J have the portfolio for two months and thanks to those of the forum it works perfectly, but every time I was putting it in standby hangs with all the roms that I've tried
j yesterday I put the application SetCPU 2.1.1a and put the mini frequency at 760
j has since come to my portfolio sleep and go out without any problems

Thats very interesting. Perhaps the cpu just does not get enough juice at the lowest frequency. Will try if bumping the voltage helps...

Oh cool, I've just tried that and it seems to work just fine, no more SOD woo hooo! But my main concern is the battery power consumption, will it consume more power if we set higher Min speed?

I made a quick and dirty test on it and it really seems to work. I'll let the device in this state for a couple of days and we'll see. Thank you very much for the tip!

Main battery consumers are display and wifi anyway. I don't think the impact will be that high.
You can also try to set it to slighly over 456MHz, which is only one voltage step higher than the 314MHz. Maybe that is enough. Frequencies over 618MHz are two voltage steps higher.
€: @Topogigi: Please report back if it really works. I will upload a kernel with a slight voltage bump as soon as I have some time. If the SOD can be solved this way, that would be a great advance.

Hmm,normally how long can your Folio last in sleep mode (standby mode). Yesterday I left the device to sleep at 35% battery level, after 8 hours of sleep the battery is completely drained when I checked... Eventhough I never seen any Screen wake up after FolioMod v1.4... so I suspect it does drain power when sleep

Seems to work at 608 too, and the only issue I noticed is that sometimes the tablet wakes up by itself (it happens when it needs to download new emails from Google, for example, and therefore I suspect that wifi is not totally suspended with these settings). But i left it sleeping for a few hours and it never hung when I woke it up. Battery life does not seem to be affected in the way could be expected. Finally I can use the tablet as I hoped to do from the moment I bought it.

I posted a fixed kernel that hopefully prevents the SOD in the kernel thread. As soon as somone makes a flashable .zip out of it, please try and report back.

From my calculations battery drain as follows:
estimated to 3-6% for every 6 Hours of standby
Prior to putting to sleep - I usually end all applications except folio widget.
Firmware: Stock toshiba latest rom.

Wow, only 3-6% for 6 hours of standby? That is impressive good!!!
It's like 100 hours to completely drain which is about 4 days... I think my battery won't be able to pull out such a performance even when I take extremely good care of it (I use AC adapter without battery most of the time, only put battery in when bring outdoor)
Anyway, I think we all very satisfy with what T.S found out about SOD solution, so thanks again!

Sorry, might be misunderstanding here...
Provided battery life is considered WITHOUT using sutcpu parameters to avoid SoD.
This is just a bare stock rom from Toshiba with usual device lockup issue

I have never had the issue after Foliomod 1.4 unmodified.. The only thing i have done other than installing foliomod is tightening the screws on the back of the folio a tiny bit..

Problem
Today I turned on my folio and I got this message:
"The application Google services Framework(process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly."
I try to find it in the internet ,and I found ,to try clear calendar data but it was not helped.. If I turn it off ()the sync it can help?).

[Q] Battery problem?

Hello guys,
My battery lasts for just around 10hrs.

Hey, just read the forum, before posting a new thread. You spamming the forum in this way:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088948
This is quite normal, Calling takes away the biggest chunk of battery life, followed by the screen.
Disable use wireless networks from location and security settings, that should improve battery life significantly. Also make sure that the phone isnt set to auto search for 3g.
thanks very much!!!!
Turn off Background data & u wil save a hell lot of battery. mine gives me a day and half.
VillainROM installed!!!
After installing VillainROM 1.0 and calibrated battery, it goes already 4 days(of course have left only 18% for now). But I´am very fulfilled with that. Before in Froyo and calibrated battery I get only like 2 days. I recommend you to try it(VillainROM 1.0).
CHEERS!
It depends of how much apps are running in background and if you use push notification, 2G or 3G, wifi...

[Q] Ridiculous Battery Drain

Guys, I'm getting ridiculous battery drain (100-200 mA, all I do is texting). Can somebody help me finding out what the problem is? I'm running the VillainROM with the OC Kernel.
In the Battery Usage-section it says that 'Display' is taking up 65%. I've already tried to turn off my overclock (1.5GhZ) but that didn't fix it. I've done the FastDormancy trick, and freezed all the bloatware through Titanium Backup.
I'm running the stock launcher, with Beautiful Widgets. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, I'm already on 83%..
Thanks in advance!

I got the same last week, just before I got myself in a boot loop.
The fix for that seems to have gotten things back to reasonable.
Less than 1%/hr now in idle (wifi or 3G on, some syncs).
Procedure right on top in SII Q&A by pulser.
(wish that was there last week )
PS: I am on Lite'ning 1.1 now, but that should not make that big a difference.

I see. I will reflash my entire ROM and start from scratch, and I'll report back. Thanks for the help, mate.
where are you able to see current mA usage? was my understanding this is not available on the SGS2.
There is nothing wrong with your phone. The screen will use that much power. 200ma is very low for the screen. On my old Desire 400ma with screen on was normal.
Also the white color will use more power then other colors.
yeah where can you see the current mA usage?
I also would be very interested in where OP got his battery readings.
Really wanted to test the effect on the battery from different settings, but from a statistical point of view, battery percentage alone is worth nothing. Need these readings.
I've reinstalled my ROM, it's lower now but it's still way too high (70 mA)...
I get the readings from Battery Monitor Widget Pro. After installing, go to settings and put battery capacity on 1650,
Then go to 'history' and you can see mA usage
yes, unfortunately this is only an estimation as Samsungs battery driver does not include mA data.
Thats why CurrentWidget does not work, battery Monitor just gives you an educated guess calculated from percentage and usage i believe.
yes samsung is using the max10742 fuel gauge chip, and the damn thing does not give current readings, only voltage, temperature, etc. many other fuel gauges DO give current readings and it is very helpful. i wish samsung would switch to some other already...
battery monitor widget is estimating...

Battery drain while powered off!

I have a serious problem.
My battery is draining more charge when it is powered off than when it is on!
First off, yes, I am powering it off and not just putting it in sleep.
What happens is this; I power it off for the night, battery at 100, turn it on in morning, battery is at 70-50! Now get this, I reboot this morning, battery instantly drops another 10%!!!!
What on earth is going on here? Does anyone else's have similar problems? I did Google it, but can't find a solution, although it looks like I am not the only one with the problem!
Please help!
Edit: here is a screenshot of my battery use, if anyone wants (sorry, don't know how to post picture other than as attachment)

Mine is US version, comes with 2.3.5.
Use the original version 2.2 Froyo that came with it. I did not want to update because everything works fine. no bugs of any kind. I think I did the right thing, because I have read several bugs related to the update to 2.3.5.
Do not always update is really necessary. Unless something does not work well or update the device will really improve. But this is not always true.
In my case the battery has excellent durability. An exception to games but that's with any Android. Even with a 2500 MAH as the G70. Luckily, I'm not adept at games.

I've notcied that my battery would drain faster when connected to wifi at home.
I have 5.0, 2.3.5 US version. I had a problem getting mine to charge to 100% (seemed to stop at 80%), but finally it hit 100%. Got to 80% in 3-4 hours, got to 100 in 6 hours extra!
Mine seems to drain "normally", at 65% after 23 hours. Not been doing a lot with it, just messing with apps (installing, rearranging). I always turn off wifi when not using it (especially if there's none around).
You might install "Power Tudor" and see what exactly is using that much power to drain yours that fast. Could be something stuck syncing (like if you have mail set to sync every 10 minutes).
Well, the thing is, it shouldn't be syncing or doing anything while powered off! Oh well, I have just gone to putting in airplane mode, then letting it sleep at night, doesn't burn any battery that way anyway!
Just curious, isn't "airplane mode" the same as just turning off wifi, since it has no cell radios?
I also question the time scale on the battery chart, never seems right to me. If your graph is 10 hours, and it was off at night, I would think it should register than 6-8 hours (or whatever your "night" was. Looks like it was only about an hour.

airplane mode turns off all antennas (wifi,GPS,FM radio). Yeah the battery chart doesn't make Denver to me either, but whatever.
Just keep it plugged in at night, I guess.

[Q] Any tips for maximize usage time ?

I have read a lot of threads regarding battery life.. But I really don't care having 2 days with 3 or 4 hrs of screen time.
My deep sleep is actually very good 96%-97% in 8 hours... But I want to know what to do to minimize the battery USING the phone while browsing.. Screen brightness I always have it a lowest possible.. Also have it UV a bit, using LiLRom 1.5.1 with entropy 3/5 right now is dropping like 1% in 3-4min... Is there anything else I can do to increase the time for lets say around 6-8min ? I guess 10min/1% will be impossible..
80% of the power usage is due to the screen. That's the price we pay for amoled.
Disabling "Use Wireless Networks" under Location and Security in Settings helps.
That will stop the apps that you are using from unnecessarily polling your location. For example, I've seen Facebook turn on GPS every time I access it even when all I am doing is checking my Wall. Turning off above mentioned option prevents this.

Yeah I have read your thread and is a very nice one but the problem on that thread is that it became some sort of competition of which combo rom/kernel have the better battery for a period of days.. And not squezing the most of screen ON but using the phone. I did some test a few months ago, and if only the screen is ON but without touching the phone it will get nice times. But once you start touching the phone is when the power consumption is bumped.
But will be nice to see a guide with some values to mess with freq,mv,etc.. to get a balanced consumption between usage and performance..

Battery suddenly worse as well as charging time

I recently charged my phone overnight and suddenly the battery has gotten worse. I thought it was an error with the ROM possibly so I updated it and to no avail. On Ampere the battery health is good but the actual speed of charging fluctuates from 10ma to 1830ma (but it also peaked at 4880 so take that with a grain of salt). The battery has also been lasting a lot less than before. I'm running the default Global ROM. Any help is appreciated as currently I'm charging it fully to try and calibrate it.

yeah I've noticed bad battery on last 2 updates, 7.3.6 and 7.3.7 global rom. Looking in installed apps, runing, I can lots of processes stuck on restarting all the time.
My battery was actually charging normally but the max amount of usage was like 4 to 5 hours SOT and in normal use one day and a half... This happened to me after flashing CM13, though i don't charge the developer for this "Problem" as it might not be the dev's fault but mine...
