Hey,
I'm currently on WB his ROM with baseband 54.
Is it safe to upgrade without problems to 58?
What are it positive sides and stuff?
Thanks in advance.

yes it's save! just dont forget to dissable the whipe userdata option in the flash tool.
You're on wolfs rom so it would improve your battery performance, if you don't like 58 you can always flash back to 54
If you are going to use custom firmwares, your best choice is the baseband recommended by each developer. Check the different threads for which baseband to use.
Just flashed Baseband .58 phone booted... Now I will look if there is something wrong!
Thanks for the help!
upgrade WB CM 6.1.3 V4.7 BB54 to 58
hi
i am on WB CM 6.1.3 V4.7 (with bb 54) and have problem of battery drain and charging battery! (after 10 hours charging : 40% battrey charged!! and it is hot!)
i want tu upgrade to WB v 5.3 with "base band 58"
how can i upgrade 54 to 58??
PS: i m in Iran . any one knows that if bb 58 works on in my country??
ps2: with SEUS backe to stock 2.1 , i will have 54 or 58?
ps3: before i install WB cm6 v 4.7, i had stock 2.1 bb 54 (upgrade with SEUS from 1.6 to 2.1)
First of all about the battery issue, I would recommend you to wipe the battery stats via xrecovery. That should help you out on that account.
Now about the baseband thing. I don't think it should cause you any problems. Flash. 58. If something happens then flash back to. 54 baseband.
But like I said, it shouldn't cause any problems.

Nice.
Don't forget to wipe the battery stats. It always is a good practice to do so while flashing roms and basebands

If you have any different baseband please share...thks
Since so much people had some difficulties with search button or how to change between basebands to switch to/from, here you can find all info to do so.
All Roms/Mods here at XDA may work with different baseband versions so, the first thing you need to avoid enter in constant bootloops after install a new Rom/Mod, is check witch version you have on or phone.
To do that go to

I'd tested some combinaision :
BaseBand 55 + System A024 = BaseBand not found = no Radio
BaseBand 54 + System A0435 = BaseBand not found = no Radio
EDIT :
BaseBand 54 + System A024 = BaseBand not found = no Radio
BaseBand 49 + System A0435 = BaseBand not found = no Radio
I think Each Base Band must be used with it System version...
But Kernel can be mixed :
BaseBand 49 + Kernel A045 + System A024= DualTouch actived on a A024 System

Are you sure about that?) Coz 54 BB comes out with 435 FW, so it IS working. Try to wipe your user data while switching BB's - it helps not getting 'no radio' issue.
Ok, so say that I want to use the new firmware 2.1.1.A.0.6 which has the 55 baseband.
Can I downgrade use the 54 baseband on this firmware? And if so, can I use ROMS that say "for .435" because A06 and .435 are extremely similar just A06 is supposedly faster and improved.
Thanks guys!
I'm glad this is up I mean people that don't have XP at Roms or basebands shouldn be on xda I mean I just got I guess......some XP at this kind stuff last year when I messed up my Eris but this is wonderfull for the new people with x10s

wrong!
i`ve try all possible combinations without any problem.
do i get INSTANTLY radio? NO
but i get it after 1/2 reboots? YES
whats the diff?
So does anyone know what the difference is between 54 and 55? Cuz I've got the 54 with dualtouch and i removed timescape and mediascape so is it worth bothering to update?
i'm running z's beta4 froyo rom, 54 baseband, rooted and all that junk

i think you could not be more wrong if you tried
people need to learn about ROMS and how to modify their phone - they have to start somewhere.
Yeah i agree that people just post rubbish and repeating other topics that have already been started....then they need to learn how to use the forum as well as the methods to mod the phone
i am a total noobie on modifying the x10 and updating the BB, i have read the thread on how to do it but as there are different ways to do it - i am unsure whats the best way AND i also dont wanna brick the phone.
I am here to learn how to do stuff with the phone now sony have decided to scrap the updates....so why not learn from the best!! (thats XDA )
So which baseband is better? 54 or 55?
I downgraded to 54 and most developers use 54 so its best using that. If you don't use ROMs, might as well use 55.
And honestly 55 is the same, maybe a bit more smoother, but the same nevertheless.

there isnt a major difference..!!
Hmmm..
Since i had to reload 2.1 stock and it flashed .54, my phone has completely given in..
Lagging & overheating for nothing.
Before on .55 CM3.16 v5 was stable.. now it just lags and destroys batteries..
I even re-flashed with seus to be 100% sure.
I love this phone.. but she makes me cry.
Here's the odd thing... it's a x10i... why did it have 55 baseband?
That'll be why SEUS flashed you to 54, it appears to be the latest one it'll put me onto. Though I had no problem jacking it up to 58, it was going backwards to <52 I had issues with
I'm using wolfreak 2.2 rom with .58 bb but i would like to switch to 52 bb for test some kernel! I follow wolf instruction on his thread..i have flashed 52 bb and then the right bb patch but my phone was keeping rebooting..i can't understand why..i tried also j's 52 bb but it is the same..i have tried a fresh install but nothing! My phone boot up but after 10 second it reboots itself..sometimes baseband looks unknown..sometimes looks right (52)..but i can't have the rom stable! Anyone has the same problem?any solution pls?it's a strange behaviour!
Thanks

Here what I have now:
phone: X10i
OS: 2.2.1
BB: 2.1.54
Kernel: 2.6.29
cROM: FreeX10-beta4_zdzihu
I'm pretty much bored of this ROM besides my batery life is less than 1 day (!) and never longer. All I want is fast stable ROM with wifi, camera working (any camcorder) and of course longer battery life time (2 days will be awesome). I was digging lot of the threads, reading about GB roms, newest kernels or deepsleep and I'm a little bit confused with to choose? Do I have to restore my phone to stock each time I change it or just flash it with kernels/bb added by devs to their ROMs? Waiting till August (I expected June) for new stock GB release doesn't satisfy me and I want to have some fun with GB custom rom now. I have my X10i six months for now and I feel it never reached even half of its potential while in my hands.
Please give me some short answers or links and I will more than priciate for it. Thanks in advance and apologize for my bad English.

You have to use root explorer and go to system/kernel and delete the boot.froyo.img and rename the boot.img to boot.froyo.img on 2.2

There isn't any boot.froyo.img file. Should I rename boot.img anyways?

Did you downgrade the kernal when you tried to root with flashtool? you have to downgrade the kernal then root with flashtool the upgrade the kernal after you root.
