** Notice **
There are 2 new kernels out K011 & K012 that are supposed to fix the deep sleep issue. If you are using a ROM that does not include one of these new Kernels please do not continue reporting deep sleep issues on them. Contact your ROM developer and get them to update the ROM with the new kernel. You could try another ROM with the new kernel's included or try the fixes mentioned further down in this post.
Mainly interested in now is reports of deep sleep issue with K011 and K012. Thanks out to everyone for their help with this bug hunt.
**********
Time to find out what those of us who have no deep sleep when running the custom kernels have in common. Even if you don't have any problems with Deep Sleep, your input would be appreciated as it could help eliminate items. If you can think of anything else we can add let me know and I'll update this Post. If possible please attach the same information as I have below as it would help greatly in determining what phones that absolutely can not get deep sleep with the FreeXperia Custom Kernel have in common. When posting possible solutions please indicate if you have had problems getting deep sleep before or not.
Update - I've added a count at the front of each line to count the number of submittal's for that line. As Items are eliminated from confirmed working deep sleep users I'll change the font color to red.
Update 2 - Thread has grown beyond my ability to keep up so I'm Just going to but a synopys at the bottom. If you believe that any of my assumptions there are incorrect, please PM me with the details so I can keep this information as accurate as possible
When reporting deep sleep problem or working include the following information
-------------------------------------------------------------
Phone Information from under battery
Sony Ericsson 10a

J's custom .52
Base .49
Base .46
Mini-Boot versions tried

V2
V3
Factory Unlocked No
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is what I've been able to determine so far
Majority of X10a have Deep Sleep problems
Majority of X10i are able to obtain Deep Sleep in some way.
So far everyone reporting unlocked phones have deep sleep (Incorrect, some don't have deep sleep)
Possible solutions if you are having deep sleep issues
1. Install V2 or V3 of the mini-loader from the custom kernel thread (DoomLoRD) Link
2. Try the Screen Off Fix (9Lukas5) Link
3. Manually select your network operator. (The Gingerbread Man) Link
4. After fully charging the phone to 100%, reboot after disconnecting (DoomLoRD) Link
5. Un-check automatic updating in date & time settings. (Temoi19) Link
6. (My_Immortal) has a solution If it's the dialer keeping your phone awake. Link
#5 is what finally worked for me. If any of these fixes have worked for you make sure to thank whomever came up with it by following the link to their original post.

The new Rom release is now available in the second post here. The Kernel included does not include overclock so if you want overclock you'll have to download K012 from the first post.
Here are the known issues posted by J in his thread. Please note the items for Deep Sleep and make sure to apply them before reporting any deep sleep issues.
KNOWN BUGS
-after reboot USB mass storage is not working if USB in plugged (unplug/replug USB to fix)
-if you still have deepsleep bug disable autotime update and automatic network
-deepsleep appers only when device is not connected to USB and corect baseband is used

Nice one buddy, great idea, i do not suffer from deep sleep so will edit my post later with my results, do you want the date the phone was manufactured.
I ALWAYS HAVE HAD DEEP SLEEP.
*Sony x10i
*Type AAd-3880056-bv aaac
*FCC ID PY7A3880056 CB5
*IC 41708_A3880056 10w13
*manufacture date year 2010 week 13
Using 3UK, HSPA, i have tried only Jerpelea's roms and had deep sleep on every one, my generic rom used is Sony Ericsson X10i_2.1.A.0.435_X10i and i use J's bb52 but it works also for me on bb49/sony bb52.
My only other point is that my phone was factory unlocked which may be another good point.
For those that don't know how to tell the manufacture date its under the battery and is shown like mine as 10W12, 10 being the year 2010 and W12 is week 12 of that year so April.
Apps that are very active in background prevent my device from going to deepsleep. Like MSN Talk Pro, PowerAMP and idk what more. I dont think its hardware related.

I've actually tried this from a fresh install, with only CPU Spy installed and still I didn't have deep sleep. I'm saying it's hardware related as it could just as well be provider related.

* clean install and bb .49.
*battery calibration (full charge "off line", wipe battery stats)
*applied patch "when screen off "
*no apps installed (in each installation, JUST CPU spy from market, without gapps.

Yes I tried the same earlier, its just a matter of finding something we have in common, what it is I don't know.
Ok guys just done some testing cm7.03 and disappointing results, atleast for me.
Flashed bb.49, wiped everything in recovery. Fresh install of v21 and flashed v2 miniloader (no reboot in between) and signed into Google, allowed it to sync contacts no Google restore, no gmail, skipped install of Google apps. I have only installed CPU spy through market. Nothing restored through titanium.
My SD card is being a SOB and for some reason thinks I have no pics on my card, so possible issue there so it wont allow me to upload the screenies I just took but I managed 9 seconds of deep sleep after leaving the phone alone after my install as described for maybe about 2 - 2.5 hours. Baseband.49 with v2 miniloader isn't the answer I'm affraid atleast for me. Tomorrow will try same kind of install but using v3 mini loader.
Edit; no luck sorry

Edited, my last post. I see small diferences between you and me.
i don´t remember what bb came with phone, but i gues was .46.
I´ll try that now....
.49 don´t fix deep sleep.
How come we havn't asked those with deep sleep working to make a nandroid backup from xrecovery and upload it so we all can try it out?

Good idea, worth a try, i will do one tomorrow if nobody has done it before, think i will just check with Jerpelea first if that's ok by him.
Edit .... I will just pm a few with it rather upload it.

Great! let us know how that goes.
I guess I'm a bit behind on what this even is.. What is the deep sleep? I know sleep mode and hibernation on a PC, but how do I know if my phone has it or does it?

Deep Sleep is sort of like Stand-by mode on your PC, it will wake up by its own to sync mail and do whatever and then go back to sleep. Without deepsleep you will lose 5-10% battery an hour just idling instead of just 1% for every 5-10 hours.

Ok just tired another fresh install on bb.49 this time using miniloader v3. Same testing.g environment as mentioned in cm7 thread. It seems impossible for me.

Does anybody have an unlocked phone that they could try a sim card from another provider with? I've tried a 2nd one from the same provider but my phone is locked so I can't try a different one.
cm 7.0.3 - bypass v3
I tried a different simcard today and got deepsleep on it but I also had deepsleep with my usual simcard until it hit 15 % battery. Maybe losing deepsleep had to do with coming out of airplane mode on my device. I couldn't restore it and tried everything written in the other thread.
I gave the hardware - software cause some thoughts. I don't think it is hardware related. Sony would never upgrade to GB if it would be hardware related but I remember they said that they had some trouble with GB and the kernel.
Anyways I use the same apps on J's GB that I used on freex10 and i have absolutely no problems with deepsleep. The problem must reside within the Kernel, bypass or GB since lots of people even get the no deepsleep on a fresh install or lose it after some time.
Also drivers are not complete like camera and proximity. I would guess that there are still lots of incompatibilities that could also be the cause for something like that. Maybe some piece of hardware doesn't get addressed right or something. Figuring out what would be the cause exactly is way out of my league.
Just some 5 cents from me.
Regards
No deepsleep here for the past 3 or 4 versions of J's kernel (didn't try any before that).

HELP VIDEO FOR ANDROID NEWBIES TO HELP THEM CHANGE ROM FROM 2.2 TO 2.3 CM7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RULPBh4cDYU
On demand of some of the very new to android users, im posting a relatively easy to understood upgrade process from 2.2 froyo to 2.3 cm7(custom rom).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfnoUB8EFOI VIDEO LINK TO THE CM7 ROM DEMO
Remember both these roms(cm7 and miui) are rooted roms.It voids the warranty.
All credits given to the respective developers of the softwares/firmwares shown in this thread.Im just here to make the process more easy to understand. As developers say, DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK
CM7 FLASHABLE FILE- http://www.mediafire.com/?f90c9utsp8luknd
GOOGLEAPPS PACKAGE- http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
COPY BOTH THESE FILES ON TO UR SDCARD(SAME FOLDER OR SEPERATE FOLDERS) BEFORE U PROCEED ANY FURTHER!
Download this file CLOCKWORK MOD- http://www.mediafire.com/?4mio3rwhhmjw5aq
steps to load cwm recovery
1-Load dell drivers on ur pc which we call adb drivers which i found on my dell mem card folder named ADB_Tethering_Driver.U will find these drivers on this forum also if you dont have it in.
2-setuo fastboot mode on your dell handset
Setting up fastboot:
Turn Device off
Move ringer to UP position
Hold down Power and Volume Down
This will show fastboot mode is on.
3-Download and install cwm
How to Install CWM?
Start recovery.exe and Extract all files
U will see file named Install CWM.bat.
Run that file and now plug ur dell venue to usb cable(venue is still in fastboot mode as we did it before)
Follow instructions on the dos screen to make ur dell venue load cwm recovery.
Your DELL Venue will reboot after installation is finished
4-Then you can see DELL logo after reboot.
Immediate you press Volume UP+DOWN
5-Once you're in the CWM recovery before you flash the ROM zip, you need to :
a. Wipe data/Factory Reset
b. Wipe Cache Partition
c. Wipe Dalvik Cache
Use vul + - key to toggle the menu and go to INSTALL UPDATE option in that menu.Again on next screen u will be asked to choose update file selection.Option name i forgot may be "INSTALL UPDATE FROM SDCARD".
Select the CM7 file which you downloaded earlier and copied to sdcard.Select and click CAMERA button to start installation. It will take about a minute or two to complete installation.
5-As installation finishes, you will see the msg - UPDATE COMPLETED.Then u need to go back to the previous menu and select REBOOT SYSTEM NOW.Finish that step.
Thats done! You are into the world of smoother, faster , interactive dell venue cm7 2.3 rom!
You wont be able to cnnect to any of google applications at this time.
To enable google account and apps, u need to follow all the earlier steps and again go into the cwm recovery mode and install the GAAP packge which u have downloaded with cm7.The process will be same...update from sdcard, select gaap file and reboot. It should not be a big deal.
option2:Also u can go to cm7 settings menu and find option to boot into cwm recovery in dell phone itself(no need of pc to run cwm). However u need the GOOGLEAPPS FLASHABLE file on ur sdcard to flash it in cwm recovery in any case...option1 or option2.
Same process needs to be followed to install another update for ussd/mmi codes.
Download this package http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/misc/USSD Fix/update-USSDfix-2.zip and flash it in same way as gapps was done. This would solve ur problem of ussd codes( * # kind of calls) as well.
NOTES:
ONE MAY FACE REDUCED BATTERY BACKUP IN THIS CM7 ROM,
I HAVE FOUND A WAY FOR IT, BY USING SETCPU application WHICH COMES IN THIS ROM AS BUNDLED.
MY SETCPU SETTINGS ARE:
1-START ON BOOT CHECKED
2-PROFILES ENABLED CHECKED. TWO PROFILES ADDED FIRST IS "SCREEN OFF" SET TO "POWERSAVE" AND SECOND PROFILE "IN CALL" SET TO "CONSERVATIVE"
*IF U GET STUCK AT BOOT AFTER INSTALLING ZIP OF CM7 FILE FROM CWM, U SHUD SIMPLE FOLLOW 2 STEPS. DO AL DATA WIPE,CACHE WIPE AND DATA RESET.THEN FLASH CM7 AGAIN WITHOUT RESTARTING PHN.THIS WILL SOLVE BOOT LOOPING PROBLEM IF ARISES.
THESE SETTINGS GIVE ME EXTRA BATTERY BACKUP OF ABT 3/4HOURS.

Thanks
Super cool and simple explaination quite helpful. Will try this.
But are there any bugs in this update?
Also if possible is there any rollback method if we get stuck or mobile bricks?
I did not find any bugs in cm7 as yet...havent tried miui rom yet.
CM7 is supercool rom.You would love it.Its 10times better than the 2.2 inbuilt rom dell give.
Rollback would require stockroms(which r available on his forum i think).
Unbricking method post is also given in this forum.Check and do the diligence at ur own risk.

took it to test today
used it as normal as i always do
but battery drain observed was high than stock
half a day by 3 noon my fone waz 20 %
unplugged at 7am
on stock at this time i would be 60 %
just use opera and whatsapp
any suggestions?
will clearing battery stats help?
heard it makes things worst
here are some suggestions:
1: in stock rom when wifi is on and connected to a router, and u went away from in wifi area, it will stop searching for wifi. When u will enter in same wifi zone again, u wont get auto connected to wifi.
Whereas in cm7, after leaving wifi area with wifi on(and connected), upon returning to wifi area again, u will find venue connected to that wifi network automatically.
This means wifi is continuously looking for connection in cm7 but not in stock rom.Make appropriate changes to try and enhance battery life.
2:SETCPu application
Use this application to save battery.I used it today and felt the difference.
3:Set brightness levels to zero rather than auto.
We have to change our habits of using phones to save battery.Thats a hard fact!
Above all should help though.

Was on your settings before I re formatted my cell.
Was going okish..
But when I reformatted it, made sure the battery was full and then wiped battery stats.
Now I am onn without setcpu, goes for 10 to 13 hrs max with few calls, whatsapp always on, mails, etc.
Will go on with this for a month. Then check with setcpu if it gives any difference.
Hello,
after using custom Windows-ROMs for a long time, I have installed a NAND-Android-ROM, Walter79's, [ROM][NAND][CM7.2]unofficial Android 2.3.7 for Rhodium 2013.07.09 with kernel 3.4.41 on a German Rhodium100, for the first time.
First thank you very much developing this smooth ROM. During installation there weren't any problems and during operation there are mainly minor problems which I can partially solve myself.
- The SIM-Log-on screen always starts-up horizontally and it is not possible to use the on-screen keyboard but of course I can use the hardware-keyboard.
- When I start the phone again, after sleeping-mode, especially when I start it up just after a few seconds, I get a black screen with thousand of red, blue and green dots. If I switch-off the screen and wait longer, afterwards I get the normal Android start-up screen. It was always possible to start normally again and no reboot is necessary. Is the rhodium's lower performance probably responsible or should a reinstall help?
- Is it possible to charge my Rhodium100 while running. I found a post on wizardknight's "[ROM][NAND] [EOL - no longer being developed] GBX0* + 3.4.41 kernel - update 04/25/13" thread, that charging is not possible during running "Edit: Warning to other RHOD100 users: Do NOT install the 3.4.41 on your RHOD100! The phone cannot charge while in android if this kernel is running." I found out that it is charging if started with the charger plugged-in. Also it is charging while running on USB-connection with the computer. Is there another trick to charge the Rhodium while running?
Otherwise the system is wonderful and very smooth.
Thanks a lot for the system and installation guide

Google play and audiofx
The audiofx app doesn't appear to have any effect on the music playing from the google play music app. I've tried going into the audiofx app from within play music, but I just can't get it to work on play music. Not too sure whether audiofx has any affect on other apps other than the default music app. I'm on the latest build (20150111 V2)
Other than that, I can't find any problems. Great work!
no vibration
Hi! This is a great ROM!
Is there a option to activate Vibration?
Bluetooth audio fix by one click

As in vibrate mode? Sure! Just keep pressing the volume down button when there's no media playing and you'll feel the phone switch to vibrate.

Media volume can be changed within the sound and notification settings in the settings and also when media is playing. There's also an option to also vibrate for calls in the sound and notification settings as well.
Thanks!
After closely watching the development for a month, yesterday I decided to flash it with some outdayed cwm based PhilZ Touch recovery. The install was not successful, and even broke the recovery :S This freaked me out a bit, but after successfully fastboot-flashing stock firmware and newest cwm, I tried again today. The result was the most butter smooth android lollipop experience! Thanks for this amazing rom
Recovery Doesn't work for me
Hi !
First thanks for your amazing rom Infected_ .
For me I have a problem with recovery , it doesn't work with CM12 Recovery ( I can't flash any zip files from my sd card), I must install CM11 recovery V6.0.5.1 which is working very well. When I want to update cm12, I must install CM11 recovery each time.
Do you have a solution for this?
Reboot doesn't works for me, only power off my phone.
Thanks a lot
Build 2015-01-14
Big thx to you infected for your amazing work. Keep it up !
build 2015-01-14 with included kernel
- bluetooth is seriously ****ed up (reboot, switching on/off doesn't help) (i hear something for a second or two then it stops)
- call keeps ending after a minute or so (without speaker phone, i didn't try speaker phone)
That's it
Lockscreen background
Maybe i`m blind, but is there a point to change the Lockscreen background ???
Upgrading to the 20150116 from 20150112v2 via a dirty flash caused it to fail to boot (stuck at the Sony logo). Required me to format System and clean install. Total pain in the ass cause I hadn't done a backup (I'm an idiot, complacency is gonna be my downfall).
Just a gentle reminder to do backups frequently when flashing nightlies!
Super stoked with the ROM, the camera quality is fantastic (better than stock I think - I rooted before you could backup your TA partition and I think my camera quality was never quite the same).
Solution?
I had the exact same problem with the kernel you use, only I managed to wipe both the rom and the recovery. After I flashed a stock fw and the newest cwm (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702001) I could finally flash this rom.
Testing Results for latest version (nightly 1-16-15)
This build is in very good shape. Throughout my wanderings, I have noticed that only a few things that could be fixed (these might have already been recommended, but I am posting them anyways). First, the physical camera button does not work. I understand it is hard to build that button into a CM build, but I figured I would just write it down. I already know that someone has posted this recently, but I would just like to confirm. Another thing is that the double tap to wake feature in the display settings does not function. It can be selected, but the feature will not function, and sometimes the toggle undoes itself after a short period of time anyways. Although, it does not function even right after enabling the feature through the settings. I would also like to ask about charging. I believe CM does not support quick charging at this time, but I have noticed that it takes significantly longer to charge my device than stock rom. I have tried a variety of chargers, and I achieve the same result. I am just using standard 2.0-2.4 Amp chargers that my device has always used. I just have noticed that it takes a long time to charge (significantly longer than my OPO, but that thing charged faster than my Z2 in the first place). Last thing that I have noticed is very minor. On stock rom, the camera had an option for 16:9 15.5 MP shots that I frequently used since I do not really like 4:3 photos. I know the camera was a pain to get working in the first place, but this setting is not present anymore (in the included app and third-party apps). Anyways, these builds are really nice, much better than I expected for nightly revisions, so thank you!
DT2W works 20150118.
TWRP
Hi there,
first of all great work! The Rom ist just running fine on my device. The only problem seems to be the delay on calls.....but that's nothing to worry about^^. The other problem i have.....i flashed the twrp recovery several times. The twrp recovery does start....but only with the *.bat installer in windows. When i try to start it from the device it doesnt work. Instead, the cm12 recovery does start. Did i miss smth?
Greets form germany ;D
Got some problems with last build. Phone restarts after shutting down. Calls on Viber, Hangouts and Skype are broken. So I cant hear the other person. but he can hear me.

This is an issue, but you can update supersu by flashing the latest zip file here: download.chainfire.eu/supersu
I'm sorry for not posting a link, but XDA won't allow me to because of how new my account is. Just copy and paste that to get to Chainfire's SuperSu download page

@tytydraco Awesome! Thank you!
Wondering why remove the voLTE, is it too hard to get it to work?
Forgot to set the dialer app as default. I'm a dummy. Folowed the directions exactly and used the CSC for my device, the original CSC is probably the same but I wanted to make sure.
Wifi-calling is still not working, which is kind of a bummer since I rely on it pretty heavily. Any ideas about that?

Wouldn't the sim card automatically configure the phone to the carrier it's on?
