Q - Which is better? This or DSP Manager?
A - Neither. DSP Manager has a fully editable EQ whereas mine has EQ pre-sets and a volume multiplier. They both use the same API's (albeit in a slightly different way) but use different methods to achieve the volume boost. This app can also go much louder than DSP Manager can (not always a good thing!) so you will encounter distortion with the higher values.
THIS APP AND DSP MANAGER WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS IF THEY ARE BOTH ENABLED. PLEASE DISABLE ONE TO USE THE OTHER.
Q - Which is better? This or Voodoo Sound?
A - Voodoo Sound, If your kernel/phone supports it. See thread here - clickyclicky!

This is only for the main loudspeaker, turn it up too loud and it will distort horribly. You have been warned!
DSPManager will probably not work too nice with this app but it should be ok if you disable the "phone speaker" EQ in the settings.
The same effect can be achieved with DSPManager, but this can go much louder.
This shouldn't cause any damage to your phones speaker (unless you turn it up to +15 or so), but i would strongly advise against playing music out of your phone's speaker constantly. It distorts, therefore it's doing some damage, however minor it may be.
Enjoy!

Sweet, now I can finally hear my ring tone on my N1. Bought your app for my G1 and it was awesome. Keep up the great work.
Awesome! Any chance to include a boost percentage? I find that it's a LITTLE bit too loud.
EDIT: Turned it off as I just realised that it COMPLETELY distorts my notification sound (Pollux).
Yeah its a bit too loud. Ill reduce it a bit tomorrow.

What advantage does this have over the audio boost already in cyan7?
Excellent work. I had your app for my HTC hero many moons ago.
Works great, confirmed working on Nexus One with gingerbread MIUI
Thanks!
So it's like boosting treble in DSPmanager?
Its like boosting everything in Dsp but this can go louder.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I can confirm that it is working on a myTouch slide running CM7RC4. Great work. Any chance of getting a boost on the small ear piece speaker. It is really quiet even when turned all the way up.
Ok so I am waiting for your next version
Update: Volume+
* Many volume settings
* Bass Enhancer (not great on the Nexus, might sound better on different phones, I dunno)
volume cracks even on medium setting..

Update 1.2
* Calculations were wrong making each option louder than it should have been. Now fixed.
* Disclaimer added. Hell, i ain't getting sued!
Thanks for the added features. However, it still distorts my notification tone (Pollux) at any setting but low. Any chance a treble fix would help?

Yeah Pollux does, none of the others seem to though. I'll have a look at playing with EQ a little.

Seriously, the speaker on the Nexus is dreadful, there's not a lot you can do.
I'm trying to get a compressor working but it's not responding very well.

you cant say its dreadful..
in cm 6.1.1 the speakers sound was as high as your volume fix does, but it was very smooth without any cracks..
its not yet achieved on gingerbread but that would be unfair to say that speakers are bad, coz on froyo they were loud enough.

If you haven't, try out this sound mod, V4A, the difference it makes is very noticeable, better than what others out there provide.

This mod it's better than acid audio v7?
I'd say or might end up being down to personal opinion, but from my experience, when using the FX and XHiFi together along with the convolver ir samples then yes it is. It offers a lot more fine tuning.

I will test it
I tested all audio mods on xda, for me the best combination its perseus kernel with his audio driver + acid v7 + neutron player
Let's see what is viper
I can confirm, its better than acid v7, its very good
Sound its loud and very, very clear and much customizable
Great mod, thanks

If your earphone is not used to high volume/bass, with long period of high volume/bass will cause your headset to spoil (without V4A it will also spoil)

I haven't tried it with a kernel that has audio modfications to it, but its should work across all Android based roms.
The mods can be easily installed/uninstalled now, they are regular apks. Run in compatilbility mode if it doesn't appear to be working.

Odd, I struggled to get rid of Beats from any devices I've owned including HOX and my laptop, but good to know that people are willing to voluntarily flash it on Note 2

There are mods for sound volume, but the Sony based ROM's (mine included) even CM based ROM's can't change what Sony have done. and the thing is that even companies like sony... all they can do is change EQ settings which they do with clear voice and +enhancement. So there isn't much we can do, because its all about hardware. The XU has ok hardware, but not fantastic.
So all you can really do is make a custom setting for EQ settings that feels good for you.

Android is fixed @ 44.1 KHz. I'm afraid that just resampling chain will be longer, and whole operation is pointless without kernel driver replacement. Right now we have 48KHz fixed hardware (by kernel driver), so....
Sound player -> any sound mod --- > 192Khz upsample ----> 44.1 Khz android downsample -> kernel driver 48 Khz upsample
All you can really try is this clean audio mod
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1Iy8gxK9tcZS1RhY0REaHFXQ2M/edit?usp=sharing
It increases the volume with clear audio and also increases the bass. But its still just EQ settiings. But with this as a base, you can also improve other settings in the EQ

I made three of my own mods to improve and tweak certain things on a Sony base. But the reason I don't have them in the ROM itself is because most people want to keep it stock. So then you can mod it they way you want. Of course there are tweaks within build.prop that do a lot, but not at a base level.

Well maybe, but given the option within that rom is a great thing to and also easy to get rather than search one forum at a time...yes it's good to keep it stock and like me, also like it that way but a change also recommended....if want stock, why flashing the same thing that what is already there....of course some stock rom like yours have modified to make it better but some little change is also good or given the option to do so within that rom....just my opinion....
Like me, I like it to have a theme, like different icon, added resize widget and maybe like Htc widget, more animation, different battery icon with percentage...just my wish list....some of this can be found on old phone but not today's....just miss it...if I have a skill to make my own Rome I will make it like that, but not possible by my knowledge....

Hi I just tried your sound mod on my xperia z3 1.28 lp firmware. The sound is loud now, I've noticed but I can't seem to control my music volume with phone internal speaker. Once it's at full volume it does not reduce even at zero volume step. I am able to control the volume level with an earphone connected. Can you please fix this issue or tell me what I am doing wrong.
I believe I installed your mod on an unmodified rom.

I believe I installed your mod on an unmodified rom.
Please let me know if you want me to answer any other questions you may have..
Thank you.

Hi, I tried your mod today again with a fresh fw install 1.62,this time the volume control worked and the volume is louder in some places like earpiece calls but not much change in the music volume from internal speaker. I have used your v15 mods on my Xperia z1 earlier and I really love your sound mod. I never looked for any other mod after using yours..

Haha nice to hear, I got working the z4 files for z3 and will release an update with louder internal speaker hopefully, I saw the z4 mixerpath and the volume of internal speakers can be adjusted there, not like the z3 with tfa lines
Holy mother of sound, this mod is awesome, thanks
But to me this doesn't give a boost to youtube, poweramp and mxplayer. The rest is working fine.
Thank you so much for your update. I previously tried your V10 mod made for the Xperia Z Ultra. It was the best mod I've used and never went back.
I'm eagerly waiting for your update, I know it's gonna sound great. Your efforts are highly appreciated.

Waiting anxiously for u to release the latest mod for Z1.Been readings all the positive comments.Keep up the gd work.Hope u will release it soon.
Nice mod. But I prefer not to increase the camera flash light. When I set for time for 2sec, when I look at the camera the light can kill my eyes..
Just a quick update with regards to the sound mod. It is better than it previously was. Sound is slightly louder and earpiece volume is VERY loud when making or receiving calls. There is a little hissing when using the earpiece as it is slightly too loud.
In the next update, you need to slightly reduce the earpiece volume due to the hissing noise when making phone calls. Even with the volume reduced to 30% the hissing is still visible.
These are very minor issues and it is not the fault of the op. Sony have changed the ways in which audio values are changed to take effect.
As dontbelieve has already said, he is working on finding a solution and has managed to find one! He is currently working on the Z4 audio files and will update them with the Z3 ones to give us the best possible sound.
It will take some time before we get the best out of the sound quality thanks to Sony making things very difficult to change.
Knowing dontbelieve, he does an excellent job with regards to enhancing, improving and increasing overall sound quality. Expect his to release several updates, each time with improvements.
With regards to his previous mods, there were a total of 15 updates, 15 being the final. Each user had a preferred setup. Some preferred version V14, other V15. The majority, including myself loved V10. It was perfect. Sound and bass was loud, clear and distortion well under control.
I will expect the same sort of work put in this very mod. Give it time to get the most out of the sound output, quality and enjoy his updates!
As dontbelieve has already mentioned, there are several other sound mods available for the Z3 & Z3 compact. However, for me as well as several others, there is little to no difference. There are many versions of the Z3 and not all sound mods work well or even at all with some models...
I have faith in dontbelieve and after having used his previous sound mod, I never went back to look for anything else. His mod was the best by far and no other mod came close.
I will use no other mod but his. I sincerely appreciate all his work hard work and support him all the way.
Thank you so much for your efforts dontbelieve. Excellent work and progress. Keep it up bro. :good:

Cool, looking foward for the eargasm
Hi everyone!
With this thread I want to present to you a cool mod I created, nicely packed inside of a Magisk module.
This module enables PseudoStereo on our Le Max 2, effectively enabling the earpiece to output media audio alongside the main speaker.
Since the speakers are not positioned left and right, and do not have the same output volume, a true stereo effect cannot be achieved, hence both speakers put out both L and R channels simultaneously.
Unfortunately, the Le Max 2's earpiece speaker isn't that loud, so the effect is *really* subtle, even though it becomes a little more noticeable the higher the volume is.
I could increase earpiece gain, but that would distort the sound and probably wouldn't be healthy for the speaker itself (you can do it yourself if you want, but I don't recommend it).
I thought I would make this since I found some people around searching, like me, for a mod of this kind.
The module replaces a file inside the vendor partition, hence it has been tested by me on the following Treble ROMs: AOSP Extended, AICP, AOSiP and RevengeOS.
Does it work on non-treble ROMs? Probably not, at least for now, but you can always try.
Not working on stock ROM, neither AOSP Extended with EUI-Audio zip flashed. Working on it!
This mod can work in conjunction with other audio mods (Arise, Viper, Dolby), provided you install it first, before installing them. (Thanks to @lucian1983 for testing this)
Changelog:
Code:
- v1.2 - Fixed a problem where no sound would come out from the earpiece when an audio message was being played through it;
- Default volume is now 92, earpiece sounds a bit louder;
- Added a new zip file (namely HighVolume) which raises default volume to 100 [B](WARNING: could distort, especially with bass-heavy music)[/B].
- v1.1 - Fixed a problem where the earpiece would keep outputting media audio even if headphones are connected.
- v1 - Initial release
Hope you enjoy!

Special thanks to @Dante63 for his helpful video
I flashed it through magisk manager ,it did not work for me.also tried through twrp clearing cache but no effect noticeable.
Hi thanks for the mod. It's working in RevengeOS.
I think it would be even better if earpiece was louder at low volume. That would make it more noticeable.
Edit: Sound comes from earpiece even when headphones connected. Please fix this ?
Not working for me. Flashed in Magisk, I'm on latest AEX with eui audio zip installed and Dolby-Viper module.

I completely forgot to test with headphones, anyway it's an easy fix, going to do it as soon as I get home in a few hours.

If you're on AEX it should work... Viper shouldn't interfere, but try to disable it temporarly.
Also, try to higher the volume, maybe it's just because it's not that noticeable (not much I can do about this).
Edit: just noticed you're using EUI audio, that may be the culprit, I'm going to check and see if it needs something to make it compatible.

No difference when I enable/disable Viper. Might be EUI audio zip culprit, but to disable that I must flash again dirty the whole ROM.

Works on RevengeOS ! Even though the Ear Piece is pretty quiet.
I would suggest to make an offset fpr the Ear Piece so its earlier at max volume.
Great work so far! Was looking a long time for a mod like this! :good:

Hey guys, I did some modifications and it seems like headphones are working correctly now with no audio being sent to the earpiece.

Yep, it's that for now, until and if I manage to find another, more flexible way.
I raised the "RX0 Digital Volume" to 100. It's working pretty fine for my Device without any distortion :good:
Any how I will also try to find a way to offset the Earpiece Volume !

That's quite strange, on my phone with that value set above 90 the audio would distort a lot, especially with volume set mid to high.
But if it works for you then it's all good!
And tell me if you find a way faster than me haha, thanks for the help, in the meantime I could just make a second module with that value if someone wants to try...
I just rooted my Pixel 3 and one of the main reasons was that I could use Viper again. But to my dismay, it doesn't work! On top of that, I discovered that Viper has a maximum sample rate of 48kHz, which means I can't use my Sony speaker at its maximum potential of 96kHz with LDAC. So, I went looking for other audio MODs without this limitation and I stumbled upon Ainur James DSP. Now this works great, but it has a very annoying bug. Whenever a notification appears, the sound of the notification causes the music to stop producing any noise, while it doesn't even pause! Is there any fix for this, and if not can anyone recommend me any better mod?

Use a wide band dedicated EQ app for adjusting the sound to your own personal likings, it will literally help with improving your sound experience.

Thanks for your help. But as I mentioned in my original post, I wouldn't prefer Viper as it limits the sound sample rate to 48 kHz.
