I'm running DAS BAMF 1.2.1
For some reason, when adjusting the sound profile from the home screen with the volume rocker to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate to confirm you're setting it to that.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I could have swore it did this in stock.
Anyone else?

Can't confirm that bug with Das Bamf, but yes, the stock OS and my debloat both will vibrate to confirm that you've reduced the ring volume down to the "vibrate" setting.
Are you sure you're not setting it to silent which comes before vibrate? Only thing I could think of to suggest because mine still vibrates when I set it to vibrate from the home screen using the volume rocker and I'm using BAMF also.

yeah make shure u dont stop before vibrate on silent
Well, my volume toggle is setup as vibrate-silent-(low-high). Like, the lowest setting.

Do you think a reflash of the most recent kernel or rom would fix this for me? Sounds like I'm the only one with this problem.

Ahh, just did a test receiving call on vibrate and it doesn't. Going to do a reboot then reflash.

Never mind. I just went into settings and unchecked then rechecked everything again and it now confirms vibrate.

So I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if it was just me..
I've noticed that no matter what my ringer volume is set to, it blares as loud as it can. If it's at one tick above silent it will be super quiet, but any more and it's at max volume.
I also noticed that when the alarm goes off, the side buttons do nothing. Even when the side button behavior option is set up properly in the alarm options.
Anyone else seeing this stuff?

Ringer:
I have not had this issue.
Alarm:
I tested this and the volume buttons don't do anything....but if you use the power button it will snooze the alarm.
As far as the ringer, try turning off the pocket mode.

In your sound settings is the box checked for "use incoming call volume for notification volume"?

Im running stock 2.3.4, but I had this issue with custom ROMs too.
The only time my phone vibrates is for phone calls on silent.
I have it set to always vibrate, and in the messaging app I have vibration turned on.
I know this is a decently common issue, but any solution I've found won't work.

On my other phones, when you keep pushing volume down, the ringer transitions from ring, to vibrate, to silent. But on the the photon, it goes from ring to vibrate. How do I tottaly silence it?
I wish there was a silent toggle. Sometimes I want both the ring to vibrate...but not always. I need a quick toggle.
if you press and hold the power button. it will pop up a menu. sound off is one of the options. you can also set the sounds off using the settings app.
I'd recommend downloading "simple sound profile widget" - it is similar to the profiles back when I had a nextel and a black berry. I put a widget that has the option of normal, silent, or vibrate - very quick and easy!

Or just hold the down volume key and when you feel it vibrate, you will be in Silent mode...
I know what u mean
This option was gone since froyo for some weird reason
Only cm7 brings that way back (via volume rocker)

Oh yeah. Probably would've helped if I read teh manual, but who does that
I wish there was a way to turn on vibrate individually quickly instead of going through the settings.
Huh?! It isn't gone. I use it all the time. Just press and hold the down volume key and it'll switch to Silent Mode...

it either goes ring to silent
or ring to vibrate
as i said back in the day, it would go from ring to vibrate to silent
to the OP, go to settings, sound, and play with the vibrate settings and ull get what u want
Yeah, that's right...
My bad, I didn't really check.
Damn, why'd they remove that feature...

Since updating to ICS, a feature I really miss from GB is the turn over to mute funtion for SMS. Sure it works for a phone call ringtone, but that's all. Even trying to turn volume down dooesn't work (by the time i've pressed the volume rocker enough times to change to silent, the tone has finished!)
Anyone got any other ideas on how to mute an SMS notification quickly?
Get a short SMS notification sound
Sorry couldn't help it. But as soon as I press my volume button the sound mutes. Only have to press it once.

Does anyone else have their phone vibrating as the music plays with the volume all the way up on Poweramp Pro?...I have searched as much as I can and I am now turning to you guys to see if there is something I am missing in the settings...It seems like it will drain the battery to have the vibrator going to the beat of the music the whole time it's playing...With two presses of volume down it stops...Only when the volume is all the way up does it do this...Is there a setting on the phone or in the app that I can turn this off?...
Yes go into settings sound and turn auto haptic feedback off

I see now...Thanks...It's the auto haptic on/off that fixes this...I didn't know that it would allow you you check and uncheck apps so I have unchecked it now...I'm coming from an EvO 3D so this is my first taste of ICS...I am amazed at the amount of settings ICS has...
Yeah ics is super Dev. Friendly
