Hey everyone just noticed that the recent update to the popular VPlayer has made it so it now supports the Atrix. This is definitely one of my favorite media players

I just downloaded and tried. Video looks pretty good but everything is playing back in slow motion, including audio, when playing an mp4.

I was using Vplayer too, it was ok, but recently I tried 'MoboPlayer'. If you haven't tryed it yet you really shoud IMHO, it's really great, the only player I use now.
Below is a link to the 'MoboPlayer' file for the Atrix.

Mobo Player
Second that, free, stable and feature rich
mVideoPlayer. Never failed me.
Hi there, I think I might try out these recommended video players. But before I do, I wondered if anyone could let me know why the videos I'm copying across to the phone (divx AVI episodes of TV shows downloaded via BitTorrent) don't stretch to the full size of the screen?
I have tried RockPlayer and yxplayer and what appears to be the standard 'video player'. yxplayer doesn't appear to do anything (or can't play divx AVI files), the other two play it in the centre of the screen with heaps of space around the sides.
When I play the same files on my TV through my PVR, they stretch to fit my TV screen dimensions and look really sharp. Was hoping the same would occur on the phone, so I would have something to watch on tomorrow's interstate flight.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also try qqplayer which can actually play a 1080p mkv file. though it will run very slow it still tries at least unlike most players!
Anyone know of any player that can fill the screen WITHOUT stretching the picture (in other words, it zooms in to fill the screen). I had that on windows mobile but have never found an Android player that does this.

Try taking a look at arcMedia.
Mobo Player.
I prefer mVideoplayer because it will display the folders that I have my videos in. I have over a 100 tv episodes for 7 to 8 different shows and not having them organized by folder drives me crazy.

Try using the soft-decoding for the file or possibly re-encoding it.

MX player is the best. It is free.
I found dice player to be really good. It's able to play most videos using hardware decoding.

Hey guys, so when I upload a video it goes all nice and smooth. but when I play it on YouTube, there's no sound, well actually there is sound but it plays extremely fast and then there's no sound. I've never had this happen. It plays fine with the gallery, it just doesn't want tto upload to DB or YouTube or anything normally.

You've tried viewing it on different PCs, right? Clear app cache and does it still happen with other videos?
Solved!

mx player from the market. its free and even turns the backlight of the cap buttons off once you start watching a video....which is huge for the amaze b/c of the light bleed problem
Dice

+1 on mx video player, supports every format and handles software and hardware acceleration. Not.to mention native dual core optimization.
Mx player
MX player only suports Native supported formats(MKV,AVI,MP4) with HW video acceleration.
Others formats are supported by SW Mode.
Diceplayer supports HW video accel. on any formats with H.264/MPEG-4 codecs.
im choosing between dice and mobo

I use vplayer on both my Acer a500 tablet and my amaze. Plays my mkv's really well.
$sudo make me a sandwich
QQPlayer
Chuck Norris can but Walker Texas Ranger can't.
Tried them all. Three months ago I would have said mx was king, but now dice is. Plays everything well. On device or over the network.

why dice? i tried it out per your comment and its pretty hardcore riddled with ads, i didnt see a paid version.
though its network capabilities were definitely noticeable.
im still geared towards mx as far as compatability and fluidity.

LoL. Don't we all hate ads... Get ad blocker if that helps or get paid version
Here is link -> Paid Version.
If you have movie files that are really big, MX Player cant handle it for some reason, be it local or over the network. It is so so so so laggy. And its pointless converting (main reason being size. 720p/1080p files are BIG) everything you download just so you can watch on your mobile when there is no computer near by. So i found two solutions to this, either use plex or dice. And YES MX Player is a solid player no doubt, but for the reasons above, i prefer dice.
Im feelin mobo thanks for the feedback from everybody..

just checked on your link. Seems like none of last 10 reviewers at least are any happy with it. 1 star only...
I'm noticing that videos recorded on the device are slightly laggy on playback. It seems to happen at some points. A restart helps, but I don't know why its happening. Other full hd videos play smoothly and I have tried other video players with no luck. Verizon galaxy s3.
Is it ones that you record? If so is it on1080p?

Yeah just in the videos that I record on the device. yes full hd 1920x1080. Everything is on default.
I'm having this same problem, any ideas?

Do you find them laggy on the stock video player? I find that they do stutter a bit on third party video apps, but they're perfectly fine on stock video player.
Yes, on the stock player. I took some video of my son the other day and when I played it back for my mom, it started stuttering at the end. But, I just played it for myself yesterday and it worked fine. Not sure what's up.

I've found a work around,it sucks but if you record in 720p the video that you record wont lag at all, I've called Samsung they said to try a factory reset. But I'm not going to I'm OK with my 720p. Hope this helps you guys out, if any body trys a factory reset and it works please come back and let us know.

I have noticed that ocassionaly the last couple frames stutter. But I've recorded a lot of 1080p videos and no other problems playing back on stock player. 3rd party video players on the phone are hit and miss tho (mostly miss).
I'm running into the same problem. It seems to be the player. When I upload the videos onto my pc they playback smoothly but when I play them on the stock player on the phone it lags badly.
I've had issues with the stock? video player since i got the phone. it usually plays for a bit then says "Video cannot be played" this happens to pretty much all sites I visit that contain video. any ideas? or same problem? I tried using chrome and the video player that is used there is really crappy.

No issues at all with stock vid player other than it still cant play .MOV forcing me to use other players for those.
I download tons of HD vids to my phone.
most of this issue with mine is with mp4s. weird.
