Record Screen? - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How to record my a43 screen?

You can do screenshot easily on the dev options, but if you want video i don't know.

yes video recorder (app?) could be better

*Note, if you don't have a rooted Archos you can root using instructions here:
Code:
bit.ly/dOCIet
Root access is required to record screenshots on Android, unfortunately. Rooting will also void your Archos warranty, if you feel uncomfortable doing that I can't help, sorry.
---------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to record directly onto your device's internal storage, install ShootMe. Start the service, select shake or shout mode, then hide the ShootMe window. Then go to the screen where you want to record a screenshot, and shake or shout at your device. Then use Files (or whatever file manager you use) to open the picture, under the folder ShootMe. You can move this file into the Pictures folder so it shows up in the photo gallery.
You can add drawings, annotations, etc. to your screenshots using PaintJoy (simpler) or PicSay (more advanced).
You can also record videos using ShootMe, by selecting continuous mode. Hide the ShootMe service and navigate to the screen/app you want, play through or whatever you want to record, navigate back to ShootMe, and switch back to shake or shout mode to end the video recording. You will get a video under the ShootMe folder with the recording. If you want to trim off the part of the video where you're starting/stopping ShootMe and navigating to the app, install VidTrim and use it to remove the unneeded portion.
Unfortunately, neither VidTrim nor VidTrim Pro allow you to add voice annotations using your microphone. You can easily do this using the default sound recorder and VideoPad on your computer, though.
Lastly, you can record screenshots (pictures only) from your computer over your local wi-fi connection using PicMe. Just start up the PicMe service, then use the web browser on your computer to go to the IP address it specifies. Select static mode for a regular screenshot (refresh to page to update) or live mode to control your device from your computer (click to control). (live mode doesn't let you take screenshots, however). There's also a standalone java jar useful for if you use PicMe frequently, you can create a shortcut in quick launch or desktop, etc.
These apps/programs are all free, but there are also paid versions for more features if you're willing to shell out a few dollars. Have fun!

[APP][WM6] alpha v2 - Tube8 viewer --- uses XBMC plugins with PythonCE!

New version!! See this post! (post 33)
So I'm planning on making a full video viewer/downloader for multiple sites and I decided to start with a porn site, tube8. I'm still learning a lot of .NET, and it's even harder when you're stuck with using compact framework 3.5. So go easy on me....
In any case, I've got a barebones app that will list all the videos on the front page of Tube8 along with a thumbnail when you hit "GO" at the bottom. (if you hit it twice, it might crash)
If you DOUBLE-tap the clip you want to download, the go button at the bottom will change to FLV. Hit that and the screen will freeze while it downloads the file to the ROOT of your STORAGE CARD. A popup will tell you it's done when it's done.
Sorry, this is bare-bones. I just want to confirm this works on all networks. I've only tried it over WiFi. I'll implement more menus, a streaming option, etc as time permits.
Also, I know that you can play FLV videos... my current device is giving me trouble with the version of TCPMP i have so if anyone can tell me if the FLV videos do play, that would be great. I know they play when copied to a desktop.
There's no CAB yet (still learning), but you can extract the zip and just run the exe file anywhere on your device.
FYI, the final program will be called 2Kinetic - Mobile Video Viewer.

[Q] any way to download embedded flash flv files?

i have a question i am hoping someone may be able to answer. i am currently without high speed internet at home. so i use my vibrant tethered to my pc (mobileap). i usually do a lot of video streaming to watch my favorite tv shows and movies (no cable either). i usually use firefox with the download helper plugin to download embedded flash files from any site with flash, not just youtube or megavideo.
my problem doing this on my phone uses alot of bandwidth and i get capped very quickly. i have a a few places near me with free wifi, but since my pc is a desktop, i cannot easily take it with me to download videos. unfortunately, i can use my phone to connect to the wifi and stream the videos on my phone, but i have yet to find a way to actually download the embedded flv files to copy to my pc and watch on the big screen with friends.
are there any apps or scripts i can use to do this? if i installed ubuntu, firefox, and the downloadhelper plugin, would it work? or am i asking to much? has anyone ever achieved this?
android opera and adm download manager
I used opera, adm download manager on android.
Open the page with video. Then let the video play for About 10 sec.
On a different tab, type about:cache. Locate your website and click on preview.
There should be a .SWF or .FLV links.
Long press the one which is bigger in size. Open in new tab. A pop up open with message should appear.
Click on adm. Then on start.
This did the trick for me.

[Q] Is it possible to screen-record my own app to video in Android?

I would like to know if there is any easy way to record the activities and views on my Android app to a video without root access. To be a bit more specific, I am looking for a screen-recording solution so that I can get a video of the user's interaction with the app interface. Connecting the phone to any device such as a computer to do the recording is not an option.
Here is a sample gif that I created using a Mac screen recorder to record the iOS simulator interface. It gives a rough idea of what I would like to achieve on Android, except for the fact that I would like the same to be from the actual phone (not the emulator) and without having to connect the phone to a computer or any other device.

this works fine,
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.org.invisibility.recordablefree
but you have to connect it to pc ONLY first time, after that no need for PC, and does not require root
Thanks @arana1, but I really need to avoid even that first time connection to the PC.

[APP REQUEST] Car Security Video Recorder Surveillance

[APP REQUEST] Car Security Video Recorder Surveillance
Good Morning Everyone!
I have spent a lot of time trying to find an app that meets the following requirements and so far just havnt been able to find anything close that works. Multiple apps are fine. I am mostly concerned with someone breaking into car and stealing stuff. I had origianl post all typed then lost it so im trying to recreate this but think im forgetting a few things.
I am planing to:
- Mount phone in car and conceal it permently or semi-permanently. (Access will be available but limited and difficult.)
- Hardwire for full time power.
- Not have cellular service so scanning and connecting to any open or known (such as the secured wifi at home) for cloud uploads/monitoring/etc... ( sugestions to improve the built in android wifi utility are welcome)
- Will not pay monthly service charges for any service, app, Web site, etc...
Features:
- Everything hands off/auto start apps/recordings upon system start.
- Start video record on any of following:
- motion detected from camera(someone breaks in)
- motion detected of phone/vehicle (someone steals car)
-Any Audio is detected (not expecting to be able to cover entire car or if some hits car exterior, etc.. )
- Delete oldest files if run out of storage before upload/sync completes.
- Cloud upload capabilities (Might be able to perform via other known methods but would like ability to split files based on specified file size if no cloud integration).
- GPS/Location tracking and recording. (Google location services will probably work if not integrated).
-Record Post video when record event is triggered.
-Bonus if user adjustable, say from 1-60 mins.
- Double Bonus if capable of buffering video to save specified length of video prior to triggered event. (Say if someone keeps walking by car trying to case out but motion didnt trigger or if someonw hits car would be nice to see prior few minutes of them driving down the road before impact.)
Nice added bonus:
-Event alarms: email is fine, text even better(using free text service). Pics attached even nicer.
-Remote control of device. Only while connected to local lan is ok.
-Ability to provide Live video/audio/location information if connected to wifi as long as the recordings do not get disturbed. (So i can check if i locked doors, windows are up, etc).
