really???? how hard is it to read forum rules....is ur thread in ANY way at all *development* related? no...no its not
so unless you are releasing something, or have a post that will in some way better the fascinate community....keep to the general and q and a sections
y u no follow community conventions?
Troll?

People really need to read the rules before posting like you're supposed to. This has nothing to do with development, and doesn't belong here. Keep these questions in Q&A or General. THIS is why the devs don't like XDA.
ouch...sorry I did read them a while ago, but im on droidforums more so not used to it. i will delete the thread, or move it

FWIW, it seems to happen to everyone at some point.
Now, back to the original Q, I'm currently using Adryn's EC01 (Rom + Radio) and it seems to be working well. I HAD been using the DL09 modem for the last few weeks b/c of reception quality, but I decided to go for it and upgrade to EC01
I'm getting pretty good battery life and even better reception than before, but I liked the dark black theme of SC 2.9.2.
I'd say you should give ec01 a shot.
Be ye forewarned though: First boot, mine asked if I wanted to do a VZW over-the-air update. probably not a great idea. lol.
We should enforce some sort of temporary ban on these idiots. Follow the damn rules.

Think I got it thanks.
After nitsuj17 informed him that this is in the wrong section, is it really necessary for ten other people to point it out?
I'm running SC 2.9.2 with the EC01 radio and jt's EB01 kernel (non-voodoo) and my phone is working like a champ. Excellent reception, instant GPS lock, nice theme, and great battery life. I'm waiting to see what this "community project" is before I switch roms again.

Hello! I am new to this forum. I have a Samsung Vibrant (SGH-T959), which I successfully upgraded to Froyo.UVKA6. How do I upgrade further, to Gingerbread (Android 2.3)? I tried to Root my phone using that one-click rooting program, but I guess I was doing something wrong, and it didn't work (three times). Thank you for your response.
No official 2.3 yet
and no stable 2.3 (?) for normal daily use yet

he said "no official 2.3" CM7 isn't official but i suggest the OP tries out CM7 its fast, a few bugs, that will be fixed by the dev team, but besides that... its great!
Since there was a samsung gingerbread leak for i9000 a few days ago. I imagine we will see a vibrant leak soon.

With All due respect, perhaps you should just stick to 2.2 for now. While CM7 is a semi-viable option it is a bit more complex than flashing many of the more "standard" 2.2 roms.
Be patient, there are many custom roms you could look into that will surely boost your phones potential greatly while you wait for 2.3 builds to grow and develop.
Try out Bionix Version 1.3 (I believe) or Trigger 2.7. Those are my personal favorites. Right Now I am using a 2.2.1 Rom called Sweet Honey, which is great, but I haven't had enough time with it to give a proper judgment.
Look at the more stable options first, get used to things, learn how to use Odin, about download mode, the different recoveries, even about jigs (if needed); before you dive head first into this cesspool of amazing roms, kernels, themes and talented developers. There's a lot of options that are far less likely to brick your phone.
This thread is a good way to start.

ok so my question is which modem is the best OVERALL for my vibrant?? I'm not looking for anything in particular, just to have a the best connection and the most battery life without sacrificing one for the other. Haha sooo pls reply and thank you!
It all depends on your area for me in south florida KA7 seems to work the best
use one thats MEANT for CM7, those are usually the best because they have included things like
voodoo sound, LED notifications etc.
Battery will of course will be affected, but not by much, nothing noticeable.

What's up guys. I need some help picking the best ROM for me. I know there's tons of them on here, by I'm a novice to Android, and honestly don't even really get te difference between firmware and a ROM. I want some very specific feature which is also why I made this thread seeking your help.
I'm an old iPhone user.. did all the jailbreaking and all myself and even though I think the TB is better than my old iPhone I would love to incorporate some of the "fluidity" it had. Specifically I'm looking a ROM that wouldn't interrupt my music when I get a text to play to notification sound, instead play it on top of the song playing at the moment. I would also like to initiate access the play/pause skip buttons without having to unlock my TB, like double pressing the home button on an iPhone and the play buttons pop up even if you weren't playing any music.
The last and most important to me would be this one: on the iPhone there is a security option that if you have a password set and let's say the phone is stolen and someone tries unlocking the phone more than an allowed number of times(set by the user) it erases EVERYTHING on the phone. These are all I can think off right now. Like I said, I'm a novice to Android and I will appreciate any help and advice I can get. I already had my TB rooted but I just updated the verizon firmware on my TB not knowing that it would un-root it.. so I'm trying to find a ROM ASAP.
Thanks
Edit: I would also like to make my TB run on gingerbread and improve the battery life.
I suggest BAMF roms. I'd give you the website link but I may get banned for it.

It's really about trying them out for yourself. Alot of what you want is available through apps. Not even sure you need to root.
As far as bamf ROMs, they decided to leave xda but if you google them, you should find them.
XDA does not like you linking other sites that do the same thing.
I suggest them because they ate always updating their roms, they have a good group of people happy to assist you, and the roms are just really well done. Chingy does great work too. But apparently posting to another forum gets you banned these days. Google "Team BAMF". :-]

it is against the rules on xda, and its their site.
OP, I've been using gingertheory, which is a gb rom with a hybrid sense of 3.0 and 2.1. Very smooth and fast. The same dev also makes a senseless version of GB that is very light and you can add custom lockscreen to that can have audio controls.
EFoxwell said:
Since when did they start enforcing all the rules. I forgot... They cherry pick them. Back on topic, cm7 rc1.2 is good. If you aren't into sense, it is definitely my #1 suggestion.

Eh, dont waste your time with bamf. Synergy is where its at IMO. If youre still kinda new, Droid Theory does awesome support. Hes one of the nicest people Ive seen on the boards, but he doesnt consider himself a Dev. lol. Ive heard CM7 is real nice too though if you arent so much of a sense fan.

The one that fits your needs the best, which may or may not reflect the opinions of those in the thread. In short, you need to research and/or try many different ones. The lazy way of asking others won't give you the best results.
Synergy is my favorite. I've tried CM7, BAMF 3.0, Gingertheory, Injectedtheory, and Tesla Coil.
CM7 was my second fav, but Synergy was just farther ahead in development. They are doing nightlys now and things are very smooth. Running on the newest leaked GB base and radio, and it runs on ziggys kernel, which seems to be second to none.

Now that Netflix has officially come out for the Thunderbolt, I am sticking with the official MR2 ROM that is the same as stock but rooted and deodexed. All of the apps I want to run work fine plus I have root for things like Titanium, LBE Privacy Guard, SetCPU and VNC so I see no reason to change. I was considering it for Netflix but since that works fine there is no need to. Perhaps when the other roms have stable releases rather than just nightlies/betas/RCs I will switch to a custom rom.

She wants her battery life to be a bit better and wants the stuttering to stop. She doesn't need anything special. No special apps, or utilities.

Yeah I took that piece of Sh*t back to bestbuy and got a new one. Prime out of the box DL's the ICS update automatically and if you choose it install, that's where the problem starts.
I told myself that I wasn't going to do the update but I accidentally pressed the update button lol! It's running good now I guess I just had a bad one thanks
I'm also using Bionix-V 1.3.1 Fishman mod (FINAL). I have yet to apply the FINAL 2 update, but everything seems to work great and the speed is awesome. I like the smoothness of the TW4 launcher that was included in the ROM, but it lacks some abilities that other launchers provide. Just wish the pesky wifi calling echo issue would be resolved without having to lower the in-call volume.

Hmm. Perhaps it's the version of the .apk that I am using (had to download/install it separately since it wasn't originally included w/ the rom)? I've had the echo for a while (although I can't remember now if I had it on the original bionix 1.3.1). I know it's been an issue for other people on other roms as well.
Anyway, don't mean to digress or to move this topic in a different direction than the OP.
EDIT: Just for clarification, the echo doesn't happen on my end, only the other person's side... no matter if I made the call or they did. But again... I digress.
