removed, and a few other cosmetic changes.... the next update will have tweaks built into the build.prop, adds a green dialer theme, and replaces font with stock font. This is my first attempt at playing with roms. It was more of a learning tool for me to get the basics down for removing system app, replacing system app, and what not.

Well you think that but it wont work
Cola has to have /data/ to work
I'm the one who design it so trust me I know.
Once you loose data the rom is broken.

Hey thats awesome info! I was wanting to do something like that but wasnt sure how to make a update.zip, and really didnt want peope to have to reflash the entire ROM again, i know how frustrating it is to have to re-do all your desktops, and widgets, and re-enter al your accounts and sync info.
Would you mind PM'ing me, or post it here, on how to make the symlinks, i am 100% unfamiliar with doing that. (im still learning all of this) Even if it doesnt work with the COLA based ROM, i'd stil like to learn this for future projects, and well, just cause its something I dont know how to do, and I ike to learn.

I know a little bit too, don't worry. You need to keep the Setup Wizard APK which, if absent, breaks the Home button in case of a data wipe. Plus, even if you put a /data folder, it can be empty.
XIT, I think the best that you can do for the symlinks is to grab another ROM (from the Play if possible), unzip it and check its symlinks. I'm not too sure of what symlinks your ROM needs. You can see the symlinks in the update script file in the Meta-Inf folder.

wont work.
locked bootloader cant flash a whole filesystem and datasystem
thats why UK rom has to be flashed as nandroid
1-2 files with the wifimodules work because your just pushing something
but when you try to
format /system
push /system
format /data
push /data
it basicly is going to wipe out CWM recovery in the process because if ur aware the CWM resides in system folder
so yes it wont work for locked bootloader
also I wouldn't keep setup wizard because it is a costly file to keep when it's never needed
the cost is about 1.2 mb not including data if i remember correctly.
so its gone.
when you use nandroid backup you dont need it anyway
I think you're right, I forgot about where the cwm was.

ya i know because i've tried it myself
i created update .zip and the CWM would always return error
i could never get it to work as many times as i tried
I like it, very nice. Plenty of space, apps and drawer loads faster. I implamented the "adb shell, pm setInstallLocation 2, exit". That way I can choose pretty much any app to be moved to sd or installed to sd. Stable rom so far today, no issues.

I am no longer going to make aroma installers. The zip method is very similar and should work whether or not you are flashing modules as long as one of the modules does not mod the framework-res.apk or SystemUIGoogle.apk. Download the zip installer. Unzip it into a folder on your internal sdcard. Find that folder once you are in TWRP.
This what it looks like. Inside those folders are the zips you will flash. Hit the back button in TWRP and go to the next one you want to flash. Continue until you are done then flash complete installation. Nothing is flashed to your system until you flash "complete installation".

The developer of Active edge gave me permission to use his base so that people would not have to make a choice between his and my mods. All credit for this goes to him. You must delete the active edge sense module and use one of my active edge modules. If it doesn't say active edge then it isn't active edge sense compatible. If there is an issue with edge sense after flashing, do not contact edge sense op with issues. He does not troubleshoot modified versions of his mod (and neither do I).
ADB Installer Instructions-Root is required
1. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work.
2. FLASH ALL THE MODS YOU WANT. ONCE YOU DONE WITH EVERYTHING, FLASH THE "COMPLETE INSTALLATION" Option. This will create a Magisk Manager flashable zip in a folder on your sdcard called ozop. Flash that to install your selection of mods.
Root required
Instructions.
1. Unzip ADB Mods Installer Files.zip on your PC
2. Run TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat (Give ADB Root Permissions)
3. ADB debugging Enabled
4. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
5. Go through the other options selecting what all mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
6. Once finished with selections, run "Complete Installation" at the bottom. This will generate your mymagisk.zip module in a folder called "ozop" on your sdcard.

Hey @Tulsadiver
Great mods!
I'm on the P and I do have some problems.. I'm not much of a tweaks guy, All I want to do, is to get rid of the navbar.
In aroma I do select remove navbar with 3 Titles - the first one - but the clock moves to the right. Anyway to just disable the navbar? And that everything else stays the same?
Thank you!
