[Q] Wifi connection in JL5

My phone came with JI6 stock and wifi and gps were both working (not too good though). I flashed a few roms such as axura and nero and my gps got better with each flash. In JL4 I saw the most improvement in my data connection as well as my wifi and gps. However, as soon as I flashed Nero v3 (JL5), I can't connect to any access points, even though i can see them. I thought it might have been a bug, so I odined back to jfd, then ji6, redownloaded nero (jl5) and flashed it, and it still wasn't connecting.
I then thought it was nero that was causing the problem, so i flashed axura 2.2.5.6, but the problem still remained. I even flashed the jl5 modem itself (from scrizz's thread) but no luck. anyone know what could be causing the problem?
And is it possible to flash a jl4 modem on axura's rom?
sure and you could have just flashed JL4 to Nero too

[Q] EB01/EB16 - how do you know?

Hey, a question...
I flashed the 2.8v, which I thought included the EB16 kernal, but the phone still says EB01 on the "About phone" thingie in Settings. Now, I just flashed the EB16 voodoo zip file on the first page of Adrynl's thread...it still says EB01.
I'm running fine, GREAT, really, but justr wondering where to look so I know I have the EB16 running, and if I am still on EB01, then....why?
Thanks guys, and thanks Adrynl for the fantastic work.
Jeff
You are on EB16 unless you flashed the EB01 kernal after installing SC2.8v.
The only way to check which kernel you are on is by running a command.
Check out post 2178 in the superclean thread (page 218).

Jan 2... that would be closer to DL30. Did you come from a DL30 version of Super Clean?
Just to make it confusing for you all:
There are currently 6 kernels floating around. EB01 voodoo and non-voodoo, EB16 voodoo and non-voodoo (included with SC2.8), and another set of EB16 voodoo and non-voodoo kernels that were an attempt to fix all the conversion problems (but at the same time introduced a BT bug).
Depending on which kernel you have, you might be getting a different result for the date. It depends on which files they used for that kernel.
If you find that you aren't on the kernel you thought you were, but you are happy with its performance, you might want to think about just sticking with the kernel you have since there isn't a huge difference between them. Everything will get sorted out soon enough.

MMS on SC 2.9.1

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place. And, yes, I did search first. I am on SC 2.9.1 EB01 voodoo. I have not updated to the new kernel. I did flash the MMS patch. My problem is that I can not receive MMS. At least two people have sent me pictures via MMS, and I receive a message saying downloading but no pic. Haven't tried to send any. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.
I know SC 2.9 required the DL09 modem, I assume 2.9.1 would require the same? I know my messaging didn't work properly in 2.9 until I flashed the DL09 modem. Then no more messaging quirks like you mentioned. On a side note my GPS performance also improved to.
Have you tried these? Adrylalyne has been up to his usual greatness, making stuff better for us. I am runnung SC 2.9.1V, eb16 rom, and eb01 kernal, with zero problems and heavy data, txt, and phone usage.

It appears that I have an almost identical set up to yours with SC 2.9.1 but I have not upgraded to the new EB16 kernel as the last one was a fail. Three separate people have sent me pictures by MMS, and none were successfully received. I today re-flashed the EB01_mms patch without success. SMS and email seem to be working fine.

What gave you the idea that SuperClean 2.9 requires the DL09 modem? That is most certainly NOT true. In fact, Adynalyne recommends NOT using the DL09 modem if I remember correctly. But, just pointing that out, that information is dead wrong. The recommended modem is EB01.
I Odined back to EB01 according to Adrynalyn's post, then reinstalled SC2.6 and pictures aarrived with mms. Same with 2.8 and 2.9.1. Adding Super Dark or Nitro Dark Eclipse theme resulted in inability to receive pix by mms. I tried all the variations, and this is the problem without a doubt. FWIW. Anyone else experience this?
I'm also having this problem. Odin'd to EB01 then flashed 2.6 to 2.9.1. The phone is working great but the inability to receive pictures is annoying. Is it necessary to go to 2.8 before 2.9 or something of the sort?

It is said in the thread you have to install 2.9 before 2.9.1.
Now that I do not have a theme installed, there appears to be no problem receiving pix via mms. My post is inaccurate - I went from Odin EB01 to SC2.6 then to 2.8, then 2.9 then 2.91. Sorry for the error. But mms works on all the SC ROMs I tried, as long as I did not flash a theme on top.

FC with Superclean 2.9.2 and PBJ Time Kernel

Question I'm wondering why when I flash over my Superclean 2.9.2 with PBJ Time Voodoo, when it's running it's perfect then after I restart or something I get a framework error next time I turn it on and a bunch of my other apps force close right away. I wiped the Dalvik Cache. So what could the culprit be?
I havent tried it, but im trying to figure out if that kernel is for that rom. IDT it is.
I'm using SC2.9.2 and the imnuts 0330 50uv voodoo kernel just fine. No problems at all.

[Q] Going from stock ED05 to TSM PoolParty or Res

I hate to have to ask this, but it's been a while since I've modded my Fascinate. I just received a refurb'd replacement of my Fascinate that was running CR 2.1. The new one received the OTA update to ED05 2.2.2 today after I activated it.
I'm thinking about going to PoolParty or TSM Resurrection. It's been a while since I've done any of this, and I wasn't very active once I got the old one setup so I'm pretty rusty.
From what I gather if I want to go to Resurrection I should Odin PWGB (no modem?) first to get to EH09, Odin CWM (any version?), then the PW fix permissions, then TSM, and the new TKSGB kernel?
Should I stick to the ED05 radio, or is there a newer one that doesn't fry cards? Am I on the right track? Are the directions the same if I want to try PoolParty? Is one preferred over the other?
Thanks for your time.

the modem was never the reason for fried sd cards for one...ec09 modem gives the best data speeds, but tends to jump in and out of 1x. if you want tsm yes you must odin pwgb, odin cwm 2.5.x, then flash tsm in recovery.
pool party is mtd and requires cwm4 to flash...read the how to go from anything to vgb,cm7,miui guide in dev section.
Thanks for your input. I just odin'd PWGB without radio, so I'm still on ED05 for now. I have to leave for work, so I won't do TSM Res just yet. I see they're reporting reboot issues now with TSM Res. Is ED05 the current radio besides EC09 with the potential issue of jumping into 1x? Do I have to change the radio if I want to go to TSM Res?

yea roboots have been a problem on eh09 roms... ed05 is the most current readio but between that and ec09, ec09 gives better data speed. They both will jump in and out of 1x, but ed05 does it more imo...I think your location and signal area will determine which works best for you. No you dont have to change radios to go to tsm or any rom for that matter.
