DasBAMF 1.3 Bluetooth issue?? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been a lurker here for a long time. But have needed to register in order to figure out if I have run into a bug...or if I did something wrong.
I registered just now...so I am not allowed to post this in the Dev sections...so please forgive me for putting this in the General Section.
I am not new to rooting or loading roms on android phones. So I don't think this is a result of a mistake or issue with either of those processes.
I have noticed that since loading DasBAMF 1.2 (first version I loaded...so can't speak to earlier versions), my bluetooth voice no longer syncs voice with my car. What is weird is the media sync is working fine...but it just cannot connect to the phone for calls.
BTW...It did work when I was using stock OS.
Thanks,

bump....anyone?

did you try wiping ?

oh yes....
Full wipe-> Install DasBAMF1.0-Logged into Google->let sit for 45 mins->checked all contacts settings and what not to make sure everything was settled->recovery-> no wipe->install DasBAMF 1.2->install apps only via TiBackup->used for 2 days->recovery->no wipe->install DasBAMF 1.3
BTW...had the same issue with 1.2 (but that might have been obvious).
Thanks for the response.

Have you wiped since you installed 1.3? I have had similar problems as you, with other devices, and this one, and usually after several attempts I can remove the device from the BT pair window and repair.
I would try the latter first, then do a cache wipe, dalvic wipe and a factory reset and check.

No issues with BT connectivity in my car or my headset. Version 1.3 actually connects faster than the other ones did for me (including ROMs on my Droid 1). I haven't tested it yet but I will with my next ROM but historically my connections have come back using TiBu so I'll be testing that later.

My TB was working with my car radio and syncing via bluetooth. After performing the "1 click" root, having issues with bluetooth and car. Not sure whats up, still have stock ROM. I see others are having this issue even without root.

I just replied in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1018438
for pairing issues with a car, but along the same lines I was able to successfully make a call with no voice/pairing issues running Das BAMF 1.3. I haven't tried the media sync, so I cannot attest for that.

Never got this solved for DasBAMF.
Wiped and restored the virgin OS that only had root and nothing else, then installed 1.2, 1.3, and 1.3.2 ... Bluetooth would not work for voice.
So wiped and installed Liquid ThunderSense...and I am back in business. weird....but hey...at least I am good to go now.

[Q] Connection Issues???

I'm running MR2 Froyo. I was having vm issues and that seemed to been corrected. But now I'm having data connections. I've data wiped (all 3 wipes), and reloaded the OS. It worked for a minute, then it went down again. I'm able to receive calls (phone will ring), but can't hear the person and vice versa. Not able to connect to the web unless I'm connected WiFi. Like I mentioned before, it was working after I reloaded the OS, but hasn't worked anymore.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Edit: Earlier, I was able to check my vm and hear the message. But ever since then, I can't hear anything. Should I go back to stock (non-root), and called CS?

What ROM are you on? Also, what MR2 are you using? Try out the MR2.75 aka MR2 OTA. When you first flash it in let it marinate a bit before trying to use it.

[Q] Bluetooth Issues - Partial Workaround

I'm currently on v0.4 of Naven's Atrix port and can't seem to get Bluetooth to fire up. I don't remember having this problem with older versions of this ROM.
Using both the widget control and the prompt in Settings, Bluetooth tries to turn on and ultimately, fails.
I found these potential fixes doing my due diligence:
1. Uncheck Compatibility Mode in SpareParts
2. Download and run Bluetooth Fix Repair
3. Open Bluetooth Share in Settings>Applications and wipe data/cache
4. Wipe cache and dalvik in Tenfar's System Recovery and reboot
5. Move bluetooth apps back to internal memory
Thus far, nothing has worked.
Any ideas?

I'm doing follow-up to my original post, in the event someone ends up experiencing similar issues and searches for a solution.
It's definitely an app or process conflict of some sort. I downloaded a market app, Bluetooth Wall, which has the ability to scan apps and identify those with bluetooth access capabilities.
Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to uninstall all of these apps one-by-one, so I discovered another workaround.
After a reboot, as soon as the home launcher is loaded, I push the Bluetooth toggle to get bluetooth going. This has worked every time, thus far. Unfortunately, if I deactivate Bluetooth at any time afterwards, I cannot reactivate it without a reboot.
According to the battery usage monitor, an unused bluetooth connection (not actively discoverable) is responsible for about 2-3% of total battery life. And with Bluetooth Wall running, my phone should be safe in this state.
Hopefully, I'll get to the heart of this problem after a little more work ...

BT works great with the new 234 sbf.
Unfortunately i don't have Atrix so I can't try and see what happens.
I am the developer of Bluetooth Fix Repair, and I'm always looking to support more devices, so I need to ask you: What did my app say? Unsupported Device, or "Fix Applied, good luck!"
Thanks

Phk,
Thanks for tracking my post down ...
If I recall correctly, Bluetooth Fix Repair ran successfully.
The problem with my X2, though, seems to be an app conflict -- even though I recently flashed to a new build - 2.3.4. from 2.3.3. - the conflict persists.

Lose data connection when using Talk

I'm having a problem that has me stumped.
YouTube
Earlier in the week, I noticed that I was unable to stream YouTube videos over mobile data. I could launch YouTube and it would bring up the top videos. I could search and it would get me results. I could not however get anything to actually play, when I choose a video it will just sit at the loading screen, and my bars will turn grey. I will not get a mobile data connection back until I back out of Youtube. I confirmed this issue with several different videos while in different parts of the state, so it isn't limited to a certain video or tower.
Google Talk
If I am at the main screen that shows who is online/offline, usually this will display properly. However as soon as I pick a name and go to send a message, my bars will turn grey and I will lose my data connection. It will not come back until I back out of Talk. Sometimes after this happens I can reopen talk and it will sit at the main screen for a while, get mobile data back, and display who is online and who is not. Most of the time, Talk will not work again until I force close it.
Edit: Talk will not disconnect until I actually send a message. The message makes it through most of the time, but then I lose mobile data. This results in Talk saying "Lost connection to Server. Messages will be sent when online."
I am on CM7 Nightly 20 with the stock CM7 kernel since the day Nightly 20 was released. Just to be safe, I did a full wipe in Fastboot erasing the following partitions before re-flashing: userdata, cache, webtop, system, boot.
I am unsure when this problem started. I know that YouTube worked last weeks, but when I think back, I can't remember the last time Google Talk worked while I was on mobile data. Note though, that while on Wifi everything works just fine.
I'm at wit's end here. I'm going to wipe the phone again and install stable Ba2tF and just Google Apps, and see what happens (after I flashed Nightly 20 earlier today I had the Market start spam reinstalling my apps before testing Google Talk - though I did get to test it and have it lose data after just a few apps were installed).
I'm on 30P for the radio, AT&T, Western Massachusetts, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
I was going to post the same exact problem. The problem only appears over cellular. Over WiFi, everything works fine. Also, I just reflashed stock and it works. So it would seem to be a problem with CM7 and/or AT&T.
I'm going to get a good logcat of what's going on after I narrow it down a bit more... my current log is 1MB, which as about 2 minutes of info. I'm going to try to narrow it down to just the few seconds from when I hit "send" to when I get disconnected.
Hopefully at that point someone smarter than I can figure out what's going on.

Just thought I'd chime in and give some feedback. Tested this out on Weekly #2 both with wi-fi and regular data and everything was working as it should. I've been through a few different versions of CM7 and have not run into this.
Have you been using the same gtalk .zip each time? Maybe try re-downloading it along with your fresh install? Also, have you re-flashed your radio?
And here is a logcat capture. I force closed Talk, started the capture, launched talk, connected, pressed on my roommate's name, and lost my connection. The part that says "<SNIP>" is where my email address was.
I'm going to upload it here, then start to go over it myself.

Yeah, the GAPPS package ROM Manager lists as newest is still 20110828, which is also listed as newest on the Cyanogen Wiki. I never re-downloaded it, I've always used the same .zip everytime I've needed it... which is since Pre-Beta1.
I didn't flash my radio up to 36P when it came out since some people reported issues with it, and 30P had been working fine for me since June/July.
I am going to try to re-flash Google Apps now, this time without using the new version of talk that supports the front facing camera... since I never used the functionality anyway. I will report back in a few minutes.

I tried reflashing both AT&T radios and both versions of Talk (w/ and w/o video chat).
For me, I get disconnected as soon as I open Talk. Happens every time. I froze Talk and I was disconnected when I got a Gmail notification. Maybe it was a coincidence but either way I was disconnected so the problem isn't limited to Talk. Maybe it's a problem with the Google Services Framework.
Here is what I think is a better logcat of what happens. This time, I setup CM7 to have long press back kill the currently active process, so that I could kill Talk right away.
I started the logcat from killing Talk and hitting the home button while it was restarted. I sent one message that said "Son" to my roommate, and lost my data connection. I then waited 20-30 seconds, killed Talk, it restarted, I got data back, I sent another message to my roommate that said "disconnect", and I lost my data again.
NOTE: This is with the Talk from the newest GAPPS (fresh download with ROM Manager), but not the one with the camera support (camera crap was cluttering the logcat anyway).
Anyone who is smarter than I able to see what's going on here?

Same problem with CM7 Beta so I'm guessing there's some problem between CM7 and AT&T. I'm on AT&T in NYC.
I have a list of ROMs this does NOT happen on. I went back and restored to several points trying to figure out exactly where the problem started, and while I didn't find that, I do have a list that it does and does not happen to.
Talk Works on:
Prebeta2
Prebeta3
Prebeta4
Stopgap
Ba2tF
Weekly1
Nightly8 (likely it works on Nightlies 1-8, I just never made a backup after that and went right to 20 so I dont know exactly where the issue started with nightlies)
Talk does NOT work in:
Weekly3
Nightly20
So at some point between Nightly9 and Nightly20 (which includes the commits for Weekly3), something happened with Talk that is causing it to drop your data connection when you send message or refresh the friend list.
If any Dev happen to stumble upon this thread, I did take a logcat dump and linked it above as a txt file called "betterlog.txt" which clearly shows two disconnects while using Talk without having a lot of other "noise" in the logs from other things happening on the phone.

Same problem, only I have this in Ba2tF. Odd thing is, I was running Ba2tf for some time, then all of a sudden this issue just appeared. I couldn't get it to clear, even after wiping data, caches, re-flashing etc...
Looks like this is nothing new. Check out CyanogenMod issue 3557.

Same problem in Ba2tF. I was running Ba2tF for several weeks, then this problem just popped up. Couldn't get it to clear.
Looks like an old CyanogenMod issue. Issue #3557.
I don't know if it's AT&T that changed or CM7 but the problem's gone since I started using weekly #4.

Data / Wifi / Bluetooth not working

I have read thru a few threads, but they all vary so I am not sure if this is the same issue so i apologize in advance if there is a thread with an answer somewhere...I certainly hope it is not a hardware issue!!...ugh..
I recently flashed Nottach's ROM to my Atrix 4G (excellent ROM!) and was in the process of loading apps and "fine tuning" it to my style and preference when I noticed that my WiFi, Bluetooh and Data are no longer working. I didnt install anything other than a couple of apps that I have been using (GoLauncher, ADW Locker, etc.) so I am not sure why everything stopped working.
I can still make and receive calls and text messages, but I am unable to connect to WiFi ( it sees WiFi signals but it doesnt get past "Obatining IP Address"). Bluetooh enables and disables right away. And I dont see any activity from the Data icon.
I have tried reflashing the ROM, Factory Reset, Wiping Partition/Dalvik, Resetting Permissions, etc. but none of these seem to have an effect on the issue.
I have seen other posts in various forums where some one mentions similar issues and they talk about flashing the antenna via RSD to get it to work, but links to the antenna ROM all seem to be broken.
Any help in getting this resolved would be GREATLY appreciated!
FYI - My phone is Unlocked and I believe it is still Rooted.
Thanks!
Well.. after playing around with reinstalling the ROM I set the Kernal back to Stock AT&T and everything appears to be working again.
So I think the fact that I was using the Faux 1.3Ghz kernal may have caused the issue, which is odd since everything was working fine for about a day before the problem started happening.
Oh well.. i will play around with different kernals to see if there may be a compatability issue some where.
Hopefully this info helps others.

issues since 4.4.2 update

It's only been a couple days since i updated but so far all has not been smooth like it was with the last ota update.
SMS has been quirky..missed texts and wrong time stamps. May just be the google hangouts app. I will be using stock messaging app until i figure this out.
Also noticed issues with bluetooth and ford sync..albeit an older 2012 version of sync. Audio stutters and sync doesn't recognize the phone unless I manually seek bluetooth devices. Had to delete old phone connection in the sync settings and re-pair the phone to my car. Seems to be normal now.
Haven't noticed lower connection speeds but I haven't really tested 4G much yet.
I haven't s-off or rooted this phone yet. So I didn't think of even doing a factory reset..may not be a bad idea at this point.
Sorry if this is not new info just wondering what general issues people are encountering.
I would suggest doing a factory reset. With Roms it is always recommended when upgrading major versions of Android to do it clean, and I recommend the same with stock software. I've done stock updates and had issues, but after clean wiping everything went back to normal. I'm rooted and soff but using the stock software and it has been running great without any of the issues you are having. Try a factory reset and see what happens.
