Hey I just wanted to add the notification sounds from Anderoids Aosp rom to roms that I use now and might use in the future. I tried unzipping the AOSP one and moving the sound files to the same location in the Trigger Rom folder but when I zipped it up and tried to flash the rom it just hung on installing update or something. Anyone know what to do? I used 7zip to zip it back up and the sound folder is the only thing I touched. The original zip of trigger flashed fine but when I tried to mod it I ran into problems. Heres a link to the AOSP clone.

I have been looking for the last couple days for this...
I want to simply flash a Kernel that will allow me to load my custom "bootanimation.zip" file into system/media and it show on boot-up. The catch is, I don't care to do this by flashing a custom ROM. Don't get me wrong, I really like some of the ROM's that these guys have created, I just don't want to go crazy with them. I want to make my own mix of greatness!
I did the update over Kies Mini, but then flashed the deodexed KA7 stock ROM from the Bible (In development). So it's the stock kernel that came with the KA7 build that I'm running.
I need to know what Kernel is compatible with the KA7 ROM
OR
how do i modify the system myself to make it work with custom bootanimation.zip files??
Any help is appreciated!!!

you can use any 2.2. kernel (most, if not all, support bootanimation.zip) with any 2.2 firmware/ROM. just keep a heads up because a lot of kernels flash their own modem. So if you flash a kernel that flashes a modem besides KA7, you would have to reflash KA7 manually if you want to keep it.
I would PERSONALLY recommend Eugene's Dead Horse kernel....just read before you flash!!!

I've flashed the deodexed KB1 ROM as well as the new KB1 Kernel + Voodoo by supercurio. I have his kernel specifically because it says in the main post "Also supported: custom boot animation, init.d scripts and an improved adb shell (new!)"
I love voodoo... but that's beside the point!
I've copied my bootanimation.zip folder (zipped using store mode, uncompressed) into the system/media folder on my phone and deleted the two samsungbootloop files in there. The damn thing still doesn't play the animation! I only have a 'part0' folder which houses all images labeled 'welcomanimation_0000' with progressing numbering. Permissions set are RWXRWXRW- as they are on most the custom ROM bootanimations I see around.
My 'desc' file has EXACTLY THIS in it:
480 800 30
p 0 0 part0
which was pulled straight from another ROM's bootanimation files!
I don't get it! What in the world am I missing??
It's irritating seeing all of these great boot animations and I can't get my own one working... anyone know what I'm screwing up?
Edit: I'm going to try flashing a custom bootanimation file and simply replacing their file with my file and see if there is something in their script in the flashing process that get's modified that I'm not doing myself through root explorer. Respond and let me know if that is a bad idea... I plan on trying it in about an hour after getting some crap done around the house.
Well... for anyone else that has had this issue...
Downloading an already packaged bootanimation file from one of these lovely moders... replacing their bootanimation.zip file in the media folder and packaging it all back up in a flashable zip folder worked like a charm! Thank you to whomever it was I took the file from... if I knew how to package a file to be flashable, I probably would have done it myself, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of learning.
Problem Solved!
Trying to find a way to get the WidgetClock that runs with NoattachTrix, GingerMod roms and i think most blur based roms to work on CM7 or CM9 roms, I have looked for the apk files and this is all i can find
com.motorola.widgetapp.worldclock.tar.gz
com.motorola.widgetapp.worldclock.apk
com.gusya.android.dockclock-20120227-230831.tar.gz
com.gusya.android.dockclock-20120227-230831.properties
com.android.deskclock-20120227-230432.tar.gz
com.android.deskclock-20120227-230432.properties
com.android.deskclock-7b6e38e70c532142663ed413bdfce579.apk.gz
com.gusya.android.dockclock-7a7a35ecd86184b1c03a211a78c9c4a.apk.gz
com.gusya.android.dockclock.apk
anyone know the specific file or files i need to move over in order to get the desk dock to use the correct widget while docked.
The latest titanium backup for the .apk files are inside the .tar.gz files.
I would extract them, then add them one at a time (rename your originals on your phone to something else) and see which one is the correct one.
Now that's only if they are compatible with CM7/CM9. You might end up with FC's. If that happens, just delete your copy and rename the original again.
Okay so I got the FXP115 CM9 to work
Second after playing around with the FXP115, I now went inside CWM to flash the the dual speaker fix .
Then rebooted the phone, now its getting stuck on the Cyanogen(Mod)9 boot animation screen...
Did the same thing for FXP116 and it never gets passed the CM9 boot animation screen... Dunno whats going on after applying the speaker fix
the flasheable zip file is primary intended to cm 7.2 not cm 9 so you actually have to change the files provided on the op on the zipped rom before flashing it
oh i see... i just thought it would work now since the member who posted the attachment was able to fix it for CM9 speakerfix-by-someguyfromhell.zip
thank you sir, i'll try it out!
welcome anything else i'll be online a while.
I have CM7.2 and it worked for me.
Sent from my WT19i using xda premium
okay so this time i tried combining the files. the method i tried is extracting out the files from the dual speaker fix.
dragged the 2 folders META-INF & System to the CM9FXP116 zip. after combining i flashed it again in CWM, still stuck at the CM9 boot animation screen..
is there a special way of combining the files to make it work on CM9?
Well for cm9 you have to download the rar file from 1st post and then replace the files on the flasheable zip rom with the ones on the rar file.
That should do the trick

ONLY combine the system folder from the dual stereo fix, NOT the meta-inf folder.
the meta-inf contain flash script. if u overwrite the meta-inf folder in fxp116 with the meta-inf folder from dual stereo fix, the flash script would also be overwritten, thus the rom wont be properly flashed.
thank you sir, finally got it to work
i guess the only thing missing now is xLoud
Hi,
I have read through all the posts regarding bootsound for my rom and others and also other phones and have tried many different options.
I have tried for 5days now trying figure how to get sound to work on boot up.
I have put PowerOn.wav and PowerOn.mp3 and PowerOn.ogg in both the system/etc directory and system/media directory, and no luck hearing sound on boot up.
The volume is set as high as possible, all volumes.
I've also tried android_audio.mp3 and android_audio.wav and android_audio.ogg in both directories and all 6 in data/local too and still nothing.
I have tried with BAC app and still nothing.
I have westcrips Resurrection remix 1.4 and 1.5 kernel supplied. I have also tried thoravukk kernel and nothing.
What should I do?
somethimes after u flash kernels the sound goes off, some kernel support sound an some dont..
bootsound
i thought that might be the case, so i tried it with stock kernel that comes with Westcrips res remix (cm9) and then i flashed thoravukk kernel and tried sound again and still nothing.
Would you know what kernel i could try that actually does support bootsound??
better ask this in the remix resurection thread,,,i am on stock an yes i do flash an for me too some roms don give the boot sound, but coming to auto everything works...
Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately I am unable to post yet in that forum because I am new
Location is >>> for ICS system /etc PowerOn.OGG.

Thanks for that. I've tried that file aswell. I don't suppose you have a working poweron.ogg file.
I used a converter to convert original sgs2 sound poweron.wav to .ogg but I'm hoping my issue is simply incompatible format or size. Its really doing my head in.
From stock rom .

Unfortunately I can't download the file, it keeps trying to download but it each time as it starts it fails. Can u post it on here at all?
If it is CM9 base it wont work. Its to do with the system vold. Samsung run a different system vold, vold.stab and several other files. Better off a samsung based ROM that has been modded to be mostly AOSP.
I will be uploading one very soon, but I am still testing. Bootsound works. it was own of my requirements.
Check out dynamic or anyone in the list of Touchwiz based ROMs even though they may not look TW they will have the required files.
Also siyah kernel seems to support this along with all the other cool stuff like FM radio etc. Use it. It also allows for duel boot systems i.e. you can run two OS and you it supports CM and Samsung which is even better. no need to change kernels at all
This this
Hello,
Try renaming the file to:
boot_audio
and this should be im mp3 format. Place it on this path:
system/media
reboot and check.
hi..
ive tried the Eracter rom today, but it didnt work on my phone, so i went back to Pimms Experience rom. but i wanted the battery status and signals status from Eracter status bar. So i extracted systemui.apk from Eracter, copied all the files from \res\drawable-hdpi and into the Experience systemui.apk via Virtuous Ten Studio. compiled a new systemUI.apk. that all went good.
but now the question. how do i get this new systemUI.apk installed on my phone? i cant overwrite it on the phone because it is a running app. cant force to stop the app, phone wont stop it even if i say it should. so i tried thru CWM and found a lot of empty flashable zips, this dont work either, i am getting an error 0 when flashing the zip. installation aborted. i tried to make a zip with xdaAutoTool, but also this zip file failes.
I then found a font installer zip, erased whats inside the zip and made system\app\systemUI.apk and this one installed and phone startet up with updating apps. but it didnt change anything at the stausbar.
so how can i install my systemUI.apk???? i am on Acro s 6.1.a.2.5.0 lt26w
and still have to say, customizing iphone is way easier sorry guys.
please help
I did the opposite of this, I used Pims' SystemUI.apk in the Eracter ROM.
You can find here how to create a zip file to flash it via CWM.
Only thing you have to do is to put your SystemUI.apk to the blank zip file.
/system/app/SystemUI.apk
