I have a free app I downloaded from the market but noticed its not there anymore. How do you extract it from the phone so I can put it on my friends phone?

But if the app is installed you cannot use linda and find it..you wont...best way is by using root explorer...requires root...navigate to "data" ..then "app" and copy it from there

Hi guys, I am currently using the multi-touch keyboard that comes with Axura 2.1 rom, and I wanted to flash the new gingerbread 2.3 android keyboard, but when I did that the multi touch keyboard disappeared and the 2.3 keyboard was there, but I want both! So my question is, how do I add the new keyboard in my input options?

you should be able to pull the apk from the zip file under system/app and then install it as you would any side loaded app. Maybe I'm wrong but thats what i would try first.
rename it, then side load. give that a shot.

I took the .apk, renamed it, and put it in my system/app, but it didn't work. And whenever I tried installing it like a normal apk, it wouldn't install, now what do I do?

Download the zip. In rom manager install cwm. Then hit install from sd card or.install rom, find the zip from the webpage listed above. Check backup when the preinstall box comes up. And hit install. These directions are kinda rough so.if you have any questions pm me. Good luck

I want to uninstall Google Maps but I can't find how to do it. I've done a search on the subject but all I've found is how to uninstall the updates. I tried to use TiB but maps comes back after the phone is rebooted and I tried to use Root Explorer but I can't find any maps file.
Root explorer, system/apps/maps.apk

Thanks that's where it was hiding
A simple search in Root Explorer or similar app would have told you where the file is.

If it's a system application then you can find it if your device is rooted ..

Edward Cullen, no offense but that was a n00b statement. If he installed it by himself it cannot be a system application. Also, the file of any app (even user app) is available in /data/app
AND, rooted or not, the app Explorer by Speed Software allows you access to those system files. Only difference is that you cannot write, but you can find the file and COPY (not move) to /sdcard.

Zip files are not native to the device and are not recognized as valid files. You need to download an app that recognizes zip files like estrong file explorer then try redownloading.

Is it that you can't dl any type of file? What about apps? I ran into a somilar problem with a HTC inspire. There was a folder to delete that fixed it. There's a post around here somewhere for that.

Not really sure if this is gonna work, try installing Astro file manager, then go to "preferences" (or "options", idk, I have the app in spanish) and select the option "Web browser downloader" (or something like that)
Since I did that, I don't remember having issues to download any kind of file.
