Change vibration intensity - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to change the intensity of the vibration? I'm running on cm7. The vibration for text messages are really short (about half a second) and you can barely feel it. My old phone, a mytouch slide vibrated much harder.

Go to messaging/settings/notification settings/vibrate pattern. Doesnt change intensity.

Same problem here.
Any ideas?

Try a 3rd party keyboard. A lot of them are much better and don't seem to lose their vibration settings.
My two suggestions: Better Keyboard 8 or Smart Keyboard Pro. Either along with the Rapid skin to make it look similar to the stock keyboard, but nicer.

[Q] Haptic Feedback

i have both sgs1 and sgs 2...i have noticed one thing ..that the haptic feedback in sgs2 is not as responsive and not as instense as it used to be in sgs1...is it only with me or otherz have also noticed this thing....??
Have you tried lowering/maximizing the vibrating intensity in Settings?
And if you did, only thing i could think of is they lowered the intensity on the SGS2 deliberatily because then it saves battery compared to the intensity on the SGS1. (i never had a SGS1, so it's a wild guess)
Regards.

Which keyboard do you use? Use the swype-keyboard. That way the haptic is a bit stronger. You don't need to necessarily swype using Swype keyboard, you can also type on it and it's neat to have all symbols under the normal keys (long press for symbol). Give it a try and let me know if it changes anything.

Fascinate CM7 Button Lights always on?!

My Wife's Fascinate is has been running CM nightlies since about CM7 (build 75) and is currently on build 100. Some where along the line here four navigation buttons began to stay light while here screen was off....ALL THE TIME. I don't think this really impacts battery life that much but she is really annoyed by the lights constantly being on and I am really tired of her complaining. can someone offer guidance? -AT
They light up when there is a notification, ie: text, .missed call, voicemail.

Go into settings... Profiles... Default and you should be able to change them.

Gmail vibrate question

love the gmail app but hate the over powering vibrate it has, is there anyway to shorten the vibrate?
Not that I've ever seen. I believe vibrate controls would have to be written into the program.
Might be possible to adjust vibration intensity system wide. I'll have to see what I can find.

The most I've read is people downloading apps to change the length of vibration (longer, shorter, or combinations)
A few said to take the phone apart and add epoxy onto the empty half of the weighted shaft that spins from the vibration motor. With it more balanced it won't vibrate as hard.
A bit extreme but it would work.

[Q] cm9dx2 green charge light

Hi, any easy way to disable the bright green light when plugged in?
Well I know that when you get a notification when its on, the light will go off after you dismiss the notification. You can always just send yourself a quick text. lol. But the light color is set by how the battery is. So if you are at 50 percent or so, once the light is off, it will come back on when it hits the next battery stage, if that makes sense. For example, at 50 percent, the light will be yellowish. At about 80, maybe, it will turn green. So when it decides to go to the next color, it will come on again. Just trying to give you an understanding of how the light works. lol.
There are apps that let you control the light. I have tried LEDs hack but it got my hard key lights stuck on with ICS. I think there is another one calls light flow or something like that that may help.
Sorry for the long response. lol
Thank you jsgraphicart,
I did not notice the changing colors. I'll try out the text thing.

Lighflow works great, dunno if it has any issues with CM9 though
I've used lightflow on Eclipse since 0.2 and never had a problem. I will look into this now and post results.
EDIT: It Kills it! Set up all your notifications the way you like, and make sure charging settings are controlled, but no notifications set!
Have you tried turning off the notification light under setting>display?

I like that charging light. Actually I love it. Is there a way to enable it in every rom?

I just came across that setting. That should work for when you want it off at night. But you need to turn it back on to get the LED to display for notifications again. I might use this at night now. Thanks.
So in Alpha 5, you have the option of turning off the notification during "quiet hours". Disable notification LED from 10pm to 5am or whatever.
