i have noticed lately my mms pictures, or more, pictures received have been terrible quality. i know its not the picture thats bad as i'm having to get people to email them instead so i can read text on them or anything detailed.
it was never this way before and i cant seem to find any settings to see any problems.
can anyone help with this or experiencing the same issues?
using Z's 2.2 rom

i want to improve this. i've had enough of the pixelated crap
any way to improve this a lot or completely ?
would really like to know if anyone does.
im not saying its only a problem with this rom
its BEEN a problem from day 1
the only thing that fixed it was the setting photos with timescape.
which i no longer have or use.
so any other ways ?
So I've been playing with my SG2 for a couple weeks now, getting pretty comfortable with it.
I realized when I started playing with Serendipity Rom that I could no longer send MMS messages... could receive them just fine but there was no option to attach.
Found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18727217&postcount=6 where he links to a MMS package (don't know from where) that gives this functionality back.
However, that mms.apk changes pictures into slideshows and I really don't like that.
Anyone know which mms.apk would allow me to attach pictures to my messages, and display received pictures in-line instead of slideshow?
I'm currently running H8SG2, and like it the best out of the 6 or so I've tried. Just this little MMS issue.

Download the CyanogenMod 7.1 MMS.APK which can be found here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4K7PT0AE
Replace the MMS.APK in your phones system/app folder with the one you have just downloaded & reboot phone.
This solution works for most everyone.
Good Luck!
That one has an option to attach files, thanks! Though, surprisingly, it's different than the one that comes with the ATT nightly builds for CM7 (which is what I tried earlier).
Thanks!
I'm on the official ICS firmware with Galaxy S2. (With Bell to be detailed)
I have an issue with sending MMS. When I try to send a picture, it seems my phone sends the picture as a video/slideshow instead. This results in the picture file size being extremely low since it's gotta compress the image quality to fit it in a 5 second video clip.
Receiving hasn't been an issue. File size is all good and if I forward a received picture, it sends it exactly the way I received it.
I very rarely use MMS, so this is something I've recently tested. Don't think this happened before on the stock Gingerbread firmware. And on some custom roms (Samsung themed) it occurred and on others (official/pure ICS themed) it didn't; at least from what I recall. Any solutions?
Anyone got any ideas?
I've done some more testing and I've noticed that this seems to be effecting messages over 40kb.
does anyone know why sometimes pictures on S3 come in as short videos even though they are clearly pictures?
i have found a work-around for this little problem, ill explain it in detail for those that have this same problem. I would love to hear some input
OK, so first i noticed that this problem was occurring between me and my roommate ( we both have s3's) when we would send pictures to test out our new phones. We were sending pictures directly from the default messenger app, we were both using the attachment button (paperclip button). It wasn't until today that i realized that the problem would disappear when we would use the photo gallery app to send the pictures by using the share function and using the messenger app. If youre having the same problem i hope this helps!
This was a Samsung thing that started with the GS2. It was fixed by the time ICS was released for it. Now, they seem to have forgotten they fixed it and have broken it again for the GS3.
I use GoSMS, so I don't really have to deal with it.
I'm pretty sure this is the same on all the Samsung phones, but if I get a Picture via MMS, I cannot zoom in or out on the picture. The only way I have found to resize the thing is to first save it then go into gallery and then you can zoom in. Anyone have a better way?
And yes, I have used other SMS app's like Go and it works much better, but I happen to like the stock Message app, except for this non feature.
Yes, I find it extremely annoying after switching from SE Neo. I would also like to know if solution exists...
