em... i prefer old SE keyboard~~~ chinese n even english ~ hw to transfer it to my new ROM beside usin Titanium bakcup? >< pls help
you could use something like root explorer to copy the relevant apks from system/app to your SD and then copy them back after you install your new ROM, but I'm not totally sure if this is a fool proof method.
Don't forget to edit the permissions for the apks and reboot after you've pasted them back.
den i nid hw to open it after install.. thr seem no the keyboard for me to choose
you have to enable that keyboard in the language and keyboard tab in settings menu.

The permission of these 3 language files is not rw-r-r ... is --xrwxr-x !
I tryed to reinstall it, i put the files inside folder then set permission like the other files inside but still no changes ... !
you need to change permissions from --xrwxr-x to rw-r-r

How can I removed Japanese IME on Alapha 2 ?
Where can I find the Android ICS keyboard apk and install on Alapha 2 ?
Thanks !
I'm not sure about Alpha2 running a Japanese IME, but the easiest way I can see to switch back to an English (quote Western-based) IME is to look in one of the zips for the file /system/app/LatinIME.apk, and push that into your /system/app folder on your Tablet, then reboot. If you want to remove the Japanese one, find the apk that has to do with it (should be something like /system/app/JapaneseIME.apk - not sure though, since I don't have one), and then delete it. I use Terminal Emulator and just su to get root, but you can use Root Explorer or any other File Manager program that has root access.
Hope that helps.

Hey guys,
I'm kinda new here and I have no idea if I posted this in the right section..
Today I made the decision to root my phone 'cause I want to extend my battery life, for some reason it didn't occure in my mind to make a backup (I'm retarded I know..) and now I broke my keyboard.
I wanted to install the Swype Beta and saw on a forum you had to delete the old swype first. So I used the Terminal Emulator and deleted Swype.apk and my keyboard flipped.
Now I don't have a keyboard any more and for some reason I also can't change to the default keyboard..
I tried installing Swype Beta using copy and paste (for the inlogscreen etc.) but when I try to download the application it gives me a parse error...
I hope you guys can help me!
Thanks in advance

I didn't change my rom (so far as I know).
I followed a short tutorial on youtube how to root a Galaxy Ace, and that's all I did. So (I guess) I'm still runing TouchWiz 3.0
Go to settings->about phone->*Scroll down and see firmware version tell me that
and I will make u a flashable zip to fix it

I use android 2.3.5 !
Would you also be so kind to give me a mini tutorial how to install that zip?
Or is it just the same as rooting the phone?

Bit different...Depends on the guy who writes the fix.If he has mounted the system in the updater script but its better to mount system anyway because the updater script doesnt mount system sometimes.
Here is the zip sorry I don't have 2.3.5 only 2.3.3,2.3.4,2.3.6,2.3.7 so I tried 2.3.4 keyboard....
download
http://www.mediafire.com/?0b9ftgzqzwt4wqg
About telling u how to make it....
What the zip does
Pushes the apk into system/app
What u need to do
go into META-INF/com/google/android and open updater-script.file (Wordpad will do)
Then insert this code
Code:
ui_print("Installing");
run_program("/sbin/mount", "/system");
show_progress(1, 15);
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
run_program("/sbin/umount", "/system");
ui_print("Done!");
What everything means
ui_print: desplays custom text in recovery
run_program:runs something in this case it mounts something
show_progress:Shows a statbar that is out of 15 movements and starts at 1
pakage_extract_dir: extracts the folder "system" to your phones system folder in root
But
Just that code won't work remember it has to extract an apk...
the code says that it will extract the system folder so there has to be a folder named system in the root of your zip
and u want to extract the apk to system/app so in your system folder there should be and app folder with the apk in
Ok thats it
If my zip fails copy your keyboard from your rom named "AxT9IME.apk" (in system/app) to my zip in system/app (replace my apk)
If all else fails reflash your rom via odin
GOOD LUCK
Well mate if swype is gone, the samsung keypad is still there. Try this, Long press and hold in any typing window, like the space where you type message. A menu will appear asking for input method, and select samsung keypad. Or you need to flash zip as the guys are already telling you.
Just use open up Terminal on your desktop (If you use Linux) and type:
cd /home/[YOURNAME]/[WHEREVER YOUR APK IS]
adb start
adb devices
adb push [APKFILENAME] /mnt/sdcard
adb kill
exit
Then on your phone, use a file manager, and open the keyboard APK.
Be aware that everything has to be case sensitive.

HERE I PRESENT MY 1st MOD GUYS :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::good::good::good:
HERE IS THE LINK OF THE NEW SYSTEM APK http://www.mediafire.com/download/8e5snv66truvt7m/Settings.apk
THIS IS MY FIRST MOD GUYS SO PLS FORGIVE ME IF I MISSED SOMETHING ND ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF UR ORINGNAL APK BEFORE REPLACING IT ND BEWARE THIS MOD IS FOR MY NEO V SO I DONT KNOW IT WILL WORK ON OTHER DEVICE OR NOT BUT THE SETTING APK TAKEN FROM ARC MOD SO IT WILL BE ............
PLS DONT MIRROR THE DOWNLOAD SITE FIRST MIRROR MY THREAD
METHOD
COPY UR ORIGINAL APK ND MAKE A BACKUP FOR SAFETY
THEN DOWNLOAD MY APK ( PROVIDED IN THE LINK ABOVE DO NOT DOWNLOAD ATTACHED FILE ITS FOR GIN2JELLYBEAN) ND IF U R DOWNLOADED FOR GIN2JELLYBEAN 2.4 THEN DOWNLOAD THE ATTACHED ONE ND RENAME IT TO Setings.apk
MOVE IT TO SYSTEM ND SET PERMISSION AS R W, R, R ( MEANS TICK FIRST TWO BOX IN FIRST ROW ND THEN FIRST ONE IN SECOND AND THIRD ROW)
AFTER THAT MOVE IT TO YOUR SYSTEM/APP ND REBOOT. :good::good::good::good:
IF U R GETTING FORCE CLOSE IN DISPLAY THEn TRY THIS ONE ( GIVEN BY SOME MEMBER)
Ok look how exactly i did it.
1) I backed up my phone via cwm
2) I downloaded the new apk and copied it to my sdcard.
3) Via root explorer i mount it to R/O and copy the new apk to system/app and suddenly my system rebooted.( as i already said dont move it to system/app. First move my apk to ur system folder and set permission then move it to system/app.
4) When opened again i couldn't find the settings icon and i tried to choose settings from my notification toogle but when i did that i had forced close.
5) Then i opened again root explorer and i changed the permissions and rebooted my phone by myself.
6) Now everything is working perfectly and i have no problems to any of the options.Everything is opening normally and it looks really beautiful.
I don't know if it has something to do with but i have locked bootloader.
PRESS THANKS IF U LIKE MY WORK
