No. And Im talking after a bitter experience.
No they will not work between 2.2 and 2.2.1. There are a few key differences between them that keep it from working.

It's in 2.2.1 for the vibrant 4G. We'll see it soon.

Think there's quite a bit of work/hacking to get an i9000 ROM on the Vibrant? Does that even work (well anyway)?
The thing to watch for is a leaked Vibrant 2.3.3.

As far as I know, only the one that comes with it. I'm pretty sure CM7 kernels are modified not to be compatible with a Samsung ROM.
