that was it. thanks!

There's a bug that's now fixed in jt's git but only imnuts has updated his actual release to include a working Voodoo Sound recording bit.
So either switch to "original" or switch to imnuts.

what is the voodoo control app, i'm having the same problem??

Voodoo Control from market. Or you could flash a kernel from this thread. Which includes the sound fix and all recording presests settings work fine. And it's a nice kernel. But with all the current kernels that are out voodoo control app is a must.
good day.

[Q] How to control voodoo color behave?

Hello, all, I use the latest version of overstock kernel, and it did have voodoo color.
But how to control voodoo color? I have installed voodoo control app, but no any related to color can be found there.
Turn off auto brightness, set it at 100%
Enjoy the beautiful screen.
More info: http://project-voodoo.org/color
100% is too bright for me. So this means now voodoo color is nothing for me. Wish new version
I noticed in AlanRocks' video review of CM7, he has voodoo color control options in the voodoo control app. Is this only for android 2.3? I do not have it in any 2.2 roms when I open the Voodoo control app.
And yes, I have a Voodoo color enabled kernel.

[WIP/APP] Volume+ (Gingerbread) v1.7 - Advanced Settings

Q - Which is better? This or DSP Manager?
A - Neither. DSP Manager has a fully editable EQ whereas mine has EQ pre-sets and a volume multiplier. They both use the same API's (albeit in a slightly different way) but use different methods to achieve the volume boost. This app can also go much louder than DSP Manager can (not always a good thing!) so you will encounter distortion with the higher values.
THIS APP AND DSP MANAGER WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS IF THEY ARE BOTH ENABLED. PLEASE DISABLE ONE TO USE THE OTHER.
Q - Which is better? This or Voodoo Sound?
A - Voodoo Sound, If your kernel/phone supports it. See thread here - clickyclicky!

Only for Gingerbread (2.3) Roms.

Current Version: 1.7.4

This is only for the main loudspeaker, turn it up too loud and it will distort horribly. You have been warned!
DSPManager will probably not work too nice with this app but it should be ok if you disable the "phone speaker" EQ in the settings.
The same effect can be achieved with DSPManager, but this can go much louder.
This shouldn't cause any damage to your phones speaker (unless you turn it up to +15 or so), but i would strongly advise against playing music out of your phone's speaker constantly. It distorts, therefore it's doing some damage, however minor it may be.
Enjoy!
Update: Volume+ v1.7.4 (ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. WILL BE UPLOADING TO MY WEBSITE SOON)

Sweet, now I can finally hear my ring tone on my N1. Bought your app for my G1 and it was awesome. Keep up the great work.
Awesome! Any chance to include a boost percentage? I find that it's a LITTLE bit too loud.
EDIT: Turned it off as I just realised that it COMPLETELY distorts my notification sound (Pollux).
Yeah its a bit too loud. Ill reduce it a bit tomorrow.

What advantage does this have over the audio boost already in cyan7?
Excellent work. I had your app for my HTC hero many moons ago.
Works great, confirmed working on Nexus One with gingerbread MIUI
Thanks!
So it's like boosting treble in DSPmanager?
Its like boosting everything in Dsp but this can go louder.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I can confirm that it is working on a myTouch slide running CM7RC4. Great work. Any chance of getting a boost on the small ear piece speaker. It is really quiet even when turned all the way up.
Ok so I am waiting for your next version
Update: Volume+
* Many volume settings
* Bass Enhancer (not great on the Nexus, might sound better on different phones, I dunno)

Thanks for the added features. However, it still distorts my notification tone (Pollux) at any setting but low. Any chance a treble fix would help?

Yeah Pollux does, none of the others seem to though. I'll have a look at playing with EQ a little.

Seriously, the speaker on the Nexus is dreadful, there's not a lot you can do.
I'm trying to get a compressor working but it's not responding very well.

you cant say its dreadful..
in cm 6.1.1 the speakers sound was as high as your volume fix does, but it was very smooth without any cracks..
its not yet achieved on gingerbread but that would be unfair to say that speakers are bad, coz on froyo they were loud enough.

what development from the S1 would you like to see in the S2?

the Galaxy S 1 made some huge monuments in development, i hope we can soon see these same achievements achieved on the S2. im trying to make a check list of things from the S1 that need to be done on the S2.. so ill start, please add what you think as well
* ext4 file system (from what ive heard, this is already existent in the S2, so thats a check)
*hacked camera app: ability to use the camera at 2%, and use while playing music
*audio boost: cranking up that music past what comes on board, either AudioBoost2 app, or voodoo sound app
*built in call recorder: record phonecalls right from the dialer
thats what i care about, what about anyone else?

theres an app for that!
its called shades or blinds or something.. i think it comes up in the market if you search brightness.. i had it on my galaxy s before i sold it to buy the s2
I've heard Samsung has included some screen adjustment settings, but I would still love the amazing stuff developed with Voodoo kernals. Ie:
- Screen colour temperature adjustment
- Screen and text sharpness improvements
- Sound control and amp
- Ext4 filesystem support
Voodoo Color
Voodoo Sound
CWM
BLN
Press power to take photo

Its called Screen Filter, its great, I use it daily on my SGSI for reading my RSS feeds in bed (when I dismiss my Tasker alarm it opens NewsRoom and turns on Screen Filter - BAM! Morning paper delivery...).
Should also work for the SGSII I would think.
I'd most like to see BLN support, call recording, and Voodoo Sound.
Voodoo Sound. But Supercurio did tweet earlier that - the Sound hardware of SGS2 is INFERIOR to that of Original SGS.
BLN , call recording. That all i need to buy it
All the rest is a plus ofc , but thats the most important for my daily use.
i'm prolly going to add BLN whenever i get the phone
hopefully some people will have proper CWM/root by then else i'll have to add that too
For the sound and screen color i'm sure sir curio will look at it but this is probably a bigger task as it require studying the current solution etc and there's no guarantee of success

Will it be possible to use BLN with the stock kernel at all? Coming from an N900, I really appreciate the notification LED. Since I'm new to Android, I'd prefer not to start hacking/replacing the kernel to get bln support.
Has anyone received their SGS2 yet and tried this?

IIRC that is defined in the framework source code (at least on most source compiled ROMs I've seen), so should be possible to tweak via APKtool...

[Q] Volume Booster

Hi guys,
I just got a S3 (very happy so far), rooted with Omega 444 (amazing!). Anyway, UI used to use VolumeBoost to increase the volume on my HTC Desire for taking the noisy metro each morning. But it doesn't seem to work on the S3.
I used PowerAmp as my media player.
Any suggestions for the best app for boosting the volume? Ideally it should work without me having to open the app.
Thanks

dont know how volumeboost works, but in combination with poweramp most of the time you have to disable dvc in poweramp settings in order to get sound mods to work

But beware that if you flash a custom kernel with EQ, verify that it doesn't interfere with the Poweramp's EQ or any other app you use. Sometimes, kernel's EQ can be quite sensitive, depending on what you chose.

[AML+Magisk+TWRP][MOD][26/08][v8] Stereo Speaker Mod For Oneplus 6

Moved all of my development efforts from XDA.
Thanks for the hard work, I don't get this instal and reinstall? but please confirm the following:
Flash the op6_v5_stereomod in twrp,
Install AML from magisk,
Reboot.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your work!
There are applications that output sound depending on the proximity sensor (for example, watsapp, telegram). You turn on the voice message, bring the phone to your ear and the sound from the external speaker switches to conversational (that could be heard in public places).
Is it possible to implement it in your fashion or is it technically impossible?
Is it any difference between this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/themes/magisk-stereo-speaker-mod-oneplus-6-t3814512
And u r mod
It literally says EXACTLY what the differences are in the main post dude!
- AML support
- Unity support
This basically means:
- This can work flawlessly with other audio mods.
- This can work with or without Magisk.

Try to create app like op5t stereo mod which helps to control sound parameters like mono, true stereo etc
Sorry to say this but providing any form of GUI or additions to the mod isn't really in the scope of what I set out to achieve here.
The code, however, is freely available on GitHub using the link from the main post - I'm more than happy for anyone to fork the code and add any additional functionality they wish to.
My aim here is simply to provide AML support so things like Atmos, ViPER, etc. can be used seamlessly alongside the mod. I also converted the mod to use "patch" instead of just overwriting the file and switched to Unity so that it could support being flashed directly for those not wishing to run Magisk.
Confirm this is working flawlessly together with ainur sauron & viper4android. Awesome mod for our device! Thank you very much!

Yes it works with Atmos - I ran that for a while myself - worked great.
If you're wondering - I ran the latest build from: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=247761
Not my work - just linking to it since the main post for Atmos links to a 5 month older version by the same dev - very odd.

Do any of these audio mods actually improve speaker quality? The speaker crackles at high volumes right out of the box. Would love to improve it, but wiping to unlock bootloader only seems worth it if there's a noticeable difference

Some of the mods can have a considerable amount of effect on the audio quality but things like Atmos are not going to resolve any audio "popping" or distortion. ViPER may be able to help mitigate the issue.
The purpose of this mod, however, is actually just to enable the earpeace speaker as a secondary speaker so instead of just the one mono speaker at the button - you have a kind of stereo effect (i.e. 2 audio sources.)
I'm sure others can guide better on which specific ViPER settings may help with the issue you're facing but it may be worth tinkering if you're passionate about resolving the issue. That having been said - unlocking the bootloader and rooting does lose you OTA functionality so it's something to keep in mind.
How can permanent increase earpiece volume? If I increase it with ex kernel manager I turns back to normal after switching to standby
What is "AML" and there I get the aml module? ?
I have installed the v5 of stereo mod along with AML and Vioer4Amdroid. How do i control the volume and gain levels of earpiece? I am not able to find the control settings anywhere.

You can change these values in a kernel manager. Also i think you'll need a custom kernel.

Which kernel manager to use to control the sound settings of earpiece?
A kernel manager can do this for you - Kernel Aduitor is probably a good option.
Any kernel though mate - they all have that option as far as I'm aware.
