[Q] Difference between X10 mini and X10i mini - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

There are a few different posts on the forums around the X10 mini's and different versions and modem capabilities, as far as I can tell there is no hardware difference between the models, only that some have 2100 & 850 WCDMA capabilities and that others dont.
Can someone clarify for me if there are any other differences I need to be aware of? The models sold here are listed as 'Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro U20a' and 'Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro' but both tech specs seem very similar.
Are there any particular problems or issues I need to be aware of before loading a custom rom onto an X10i?

[Q] Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro - Andriod 2.1 or 2.2

Hi,
Any one cracked andriod 2.1 or 2.2 for Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro...?
Nope don't think so. I think this forum would be the first place it'd be posted
2.1 is officially near, suspected in the next few weeks according to Sony Ericcson Russia, which have tweeted (Translated into English) - Android 2.1 Xperia update is close.
They then later tweeted - much closer than you think.
This means it is expected to be released towards the end of Q3, and that there should not be any delays.
Note: I got this from the xperia x10 blog, which is keeping me up to date at the moment.
Sorry it's so late guys.
TS
Just stumbled upon this thread...i KNOW it's old, but I had to mention for any future stumblers: The original poster GOT THE NAME WRONG.
He meant the xperia X10 mini/mini pro.
there is a new SE phone out called the Xperia Mini/Mini Pro (no X10 in there).
so, although it is retarded naming by Sony Ericsson, make sure that you are not here looking for Xperia Mini Pro stuff, but rather, Xperia X10 Mini Pro.

[Q] Can pro have double-touch ?

Just as the title...
Can min Pro have double touch??
Thanks for answer...

Can anyone confirm Multi touch for x10 Mini NOT Pro
Saw the blog here.. Seems Xda team did it again. Is it supported on X10 mini as well?
nope. mini and mini pro have different hardware on MT so there should be a different script for the mini

you mean X10 mini will never have MT? I think both have the same screens. Am I right?
I saw an article on endgadget but cant port links since my posts arent yet 10 but I will quote it
However, this one isn’t your usual run of the mill rumor. Our friend Michell over at se-blog did a little bit of research on his own. He managed to contact Synaptics, who are a supplier of touchscreen technologies and learned that the X10 mini sports a ClearPad 2000 solution, which means it supports dual touch, which is the basic form of multi-touch. It may not be available out of the box due to the device launching with Android 1.6 onboard, but it’ll certainly be enabled once the Android OS is updated.
Strangely, Synaptics is the supplier for only the X10 mini and not the X10 mini pro. Is it because Sony Ericsson thought that the mini would be crippled due to the lack of a physical keyboard and hence opted for the technology to provide a better experience? No idea. Sony Ericsson do have a knack of taking strange decisions, this one being another addition to the list.

Actually the reverse is happening. Now I am seeing multitouch on X10 mini Pro but not X10 mini

I'm sorry, you will never have MT , engadget its the worse gossip publisher, and no, Mini pro have different digitizer (CYP-CY8CTMA300), better than mini, better than even big X10, capable with multitouch, and no dualtouch like X10 (Clearpad2000), or single touch like mini (Clearpad1000).. sorry, but let it die!

? Why is Mini Pro capable of while Mini isn't?! I mean Mini relies only on its touchscreen whereas the Pro might even add functionality to some apps with the keyboard.
Anyone knows the answer why SE chose for that? (was mini released before the Pro i.e.? Or maybe loves the Pro more, like I do? ).

[Q] xperia mini port to x10 mini?

[Q] Xperia Mini & Mini Pro to get 2.3 GREAT !

Well im talking about new launching xperia mini & mini pro NOT xperia x10 mini & mini pro
Guys i have a suggestion..... Let me know your views.
Well i think this way,
Since SE is not planning on giving any upgrade to xperia x10 mini & mini pro...But is going to give it to the new xperia mini & mini pro which SE is launching.....
I think we should all convince SE to give out an offer for existing xperia x10 mini & mini pro users to exchange their xperia x10 mini & mini pro for new xperia mini & mini pro (which they are lauching or i guess launched in some places) @ a minimal cost say between 20% - 50% of the new launching xperia mini & mini pro or whatever we all agree on???
Cant we trying doing this....?
XDA has lot of members & i think wid all this no. of members we can atleast try???
There's already rumours about the 1st gen mini & mini pro getting 2.3.
The newest source (Vodafone Australia Blog) has said they could be working on it within 6 weeks or less. So things are certinly looking good for those who have the older xperia range.
This is recived 2 weeks after it was announced that the x10 would get an update to 2.3 due to demand.

and here's the link to the blog. http://blog.vodafone.com.au/blog/device-software-wrap-up-110804/
GREAT!

Odd, why would a carrier just drop a whole range of phones like that?
and oh yes, i heard it from vodafone staff too when i first bought my MP. but i didn't buy it too long after the 2.1 update, so i wasn't too fussed about the software, the design was what sold this phone to me
and then... i found you guys and all was good!
but now (mini pro) we have the full 5MP camera (not sure if the mini has it yet) in our custom roms im not sure that there is a point to getting it as on the x10 they didnt even update the kernel so i doubt there woould be any benefits unless they enabled multi touch further than we have from slades driver (e.g 3 point or the full 7)
Already have it.
Yeah to have the official one would be nice.
it's an aquired taste, some people don't want all the extra in the roms like Cyanogenmod. and just want the official upgrade

Because of bugs and problems and android not screaning aplications properly before putting them on market
Were only going to be doing wp iphone and blackberry
Such a shame I think
But also vodaphone au removed the post and commented on there fb page to say it was a mistake

[Q] which Xperia mini pro is best for ICS and additional apps?

hello,
I would like to buy any Xperia mini pro with hardware keyboard. I would like to flash phone after buying to get Android 4 ICS.
Please let me know which hardware version should be best for me - for which should I looking for on auction portals.
there is a lot of options like as sk17 and and sk17i - e.g what is the difference?
regards
Hey. The "i" at the end of the model number stands for International. There's also sk17a, which is the American version, and it works on different frequencies. So, unless you're in the US, Canada, Latin America, get the international version.
Edit: Stock ICS is slow and buggy on any Xperia 2011 device. If you really want to use ICS, try a different device.
