Theyre both great. I like tigers blood because it has better battery life.

Opposite of hitman I got better battery life with overstock.... go figure You will just need to try both out and see which is better for you........ they are both great
I've recently switched to tigers blood after i constantly read how battery sufficient it was. And well, that just didnt work for me as more drainage and sudden freezes made me switch back to overstock and all is good now.
But as always you gotta try both of them and figure out for yourself. Needless to say its also rom dependent.

i like em' both! Tigersbloodv2 gave me the best batt life. Had freeze issues and FC on overstock, lol(go figure) Im gonna switch back to overstock and put it thru its paces after hearing others comments on it. I just loved telling people my phone had Tigersblood in it and when on v2 the boot screen has some reference to "winning" and that was always good for a laugh too
My phone seems to run better on overstock. Like other people said try them both out and see.

They all do. The best thing you can do is leave it hooked up all day and use it as little as possible. Actually, I have not used any of these yet but I hear pretty good reviews for Juice defender & Startup Auditor both found on the market.
I just don't want to use one of those apps because I used juice defender and it turned off my 3g to save power, and it never ever came back on. Even after I reboot it didn't go on. So I had to flash back to an earlier rom.

Custom Roms drain battery even more than stock ones do? WTF? The most important reason why Im intending to install one is the ****ty battery life on my Vibrant that the Froyo stock update only made it worse.
Is there any extended battery for the vibrant out?!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
With most of the custom ROM's out there you should get about 15 to 20 hrs of battery life. Trigger and Auxura will get you 20 to 25. Those numbers are with normal use. If you're talking, texting, watching You Tube and playing Angry Birds all day you're gonna kill your battery alot quicker.
So trigger's rom is more battery efficient than that of bionix?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It certainly seems like it to me, although I believe that I installed Overstock 1.4 incorrectly when I tried to flash it after I put Bionix on there (receiving horrible battery life), whereas I used the .zip for Trigger that included Overstock already. Not sure if it was that or simply due to the difference in Roms. I don't usually have 3g and wifi on when I'm not using it, but even with frequent texting I get about 40ish hours total according to Battery left.
Cool, then Trigger it is.
Trigger and Bionix give approximately the same battery life if using overstock kernel.
And by that you mean preserving the stock kernel when flashing the custom Rom, right? Im a noob in this you know
Na, it's called "Overstock Kernel" it comes with trigger by default, so you'd just leave it for that. However, you'd need to download it for Bionix and first flash the rom, reboot, and then flash the kernel.
Easy way to save battery, when not using data is to put your phone on the edge network instead of 3g, phone works great on edge. you only need 3G for data use

So, time to install trigger?!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Wait, where do I find it?!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
I am using the current Trigger w/ OverStock 1.4. I am lucky to get 12 hours!! How in the world are people getting 20+ hours with normal use?!?!? I do not play games often, I do not use WiFi, I maybe send out 5-10 texts a day, so what am I doing wrong?
Dood, where did you find the trigger download?!

I had similar issues as you did. Bionix would drain battery much faster. Tried trigger 2.7.2 and the battery life is much better now. Not sure what the difference is, but it sure seems to last much longer. I do not have any overstock kernels.

Well I went ahead and flashed Trigger. But the theme is killing me, damn Bionix looked so good but battery...
What is the best ROM in terms of battery performance? I'm running Bionix with Overstovk and battery isn't that great. I'm actually considering going back to stock 2.2 if it offers the best battery performance. Thanks!

Been asked many times. Did you recondition your battery? Your phone will vary on different roms. I would try a couple of the more popular ones and see.
You can also change it by modem and or kernel choices no matter what rom you choose...its all different for every one

I've been using bionix with overstock for two months now and have conditioned my battery multiple times.
You say modemm, I know KA5 is good in terms of battery. How can I install that?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
And how is Stock 2.2?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I would check out the ROM called Toxic Heroes Presents Toxic FF SMoke. I have been using this rom for a few days and i can attest to the battery life. I got got 17 hours with heavy to moderate usage throughout the day and still had 50 percent battery life left. I have also had bionix and atriarc and both of them had gopod battery life. Also alot of depends on ur modem, kernel combo. For example i use the KB1 modem and right now have overstock 2.2 and getting great batt life.
Also i have used KB1 modem with supercurios stock KB1 kernel with voodoo on bionix v 1.3.1 and also had great battery life with it as well. Also depends on where you live as well hope this helps a little
If your jumping from edge to 3g alot that'll drain. Your battery. If you leave wifi on all the time and are going in and out of buildings or places in general that have wifi its constantly scanning and trying to connect. Hell, when im driving down the road mines trying to connect to houses that have it. The radio is a big thing though. (Or so I've read all over the forumns)

Which ROM/Kernel combo offers the best battery life? I could care less about performance and features. I just got a vibrant with a potentially borked cellular radio (will be disabling it) that will be used strictly as a media player

Toxic firefly 2.9 with kb5 modem and bali kernel 1.8.4, got 24 hours out of it with light/moderate use.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Bi-Winning V2 and Bali 1.8.5UV was getting me 40+ hours with light/moderate use. Trying DragonMODz SSJ-ULP/ZenDroid 1.3.4 and it looks to be even better. Still calibrating though.
Thanks for your suggestions
I got 40-48hrs multiple times with light to moderate use on bionix V 1.3.2 and nextgen v2 with bali 1.8.5uv. Testing it on Trigger now.
Anything with the Bali 1.8.4/1.8.5UV kernel.
I got a day and a half of use with Bi Winning V2(V3 Now) and Bullet kernel underclocked @ 800 mhz. Watched 5 episodes of that 70's show w/ wifi. Only thing is, the phone still flies.
Im using GB roms right now, and im very pleased with the battery life on M.I.U.I using Platypus Revolutions Kernel and the modem KB5. Im getting more than 15 hours, wich its great comming from CM7's 4-5 hours...
im getting great results with Trigger 3.2 and Bali 1.8.5 combo
Any rom not thats not ported. They use more battery. I used Zendroid rom and Bali 1.8.6 UV.

ZenDroid 1.3.4 with Bali 1.8.6 or DragonMoDz_ULP gives me like 4 days, well i am alight user only with like a couple dozen sms per day few calls and10-20 mins of gameplay maybe...plus somewhat wifi usage
U get about 6 hours of battery life on stock 2.2 froyo with my vibrant. I want to know what settings to use, what I could flash, what apps to use, basically whatever I can do to extend battery life on this phone. I should add thats with heavy texting, pretty much non stop, some moderate gaming, words with friends and psx emu, and light music use. I get 6 hours even with no use, but I wanted to know any way that would help me get more. Any help would be greatly appreciated once again

I am putting together a guide on this as I type since this is such a common question. Should be done this weekend.
Ok thank you so much I love the phone it just dies way to fast.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Can't wait for the guide to be posted bro. Also, OP, seeing as you are using Froyo 2.2 (which Woodrube uses) expect to get 20+ hours when his guide is posted next week.
Holy cow thats insane! I cant wait im dying to see it cause I neeeeed this phone to last longer and I really like froyo stock because I stay with the stock camera, get wifi tethering, and get flash player. Those 3 alone made me want an android phone I think the camera on this is amazing and games look awesome too and with someone like me, who texts and plays game non stop it kinda sucks keeping a charger on you 24/7 or forgeting and having to ration phone use haha

Ok so I got a sgsll but my girl has a vibrant and I flashed ics passion but for some reason she says the battery life its terrible .. Myself am running slickMOD 2.4 and battery life its great.. My question is what is the best ROM for battery life on vibrant. Any suggestions . Performance dont really mater to her at this point. She just want battery to last longer... Thanks in advance
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
If she doesn't really care about performance then you can just under clock her phone on ICS Passion and it will definitely save you some juice.
LIke they said^.Heres the app to clock your phone. Just download this and underclock for longer battery life.
Jajajajaj big nooob here lol y I didnt think of that...

Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I've had ICS Passion and Euphoria. Passion is really good in battery, way better than stock froyo.

Buy a new battery. The Anker 1800mAh is highly recommended.
If you want to spend a little more i suggest you get the http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoce...sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1330604736&sr=8-2-spell seido innocel 3000 mah battery. it also comes with the replacement back cover.
hmm, I'm not so sure about the bulk on the back of the phone with the battery you suggested there.
I'm curious about ROM option, too.
