[Q] Question about boot when even RUU is helpless... - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. My problem is simple. I cannot pass boot screen. I have T-Mobile G2 Touch (polish version). I decided to load RUU through HBoot because my PC doesnt see pluged in phone. Only RUU version which is working on my phone is T-Mobile PL 3.35 and some other numbers further. Its, what i think the same soft as i had before (before RUU when it started to not passing boot screen) so it hasnt fixed anything. So i thought that maybe other RUU roms will be more helpful, but when Hboot is checking ROM its says that CID is incorrect and i cant install it. I have heard about Goldcard, but in this case, when i cant plug phoneto my PC, i doubt if this is a good idea. My question is- what can i do in this case? I really dont want to have bricked phone. Thanks!

CID Unlock

Hey,
So, I've got a strange problem. I've bought my HTC TyTn a few weeks ago and I've allready used the HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3 to SIM unlock my phone. Everything went fine and I was very happy until the day of releasing WM06 for my device. I've downloaded again the HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3 and tried to remove CID to make my device superCID. But now it seems it just doesn't work properly or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Each time the RUU starts ( after softreset, because of confirming 'yes' for sspl, it starts in bootloader ) it can't connect to the device... I don't know what to do, it seems that I do something wrong, but I don't have any idea what
I thougt that maybe just don't need to change the radio, and everything I need to do is to copy the Herm_Unlock_v3, run it and select to remove CID lock. Tried that way but don't have any idea how to check if it's superCID already. Anyway I tried to upgrade to WM6 after that, and It has same problem. RUU just can't connect to my device when it's in bootloader.
Am I doing something wrong ? Somehow it just can't connect to the device now, but at the first time it was perfect. If anyone knows the answer, please report me
sry for my english
I would be happy if someone could help me
Which RUU are you using? Which SPL is on your phone. You may not need to connect in bootloader. If you are using the custom RUU and a "Hard" SPL - then try connecting with the phone up in regular mode.
Found the solution. I think that my USB port in PC is corrupted. Changed the port and everything went fine

Bricked my phone i think

Hey everyone,
i am so upset and lost; words cannot describe it.
So i installed WM6 black shadow and everything was working except for SMS and MMS. So i am like ok i can live with that for a day till custel' rom will come out. SO i decided to upgrade the radio to 1.43 and boom here is where the problem started, No GSM on boot up. Phone doesn't boot up. I tried install 1.40 over again, still nothing. No i tried upgrade the the rom itself, i tired custel 2.5 and nothing and i tried the new Cingular rom, still same problem. the roms flash all the way. I read the wiki, and saw the mtty.exe thing but that doesn't work for me either. I am really lost and don't know what to do.
Specs
cingular 8525
hardspl v7 cid and sim unlocked.
PLEASE HELP
4.13?? 4.10??
Where did you download these radios from??
or do you mean 1.41 or 1.43??
Yeah thats what i meant, 1.40 and 1.43 sorry. You can see how upset i am.
Thanks Again
Well, if your phone turnes on .. it's not a brick.. lol .. it IS fixable... When you turn the phone on does it go RIGHT to the 3 colored screen?
@dan5.5
You need to read the unbricking thread about this, all the info you need is there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755
If you are superCID I don't see how flashing a radio could have messed up your phone.. that's weird.

I read everything there and nothing seems to be working for me. I woudnt post for nothing. i dont want to be annoying.
OK im going to repost what ive said on 4wm:
We need to check if your Radio BL is functional, firstly leave HardSPL v7 on there and connect to the bootloader via mtty (il assume you know how to do this).
Issue the following commands and tell us the results please:
1) checkimage (this shows the CRC checksums of each component...id expect the radio image to show a timeout....
2) info 2 (This will verify that your CID is intact)
3) info 8 (does a bad block check)
Once youve done this, flash SPL 1.10.oli to the device and once again connect up to mtty.
4) 'rtask a' this will enter the radio bootloader you will see "Enter Radio Bootloader" or something to that effect
from now on when you type the text does NOT appear on the mtty screen.
5) 'rversion' this should return your radio bootloader version...now unfortunatly if you see nothing...you radio BL is dead and sorry your device is royally bricked. If you get something returned back onto the screen (most probably containing the text '0108') then your radio BL is fine.

do as instructed in that text, post your results here.
I cant falsh spl 1.10 oli. it gives me the 260 error.
the 260 error is not connected via USB right? .. weird... have you tried taking your battery out for a couple minutes, then booting into BL mode? sounds weird but this worked for me when I didnt flash hardSPL firsl..
hey mrvanx's
I can't downgrade the hardspl to 1.10, anyhelp.
I cant active sync, the phone doesnt boot up.
Is there anyway to aviod having to respond on the phone.
hey,
i can get the phone to boot up into windows and then it freezes within a couple min. what should i do. Still no gsm message and no phone. thanks
Dan
OK, so let's try and get you to a working state - I've bricked mine a couple of times and it can be quite heart-stopping, eh?
The first thing I would do is re-download radio 1.43, just incase your current one is damaged somehow.
Secondly, download Black Shadow - I know it's not the ROM you ultimately want but the aim here is to get you working again and we can move forward from there.
First, boot up into BootLoader mode (hold down the OK button on the left side of the phone and the power button and then press the reset button on the bottom, just in case you didn't know
You should come to the three colour screen and it should be reading IPL-1.04 and SPL-2.10.Olipro. If it isn't, stop here and post what it does say.
If it everything is OK at this point, when you plug your phone into your computer, it should change to USB at the bottom. Just wait for the Found New Hardware prompts to clear on your PC and then flash the black rom - choose the hardspl option in the flash program.
Once that has finished and it is at the "tap screen to set up windows..." bit, put it back into bootloader mode as above and flash the radio.
This should hopefully give you a running phone again as I know this combination works OK as I am currently using it.
Fingers crossed, don't panic, and let us know what the results are
Cheers,
Smiffy.
Nothing is working, can some please help me. Is there anyt way i can restore the spl to the original one so i can send the phone back, i just got it like 2 weeks ago. thanks
Also i have a bad block thats what i think makes the phone freeze after i boot it up.
How can i get around this, thats seems to be the biggest problem.
Hey everyone, let me give you more info.
I can fully flash any rom and and radio,
phone will boot up like 1 out of 10 times and then freezes and thats it.
i have a bad block number 6. I have hard spl v7 installed before the phone got screwed up. I cant downgrader the spl to a lower one to check if radio stack is screwed up. Can someone please help me, if you need to ask me more info feel free.

First of all, its not bricked. Bricked = doesn't turn on, nothing, blank screen.
I've looked to your info, you already have HardSPL, so you can flash directly using any RUU, don't use shelltools!
Enter bootloader (hold camera+reset), open up the RUU of the ROM you want (make sure it doesn't have any IPL/SPL) and flash away
well I looked all day what to do and I can not find solution
I just can not understand how to flash the phone
I found one solution via some kind of Wizard_love, but again I do not know what to do

You guys wanna see bricked? I have a BRICKED! phone... My MDA was the unfortunate victim of a car accident. When my car went carreening off the road, my MDA went flying through the air and ended up on the floor of the car but not before hitting virtually every surface on the inside of the car.
Now my charge port is completely snapped off and my battery shorted out when I was trying to hold the charge port in place to charge it and fried the main board. DEAD. NO MORE.
THAT MY FRIENDS, IS BRICKED....
No worries though, I already ordered a TyTN II
Cool can you help?
Oh and i had the same problem with my mda and i got it replaced from tmobile. - the easiest way to reapair an MDA is getting it replaced ^^

first of all,as dferreira has assured u that ur device is not bricked, secondly ,you already have HardSPL,that means your device is unlocked, just follow his instructions, download any wm6 Rom and flash,it'll good to go,but if u still want to be sure, download WST Tool from the below given thread read carefully and apply the tool to verify the status of ur device,

u can flash NBD rom which u have or any other wm6 rom, goodluck
NVM i am on the Other Page! Thanks
Ok, i have read everywhere and can't help myself, so if someone would be kind enough to help it would be much appreciated
Ok, Used SoftSPL and tried flashing the ROM. It manages to get to 99% and then just goes RED. I have tried 3 different ROMS and same story it goes RED at 99%.
When i remove the battery, it goes to the RUU Red, Green and Blue screen. SPL version is 2.16.0001. Not Oli's new one.
What do i do from now?

Soft SPL only allows you ONE update, so phone is CID unlocked only when Soft SPL is loaded.
It's normal for the RUU to stick on 99 % for a couple of minutes, The whole update will take aprox 10 minutes.
You can try the hard SPL from there you are semi-permanently CID unlocked.
Good luck,

HTC Wizard with no OS, help please!

Hi. I have a G4 (ipl 2.25.0001, spl 2.25.0001) Wizard 8125. I tried to flash to a wm6.5 rom and i know i did something wrong. Everytime i try flashing a new rom it goes all the way to 100 percent and then once it reboots it just goes back to the bootloader screen and stays there. I had activesync off just like the threads say to do and still nothing. Its SIM unlocked since im using an ATT sim card instead of cingular (now att). I would either like the original rom back on this or atleast a wm6 rom somehow. I do have a radio rom upgrade too. Any help would be appreciated.
CID unlocked?
What rom are you using?
I don't think that changing your sim from Cingular to AT&T needed an unlock.
You may need to look at this:
forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=52404&d=1190997171
Its a direct link to mUn's RUU. this worked for my CID locked phone.
Also, take a look at this page and go down to "G4 Only" it should answer many of your questions.
wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard%20Windows%20Mobile%206%20for%20newbies
i was trying to use a WM6.5.3. My phone wasnt bricked! I found the original cingular 8125 rom and fixed my phone. I did however after i fixed the rom issue i did CID unlock my phone with no problems. Also SIM unlocked it too to be safe. Yes you were right it didnt need a unlock to use an AT&T SIM on it either. But now im trying to get the original rom back on. I use the Iphone Killer WM6.5.3 Rom on this site and now i cant downgrade back to my original. The reason i want to downgrade is that the phone is severly slow with wm6.5.3 on it. Id rather just go to wm6 or wm5 again and stick with that.
double check
Are you getting the 3 clor screen?
Just plug the device into your computer and run mUn's RUU. It should update even though active sync doesn't show it as connected.
If you can't get mUn's RUU to work, plug the phone into your computer and load the wizard love rom or any 'CID safe' ROM. These ROMs are reccomended before running mUn's RUU.

[Q]bricked phone, help please, need some advice

Hello, well I recently got this HTC evo 3D from a friend, he bought it extemely cheap since it was not working, and he tried to fix with no success so he gave it to me to try. The thing is that I have some experience fixing samsung phones but HTC seems like a really new thing to me. Anyway the first thing I would like to ask its about the real state of the phone. The phone only turns on and shows a black screen, the htc logo in white letters at the center, and one triangle in each corner, all of the triangles have an exclamation mark.
Thats all it shows, I tried the volume down + power button to enter the recovery screen but it doesnt work. We dont really know what happened to the phone or how this device was bricked, and since I dont really know htc I cannot really guess. Not sure either if this device is either S/On or OFF, rooted or etc.
I read the HTC Unbricking Project and thought "I might as well try that", but I dont really understand what they are saying, not about using linux, its about the tools they say you need:
the appropriate package for the device
the latest RUU for your device
a device bricked by writing security flag 3 with an unsigned hboot, or caused by a damaged hboot via interrupted OTA update/RUU flash on a S-ON device
We dont use any of this on samsung phones so I dont really understand what they mean, could anyone offer an overall advice of what should I do or where to read about this stuff.
Thanks in advance
Update: I managed to get this white screen when I unplugged the usb cable, hope it helps

I can't make out what all that says on your white screen(that's bootloader by the way.) I need you to tell me a few things first.
1.Is the device s-on or s-off? To find out go to the top line and read across to see if it is s-on or s-off
2. Is the bootloader locked, relocked or unlocked? You can see the status at the very top highlighted in purple.
3. What's the hboot version
4. Also, what's the radio band number?
Now the thing is, with HTC devices there are two different s-off's
S-on bootloader unlocked and true s-off. S-on bootloader only gives you access to some of most of the name memory unlocked. You can't downgrade firmware. You can only flash your current one or upgrades. If you upgrade your firmware, your stuck. S-off gives full access to the whole nand memory. The idea is to gain s-off as it is much easier to flash things, more access to software, can upgrade or downgrade your hboot and firmware.
Edit: I got good news for you. Since your able to access your bootloader screen, your phone is not bricked. As a matter of fact, as long as it can boot up to something, its not bricked. Now keep in mind, you will need to download an ruu file and run it to restore that phone.

I've never seen that orange "RUU" flag on the bootloader screen before. I'm not sure what it means but it may need to have the 2.89.651.2 RUU (the build it currently has) re-flashed so I would try running that version of the RUU (similar to Kies) after connecting it via USB to a Windows PC.
You can get the RUU here.
ramjet73
Your bootloader indicates you're S-ON and Re-Locked, which means that it was once HTC unlocked (The manufacturer's poor substitute for unlocking a bootloader)
The device is definitely not Bricked by any definition of the term. A true brick doesn't power on. This is just "soft bricked" meaning it's functional, but has a corrupt partition or partitions that are preventing it from reaching the android subsystem.
You need to use the RUU EXE when you're at that white screen. It should recognize it and re-flash most of the partitions on the device. You might also need to run it twice possibly.
