Ive been looking a bit thru google for answers to this issue at hand before I made this topic, and none of the answers found worked for me, so I am using this as a last way out.
I just installed a custom rom on my Xperia x10, everything went successfully and it works fluently, except for one tiny thing - Which also might be the most important one, I lost my signal
I can't send/recive sms/mms, do a phonecall, connect to 3G, basicly nothing a normal phone could do.
People I found on google solved this by simply rebooting the device, I tried - Im not in that lucky group.
Im not quite sure about this, but when you boot the phone should it not ask for the sim pin code? Well, it dosen't.
Thanks in advance guys, hope you can help me out
Did you reenter your APN settings?

First I made it reset to default APN settings, then I added the ones I am supposed to, but whenever I hit "save" it never shows up in the APN list
Can u pls ensure that your baseband version is supported by the custom rom
regards

I verified all of those things before I flashed it - But I found a solution, I bought the Xperia Arc, lol
But there's one last thing tho, as the x10 is pretty much useless as it is, and me being stupid and didn't create a backup, is there any way to restore the original firmware?

Just run repair software via SEUS or PC Companion.

Hi guys,
My flatmate's phone is an Xperia X10a on 3 mobile. When they bought it the shop person said to upgrade (it was 1.6 so no kidding!!). I told my flatmate I'd sort it for them (I'm keen to push the android front!), so I downloaded the official update programs (both of them) and found out first hand how useless Sony is, but it said that I already had the newest version; ugggh.
So I came here and installed the generic official 2.1 rom (through the flashing tool here). It's great, everything seemed to work, but the internet doesn't work over 3G. It works fine over the wifi, just not over 3G.
What are my options here? I'd really like to get this sorted!
Thanks guys in advance.
have you downloaded the APN setting for that network?
if you are not sure ...go to settings, click on sony ericsson and click on settings download

Thanks for the quick responses. So after a quick google, that's the access point name, which tells it how to connect specifically to my carriers network?
I had a quick look through the documents, and three mobile.au is in there, so I'm guessing it's fine. My flat mate isn't home right now so I can't attempt it. It seems like it just figures it out itself when you have the list, I'm surprised there isn't some sort of selection process.
Kudos to the both of you. Thanks given.
Done and done! All working, and without any preloaded network crapware installed.
Cheers
I was on rooted 2.1 and sms worked great. I upgraded to wolfbreaks 2.3 rom and everything was working great. Except that fact that i have a sms problem. When i try to send a sms sometimes it works... Sometimes it doesnt. I Deleted the apn settings and that seemed to fix it for a while.. Then it did it again. The only way for me to send the sms is to reboot the phone. While it turns on again thats when it sends the text. I tried reflashing the rom, Nothing. Went to 2.3 ultiama rom or something and it still worked at times but then it stopped. If i reboot then i can send. If not that its just stuck forever. I went back to wolfs 2.3.3 and it does it every now and again. But i have been dealing with this for atleast a week and im getting tired of restarting my phone to text someone.... Any help would be great
Also phone specs are as followed
xperia x10a now it says it an i... but whatever
carrier is At&t
Android 2.3.3
Baseband version 2.1.71
Kernel Version 2.6.29.00054-g5f011537 Semcuser semcHost#1
Build Number wolf_xperia_4.0.3_cust
I've had this problem too. The best solution that seems to work for me is making sure that you have a decent amount of ram free. I never found out why I had this problem but after I cleaned my phone out and made sure I didn't have a lot of apps and services running, which frees up ram, my SMS problems went away.
But they still surface from time to time.
Also make sure you have a decent signal when you send messages. That might be another reason but I really don't know.

Tried boosting more ram.... Still not working. Someone please help

I posted it in the very first post....
Try updating to 4.0.4 stock version. That's what i'm on right now.
To tell you the truth if these problems continue to occur of you update, you might want to clean install everything on your phone, especially app data.
So save your contacts and any viable data, a list odd apps you really need and start all over.
hope this helps.

You're not searching right. There have been at least two threads about this issue just here in the XDA forums that I've answered this in.

Though please note that my fix only works if you have root. Do you have root?

ok, thanks i´m sorry for the mistake i didn´t search it that way, besides the name of the post is quite different from that i´ve searched but still thanks for the help man, and i´m not root yet, i´m a little affraid of rooting my phone because when the screen is black in the camera app, there are zones of the screen that looks a little bit darker than the others, and i think soon i´m gonna have to take it to warranty, that´s the main reason of why i don´t root my phone
Hi guys.
I really need your expert advice on my problem I've been trying to troubleshoot the last hours.
I recently changed the pattern to unlock my phone.
it's a droid razr with latest MIUI official (ICS)
Today I tried to unlock it and failed it. I was really almost sure about the code, it was composed of the 4 bottom squares, so not many possibilities. I tried all of them and nothing worked, so I suspect a bug, but ok I was tired and changed the code yesterday, so let's imagine I type the wrong code and used all my possibilities.. I was not really worried are I was sure there was way to go around this.
The problem is that it seems MIUI is buggy, as it should ask for my google username/password to unlock, but it just reboot when I try to unlock.
anyway my phone is not having internet connection so from what I saw it will not work.
also, the razr is not having any recovery, well I mean you need a specific application to go into it so I cannot launch it since I cannot acces to phone apps
so I really see no option to go back to my phone data. I think I could restore a official rom, but it would mean loose all my data. I'd really like to keep my sms especially the 5 last one I received today and cannot read. So if anybody has an interesting idea, i'd be more than happy to hear it.
thanks and hope you'll be inspired!
cheers
Hey thanks for reading, a couple of days ago , my wifes phone got stolen, i had the find my phone app installed in it but i always had my doubts as i always thought that if someone like me finds a phone and wants to keep it, they could just master reset it and erase any gps traking apps and have a new phone rigth? well thats what happened, tiefh turned off the phone right away and the phone never showed up neither on google device manager nor the find my phone either. Anyway , a person that works on a cell repair shop told me, he has his phone setup in a way that if you do a factory reset or even if you flash the phone, once the phone has acces to the internet, it will install the gps back again and tell you where it is.
So i was wondering if anyone has any idea wich app or how to do such thing. Thanks for your time and pardon my bad grammar and english.
PS: i wonder why google dosnt have something like the icloud where you can lock your phone to it via imei, that way if it gets stolen you can just lock your phone and tiefs wont be able to use it. I know google has my last imei, so i guess is posible for them to track my device to see wich other account is using my phone.

With root access Avast Mobile Security has this kind of features as far as I remember. It keeps a protection after a factory reset or a firmware installation.
BTW Apple produces the devices so they have a control on the IMEI (IMEI is a hardware data and not software). Moreover you should probably be able to contact your local authoritizies to blacklist the IMEI.
Hope it helps.
ill give that atry, the reviews dont look good but most of them look to be because people dont understand that there are 2 kinds of the same app, one for normal users , the other for rooted users. Thanks alot for your help. Any other options out there?
