So I was doing the whole fastboot thing and during the process of "erasing cache" I accidentally knocked the USB cable out.
Now the phone won't turn on at all, the lights don't even come on nor does the computer detect it when plugged in, it doesn't even display a screen when plugged into a power outlet or anything :-(
what can be done to save it?
Take it you have tried removing the battery and can you get it into Recovery mode
lufc, he may have smae problem as me, fastboot erase CATCH has bricked his phone and till now I cannot find support for this issue eighter.
It was completely dead, no fastboot mode, no recovery mode, even no QDL mode is available.
I am thinking about teardown my DELL and restore the 2G internal microSD, but I have asking for support from other senior guy, but no one have idea about all of this.

There is a long thread at MoDaCo that discusses replacing the internal sd card. If you just want to reformat to original the info is there, you just have to weed it out of the noise.
I have just received my streak back from dell. I used the fastboot -w command and had a dead tab.
It spent less than an hour in Budapest, Hungary before being sent back to me.

I have read that thread once last time, but my problem is I think fastboot has destroy my internalSD structure and data, so I cannot do "dd ...", I was asking if some one can give me idea on how to format it, or some one can backup his/her internalSD for me.
u can unbricked ur dell streak by jtag
riif box and ort jtag can do it nicely
Do you have the pinouts for DELL streak, I just want to see it before I buy RIFF BOX.
Do I need to tear down the Streak?
The same thing happened to me.
No solution, I'm afraid :/
But, I even didn't use fastboot, my phone had just got empty and wasn't able to turn on since then

Since 2 days, I am searching for a solution for the same issue. Has any one got a way to fix.
This thread is old but, Fastboot erase cache super bricks streak5's
the only (might not even work) way of unbricking is dissembling the phone, taking out the innerSD and reformatting it to it's original condition.
The easier way is to avoid fastboot erase, it is never actually needed as factory reset accomplishes essentially the same thing but without the risk of super bricks
I do not remember in which forum I followed such instruction i.e. erase cache. Nevertheless, what do you mean by
taking out the innerSD and reformatting it to it's original condition.

is there any tutorial for this, because I might do it once I leave with no other option case.
there is a post mentioned previously (either in this thread or on the forum) on how to replace the innerSD
I have not tried it myself so i'm only reposting whawt i know
Any Update on this ? I am stuck with same? Any solution please...

I have never bricked it before, and I cannot go into download mode... I tried the the Vol up and vol down, didn't work, so I have been using ADB and just ****ed something up....
Now I need to know a way how I can revert back to stock, please and thank you, I will forever owe you one.
EDIT: Okay there is some confusion, to simplify it I will take it step by step:
I replaced an APK file from my system/apps and ever since it has been force closing process.android.acore, so I tried reflashing to stock, it froze while doing so now I have a picture of a caution sign, a phone and a computer coming up on my Vibrant, it will not start up.
It is hardware locked because I have never been able to access download mode via hardware keys(I have always been using ADB).
Is there any way I can reinstall stock? Or is my vibrant now destroyed?
what exactly were you doing when your phone stopped working? "just ****ed something up" makes it hard to pinpoint problems...
I don't know I replaced my phone.apk with another one then ever since then it keeps saying process.android.acore has stopped working. It wouldn't stop showing up so I tried to reflash with Odin to stock but it froze and now it is bricked.
bumping a little bit, I have never bricked it before so I have 0 experience.
What do you mean by froze? On what screen? How far can you get into booting?

Alright let me start over with more detail:
I tried to replace the dialer so I replaced the phone.apk and then process.android.acore kept force closing so then I tried reflashing with stock, during that I don't know what happened but I think my phone froze, so then it shut off and turned back on, I only found a screen with a computer on it... I am assuming it is bricked.... I also know it is hardware locked because I tried going into debug mode with vol up and vol down, how can I unbrick it?
Try moving the stock rom into the phones internal memory via adb. And flash it after a wipe.
I am Also having this same problem
I Flashed my Vibrant through Rom Manager to Froyo 2.2 from eugene373 and sombionix.
After flashing to both ROMS for Froyo I wanted to revert back to 2.1.
I tried to put sombionix 1.3 eclair ROM back on to my phone using clockwork mod.
The flash was not successful it stopped in the middle but the phone came on with a Force close error of an android process.
I tried to reboot through adb reboot recovery with usb debugging enabled.
The phone shut down like it would reboot into recovery mode and now it gets stuck on boot at the samsung vibrant screen.
I tried to use ODIN to flash back to the stock Rom but the phone is recognized in ODIN but will not flash.
ODIN sees the phone but will not get past flash analysis. (Sat for 8 Hours)
I believe this is the definition of bricked. Please Help!!!!!

If there is an answer, which I am not sure that there is, it would be here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782739. You may have already seen it, but if not it gives many different processes to try. Good luck!

Can you get the phone in download mode?
Did you try this:
Pull battery
hold the volume up and down
reinsert the battery whiles still holding down the volume up n down
plug in usb cord
it should put you back in to DL mode
Open ODIN and unplug phone from PC and plug back in hopefully it will notice it then.
I am not sure if you can get in DL mode and it just wont let you do anything, but if you have already tried this my apologies.

I see some people have mentioned jigs which force the phone into download mode; does this mean the phone is effectively unbrickable?
I never bricked my SGS but its always nice to have something cheap to fall back on if something messes up.
Also I've seen some links to Jigs which cost near £100 - http://www.samsungparts.com/Products/Parts_and_Accessories/PID-GH99-36900A.aspx?model=SCH-R560TSAMTR
But there are ones on ebay for like £5. - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Samsung-Galax...ile_Phones&hash=item19c5741bea#ht_2489wt_1298
Is there a difference between them?
cheers
This is definitely hard to brick it. When you can force it into download mode.
Hard to brick yes unbrickable a very very big NO .
Idiots are everywhere .
Cheap jig will be OK especially if you buy from an XDA guy .

The SGS2 is recoverable as long as the bootloader isn't corrupted, broken wiped or otherwise "on vacation" - which CAN happen depending on what you do.
But as long as the bootloader stays OK, it's kind of "unbrickable", even totally wiped system, kernel and modem partions aren't really a problem.
The Jig forces the phone to boot into bootloader mode (from a backup bootloader even, if neccessary), but usually the "three button combo" does the same.
Some guys were trying to find out how to boot a bootloader from the external SD card - if THAT would've been found out, it would REALLY make it totally unbrickable, so lets hope someone figures it out

I guess it did manage to corrupt the bootloader, which I cannot figure out how as it was connected to kies when I lost power.
I checked and the battery is charged. Windows recognizes it as SEC s5PC100 Test B/D but that's it!

Well, it *has* to be possible somehow, or how else would Samy reflash such phones.
Haveing to open it up for some SPI magic or even completely replacing it would be way too cost intensive.
My guess is they drop in a specially prepped SD card, insert Jig, run Odin, send back - or maybe even without the Odin part, the bootloader on the SD card might already be able to completely reflash the thing.

That sounds like the Jig could actually help you.
Try to get into downloadmode using the Jig and then flash a full stock FW via Odin.
Hi Guys,
I'm guessing that there's nothing that can be done but last hope!
Last night i was trying to update my Gf's Optimus One with little success using KDZ, got to the point where it wouldnt boot, so flashed the original ROM back to it, during the process after a few minutes it gave an error code and the Flash was unsuccessful. Thought' id' reboot the phone into Emergency and try the flash again - it errored pretty much straight away - Pulled battery from phone - reinserted it and now nothing!
The phone will not respond to power on, USB insert, etc Just completely dead..
Im guessing i know the answer already - but is there anything that can bring this back from the dead.... Seriously in the Doghouse!
Cheers

I bricked my phone the same way.
I was trying to flash the original russian Gingerbread with LGMDP and there was a cable connection problem... I chose to erase all data before flashing (EFS Erase ALL). If only mobile devices had BIOS...
No hope, unfortunately. You have to connect your chipset to a computer and manually write all data... Or send to LG Service Center. Just hope they'll fix it for free... (They can't detect how you wiped device's boot loader if all the flash memory is empty)

Thanks for the links - i was working my way through the second one at 3am this morning.. Yes - i've even tried Shaking it
The P500 community has produced some wonderful guides and looking at it seems like the device is almost impossible to Brick completely, just how this happened i havn't a clue, seems ive managed the almost impossible..
I'd more than likely be able to ressurect it if it responded to anything at all - but no power, and nothing when the USB is inserted, no vibration, no lights, no signs of life...
the phone may be under warranty, but ive got to dig out the reciept - and i cant even begin to think where that is..
Well anyway i've had to buy her a replacement today - ended up with a Samsung Galaxy Mini as they dont stock the Optimus one anymore. Closest thing i could find.
Cheers for the help guys - i guess next effort will be warranty repair.
dude pls try uninstallin all the lg drivers usb etc etc and then try it again...it happend to me but ive still managed to ressurect it so try this and after send it to warranty

Just throwing out ideas.
Have you tried rebooting with your phone connected via USB or connected to the wall charger? Maybe that will stop the boot loop so you can get your data off.
Did you set up to save anything on the external sdcard (if you have one)? If so, just pop that in your computer and copy the data off it.
I save all my important data to the external sdcard and back it up to my PC periodically.

following on from this helpful advice... do you see 'wipe cache' when you access recovery? if so select that (up/down volume button and power to select).
If that doesn't work and you've been able to save your personal stuff, you might consider a factory reset. Good Luck
Good Afternoon,
Thanks a lot for your valuable information. I have tried all the suggestions, but unfortunately none of them work for me. It still continues to reboot every 30 sec. Is there a way to do a hard reset to my phone without actually erasing the data? That should not wipe your sdcard, but it will wipe all data. whenever you do any wipe you risk losing data you don't want to lose. I know where you are coming from..........I have had HDD's die with pics on them, but I have managed to recover everything. Sorry I can't be of more help!
the instructions in that link refer to samsung not moto so I am not sure if doing a factory reset will erase your saved pictures ect.
it might be an idea to take out (if you indeed have one) sd card and see what you've got on there.
After that leave your sd card out and it would seem as if you have no choice left but to do the factory reset and see where you are and if that has cured your problem.

Yeah, I had suggested this.
I think that at some point you have to just face the fact that you are going to lose sh*t you really don't want to. Sometimes that sh*t is really important, but it's a hard lesson learned! :-(
I did a hard reset and to my surprise my Pics and Videos are still in place that's what I need primarily and I got it. Thanks a lot for all the help and suggestions.
Hi, I'm probably not the first to inquire but my search has turned up no real results.
My RAZR XT910 has no recovery system after i once stupidly replaced the stock with BMM and later BMM got disabled while i was trying out the Paranoid Android ROM.
So now the only activity my phone gives is the 'M' logo for a few seconds when i plug it in to the wall.
So, what I'm asking for is if by some magic there's a way to fix this.
In the case of other phones I've heard mention of JTAG but nothing I've been able to find seems to be what would solve my problem.
I've pretty much come to accept that it's a paperweight now, but I justed wanted to know for sure, is it so?
Thanks.

Ended up having to make my own fastboot cable, but it worked!
My beloved is working again.
Factory cable Works as a power supply? Its that the problem, cause i opened the Phone and took and plug the wires directly to the +|- terminal, then i get battery ok, etc. But, not a single pc notebook Or whatever is able to recognized fastboot.. So, Factory cable could fix this? Or is the sale that i did, Just a power suplly to have "battery ok"
