Okay my issue is this. I have a Samsung Vibrant, The other day i broke my screen and i cant see anything. The phone still works fine (i can get all my calls and messages, i just cant see them). My phone is rooted and i was running triggers latest rom with clock work as my recovery. My problem is this I need to get my pictures and videos off this phone but i cant mount my usb because the touch screen isnt working. So i was wondering if i could do it through the recovery screen, problem is i cant see anything so i was hoping someone could walk me through the steps. I can only see one little corner of my screen so i know once im in recovery. I just need someone to tell me how many clicks to make with the volume buttons until i reach the usb mount feature. I tried looking for screen shots but none of them covered the usb mount feature. THANKS
6 clicks down on volume button>press power button> 2 Clicks up on volume button > press power button
THANK YOU!!!!!! i cant wait to get home and try this
if u have lookout free ur pictures will be backed up! so log into lookout from ur pc
You can also download droid explorer and do it that way. Usb does not have to be mounted

LOL, oh man I sure hope you get those clicks right! Hope you don't click it twice or not at all when you think you hit it once or sumthin. I'd find someone with a Vibrant root it and do the 2 phones side by side. Still kinda scary though. Better yet why not just replace the screen? Good luck man!
Hey guys, Just had a question about the HD Dock. When I connect mine, it looks as though the area on the phone u can use as a mouse, and it also shows a little keyboard on the bottom right. But when i click that a keyboard doesnt pop up, also when i try to use the phone screen as a mouse nothing happens?? Is there somewhere to enable this? Or does this not work yet?
It should work fine. Try repeating the phone or rebooting.

Clicking on the keyboard does nothing unless you have the cursor in a area where you can type. But i'll be honest, its hard to use since the cable leading to the tv is short. And i have to be in a arkward position to use the onscreen mouse and keyboard

Is there any way you can set it to mirror the TV's display on the Photon's screen instead?
It would have been nice if the dock had the ability to set the phone flat because then the touchpad screen would be easier to use. It's multi-touch so if you're doing something like playing Angry Birds while sitting in your office it's pretty functional if you can get used to the angle.

Not sure how you would go about this but I really want to ask why? Just because? Or is there a practical reason behind it?

that should work, you might have to disable then re enable when you reboot

I may take a look at that. Not sure when I'd need it but can't hurt to have more tools! Thanks!

some places (with stock, or builds that work like stock) if the light sensor "sees" that it is bright enough the home, back, ect will have the backlight turn off. but i can't see the buttons unless the backlight is on.
i'm using the gummy rom so my button light are always on.
This App ROCKS!!!!
Hey there! I was hoping someone much smarter than i figured these things out and was willing to guide me My phone is a motorola atrix 4g (as reference to any reader )
I would like Car Mode to extend the display timeout from normal use to about an hour
Can I change the "Wake Up" phrase, and if so, where/how?
Can I get it to call open other applications other than the 4 default (hoping to add Torque?
Can I add my screens and buttons?
Thank you so much to all for your help!
For keeping your display on, you could use screebl. With that, the phone has to be flat before it goes into sleep.
Check out the lapdock thread, think they're trying to automate screen resolution change when docked. Should be able to work if you set it up right.
Also, if you're on the stock ROM, try Smart Actions app by Motorola. Think they had an option for car dock.

with "IntelliScreen - screen control" app you can set custom screen timeouts for almost any application.
New to all this, and was wondering if there is a way to use something else to wake and put to sleep instead of power button. Looking for help!!! Can someone walk me thru what to do?
If the phone is on and charged you can plug it in to wake the screen and set the screen time out to something like 30 seconds to have it turn off. There is no tap to wake on this device so that maybe your only option.
Tenounce
Thank u for the answer, but cant always be charging. So is there any way to swipe to wake?

No. There is no form of "touch" to wake on the one max. No kernel support for that function. Don't necessarily need to leave it charging just plug in and unplug for the screen to come on

I use this app, a wave over the proximity sensor wakes up the phone and I have it set to go to sleep when I set it down on a flat surface. I also use screen off app when there's no flat surface

if you are willing to root your device, then you can install xposed framework and explore all the wonderful modules that work under the framework. then install the sense 6 toolkit module and enable the "wake with volume buttons" and map double tap on lockscreen and double tap on home and double tap on status bar to "screen off"... done!

BTW, mine did this before. It cost me $11 in parts. The power button is a removable ribbon cable.
