[Q] DSP manager and libaudioflinger.so/non-CM ROMS - Droid Eris Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So basically I want to put DSP manager on a non-CM ROM (OMGB 1.1.1 to be exact). From what I can tell, installing the DSP manager .APK will not do anything as it requires a modified libflinger.so file. My question is, could I grab the lib file from a CM ROM (a GB ROM of course), and push it to my phone. The next step would most likely be to install the DSP manager .APK.
Any thoughts on the probability of success/anything I might be missing?

Oxygen Users Could you Extract Some Files?

Heya.
I'd like to use some of the files from the Oxygen for a little test I am doing to enhance my ROM. All I need is the Task Manager and the Comm Manager from the Oxygen Rom or if there is an Official Update be it branded or not then a link to that would be good too.
If your not sure which files to extract then I think for the Task Manager its:
IA_Task_Manager.exe
IA_Task_Manager.exe.0406.mui
IA_Task_Manager.exe.0409.mui
IA_Task_Manager.exe.040B.mui
IA_Task_Manager.exe.0414.mui
IA_Task_Manager.exe.041D.mui
The Comm Manager should be:
CommManager.exe
CommManagerRes.dll
CommManager.htm
CommManager.exe.0409.mui
I'm pretty sure those are the files needed to run the OEM Applications but if you see anything related that I missed then please upload them too
Thanks in advance.
Sam
Here you are.

[Q] Replacing notification sounds

Hey I just wanted to add the notification sounds from Anderoids Aosp rom to roms that I use now and might use in the future. I tried unzipping the AOSP one and moving the sound files to the same location in the Trigger Rom folder but when I zipped it up and tried to flash the rom it just hung on installing update or something. Anyone know what to do? I used 7zip to zip it back up and the sound folder is the only thing I touched. The original zip of trigger flashed fine but when I tried to mod it I ran into problems. Heres a link to the AOSP clone.

[REQUEST] Newest DSP Manager flashable zip

Could someone do me a huge favour, please?
The DSP Manager from the CM roms (and occasionally other roms) is probably my most needed app because I prefer my music to sound as good as it possibly can, but not all roms have it and I like tto flash a lot.
I know there are zips of older versions, but the latest is definitely the best.
As I have no idea how to do it myself, could someone please make me a flashable zip of the latest apk, with all the necessary files for it to work?
There is a drink, or a donation to your work/chosen charity, in it for you.
Thanks!

You don't need a flashable Zip. You can use the APK if you have it (if not i've attached it to this post)
- Copy the APK to your SD
- Use Root Manager/ES File Explorer og whatever and copy it to /system/app
- Exit the file manager and check your app drawer. Tada!

[Q] How To get Stock Apps ??

i am using samsung galaxy ace with a custom rom. i want to have some of the stock apps mainly stock camera, stock task manager, and stock messages. is there a way i can get it and put it in my custom rom ???
my method-
i am not sure whether this will work or not but i think that if i get the apk file then i can put it in root/system/apps and set permissions to rw-r-r. this should work according to me.
but how do i get the apk file?
for that also i think i could extract it from the installation files for stock rom...
but the installations i have come across are either .md5 or .tar files for stock rom. hence i am unable to help to extract it and get the apk file. also i am unable to find a direct zip installation setup via cwm for stock rom. if i get that then its easy to extract the apks.
please help. i am not sure if my method is right. if it is then help me with it, if not then please tell me the other method
I think it´s not that easy, becaus the stock apps are using another framework, so they will not work if you just put them in the root/system/app folder. You have to install the framework which is used by the stock Samsung rom. If I´m wrong please correct me.

[q] uninstalled file manager -- need it back

While I was trying to clear the data of the file manager, I inadvertently uninstalled the file manager.
I am rooted on Virtuous Prime. I tried to use Titanium to extract the file manager from a nandroid backup; this did not work.
I do not have a titanium backup of the file manager.
Surprisingly, I like this stock file manager.
Is there a way I can get it back? A download?
Can I use adb to push the file manager to the device after extracting it from a ROM?
I don't know if this is the right one, but we can try it. It's the only one I could find.
I also have another file called filemanager2.odex
Im thinking that's just the data in my file manager....if you need that 2nd file, let me know
Added the file...had to change odex to zip to upload....just delete zip and change it back

Click to collapse
If you are on a stock ASUS firmware, most of your system APKs will be odexed. You need both the APK and the odex file for the app to run.
A lot of custom ROMs have deodexed files for several reasons. Some people swear that deodexed ROMs are faster, some swear the opposite. Modifying deodexed ROMs is theorectically slightly easier also as you only need to deal with one file rather than 2.
This is a rather simple, nonsensical explanation of the situation, and I'm sure other folks will chip in with more accurate definitions, however, getting back to the point, YOU WILL NEED THE ODEX FILE ALSO IF ON STOCK.
