ok newbee on the move - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok so i try rooting the phone and now im having problems with the adb its not reading the phone i guess so wen i put the command in it kicks me back to my username.. is there any othe software other then that adb thing thank you..

nope !
AND
why did you make another post with the same question as your last post. Why do you even need to root your phone? What do you hope to do once rooted? Spam the themes app section with more stupid posts? Honestly just be happy with the stock device, judging by the way you talk, refuse to search for any information yourself, and repeatedly beg for help, you are not ready to root. You are going to be the same guy spamming the dev boards for help after you have bricked your device due to lack of following directions. Its not a hard process, I only got into android last october and I have successfully rooted my Dinc, Nook Color( which was a beast flashing and whatnot in the early days when you had to dd a image, lol) an aria and my bolt. I never bricked anything, and I never felt the need to make a useless lazy post begging for help. The answers aare all here, stop being a lazy **** and READ. I am so tired of seeing total idiots on here needing help with root. If you cant be bothered to just follow directions, chances are you are going to screw something up. people like you are pretty much destroying XDA

Dude, WTF is up with the duplicate thread? You already asked in another thread and were pretty much told what you need to do.

G4 Bricked

Is there any known way to fix a bricked G4?
bricked or dead explain more your problem
Bricked
It was bricked, I had the Bule, Green, Red screen. But I went to http://www.htcamerica.net/support/81...downloads.html and flashed the original Rom. Thanx for trying to help though, it's much appriciated.
- Artzmaster01
You were just in bootloader screen, it wasn't bricked! Wouldn't hurt if you gave some details.
Jeez . . .
Sorry for being a noob. Is anyone here actually helpful or are all of you just stuck up?

i'm a NOOB too but you can't expect to be spoon fed can you? this is THE development site for our devices and the guys here are helpful to a fault..but what would your mechanic say if you towed your car into the garage and said it doesn't work? you just didn't provide the information required to get an answer...not that you needed an answer from the guys here...it's all in the wiki or do a search it's been asked a thousand times. if your asking for help in future i'd suggest your more civil about, "you'll catch more fly's with honey"
Done that
I think the search engine is broken cuz I've searched for information about what I want to learn and it will tell that it's invalid. And I tried to be civil but the guy practically told me that I was an idiot, there's no need for it.

Strange . . . I didn't get that impression from the replies you got. As far as your searches saying "invalid", I have no idea exactly what your search criteria was, but you might want to use this in the future.
As far as knownuser's reply, he's right on the money. Noone here "owes" you any thing. It's up to YOU to do the reading to learn what you need to know. Everything you need is either in the Wiki or in the forums' threads. The developers here are developing and they don't have time to respond to questions that have already been asked -- and answered -- a thousand times over. If you're not willing to learn by taking the time to read the information that's already available on here, then you don't belong here in the first place. The developers here don't have time to spoon feed every noob that keeps asking the same question over and over.
Now, if MY response makes you feel like an idiot -- if the shoe fits . . .
OK . . .
One . . . I never said that anyone OWED me ANYTHING. Two . . . if it's a question that YOU or anyone else has previously answered, then why answer it again and get frustrated? JUST DON'T REPLY! WOW! Sounds so hard . . . So I screwed up, sue me . . . >=P
P.S. And NO, you didn't make me feel like an idiot. You just made yourself look like a stuck up jack ass

There's a reason many members get frustrated when forced to answer the same question on a regular basis. In their/my eyes this indicates a lack of understanding and reading on behalf of the member who posted the question. This is a known problem with many forums.
P.S You would be well advised not to abuse other established members who obviously know more than you do. On the off chance that you do require assistance again in the near future, abusing other members pretty much gurantees you wont receive it.
Understandable
FINALLY! Someone explaining things WITHOUT trying to rip me a new one. I understand where you're coming from, but I did apologize for being ignorant yet people felt the need to unload their repressed anger towards me. I am truly sorry for getting ahead of myself and I do appreciate all of the hard work that all of the senior members have put into making our HTC experience a good one; but that tends to make themselves into arrogant monarchs who become full of themselves. Trust me, I know what it's like to get frustrated, I'm a karate instructor who has to deal with kids from ages 4 and up 5 days a week. And if any parent here is reading, they know how tough dealing with a 4 year old can be. Try dealing with 30 at a time . . . But no matter how much more I know than someone in the martial arts, I NEVER act better than them. It's bad for business. So in closing, Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this board but frankly some of you need to cool down a bit. Thanx Peter Petrelli (love the SN, Heros rocks!) for being the only one to politely tell me what I did was wrong.
Best way to deal with Senior members with tendency to flame newbies (i confess!) is to ask like you're Shrek's ***** cat making those 'feel pity for me' big eyes:
"Can you please kindly tell me..."
"I've searched for hours and haven't had much luck in finding the..."
"I've used the search engine a lot but most of the results don't work. Can anyone point me on the right direction?"
and son on and so forth
cheers

I love noobie bricks!!
Ok I get interested reading a thread like this.
Honestly is it not easier to say: I have a phone blah blah, which I tried to blah blah blah, and all I'm getting is blah blah, can someone guide me on what to do or is it dead or not dead? (I think bricked has been abused in this case)
All will easily be explained and someone will help. Details do help! First thing I do, whenever I want to do something is read and read the forum. Thats why I have less posts! ha ha I would have asked alot but frankly all the info (to a certain degree) has been provided
noob mistake from a PC tech, lol...
I very stupidly didn't check to see if a Wizard was a G3 or G4 and flashed the WM5 IPL 1.01 downgrade on it thinking it was a G3 and I was setting up for use with LokiWiz. It tried to boot after the flash, but it froze. Now, it just flickers for a split second when I attempt to power it on. I tried entering bootloader through camera + power, camera + reset, comm + voice + reset, as well as mail + camera + power, and nothing is making it enter bootloader. I'm figuring that in my assumption I made an a** outta myself and finally bricked my first phone, after sucessfully flashing about 20. I read somewhere that you could cut your power cord and tap the live contacts to pins 1 and 5 and unbrick a seriously bricked phone, but can't seem to find the article again. Would someone kindly point me in the right direction? Also, has anyone had any luck with this method?
To enter bootloader you keep 'voice' pressed and poke the reset hole briefly but then again it's nothing that doesn't come in the wiki
One of the things that I tried. I didn't list it though, I'm going nuts with this phone. When I do that it still shows nothing. What I think I did was flash the G3 bootloader on a G4 device. Does anyone know the cut cable method?
No, if you do so and make your Wizard can't even power on, then it's a brick. It is nearly impossible to recover unless you know the JTAG method (AFAIK, only 1 person here successfully unbrick a really bricked G4, and he didn't tell us how).
my suggestion for the bricked phone (if indeed it is bricked, ie., it won't turn on at all) is to call HTC up and see if you phone is under warranty. I bought my cingular 8125 off of ebay and i use it with a canadian provider, so there is no warranty from anyone in that case, but suprisingly, when i bricked my G4 and I was gonna send it to get it fixed at whatever cost they were gonna say, they went by the IMEI # and said that it was still under warranty (irrespective of the fact that i bought it off of ebay and that i wasnt a cingular customer) and fixed it at no cost. They even changed the entire housing and put a new one on there for free (no idea why). So call them and try it. You have nothin to loose by calling. Good luck, i understand the pain and anguish and the "kick myself in the a**" feeling when yo flash a G3 onto G4 unknowingly coz thats what happened to me. again, good luck.

First thing you'll want to do is head over to the developer section and read the stickies and the instructions, familiarize yourself with Android and with ADB (I don't recommend 1-step-rooting). Make sure you're careful in what you're doing as deviation from the SOP may cause your new Thunderbolt to be as usefull as a rock. I promise you, if you take the time to read everything that's involved, the learning curve isn't as steep.
Im preety familiar with the whole android thing.. but is there a step in particular so i can root it in one shot.. can you email me please.. [email protected]
i see this going bad, lol
Lmao i just need some one not to talk to me in xda language. I rooted my last android took me like 1 month but i did it... Please at least help me out finding the correct drive for it...

Havu watched YouTube video
inc
Is there any in specific??
I bought the TBolt on release date. I rooted it the day the exploit came out. I followed the directions as a total newbie to Android (albeit not to *IX).
I knew my way around a command prompt and a debugger (gdb), and I didn't copy/paste the commands because I'm OCD.
Nevertheless, having known nothing about android nor about "rooting" my phone, I found that everything I needed -- all the knowledge to complete the task -- was found right here on XDA. The directions to manually root your phone are so simple, really, that I could probablly teach a 10 year old to do it!
So I suggest just reading up, not try to take shortcuts, and ask questions that are relevant and not "sendz me a 1click rootz plzkthx".
You better just read up. What if you mess something up? Are you really going to get on here and wait for someone to fix it? Learn rather than ask for answers spoon fed to you.
ok ok.. let see if u guy can help me with this... i got the adb drive thing.. i did everything step by step and wen i go to the cmd and change directory it kicks me back to my users name.. i can give the link to the viedeo were im getting it from maybe u can help me.. Get an iPhone and give the Thunderbolt to someone who knows what they are doing and can form a sentence correctly. Then we don't need to go through with this.
ahh cut him some slack, i always encourage anyone, no matter what, to root their device and take control of what they paid for back from the carriers.
anyway just read the tutorials, it will be tested and safe, and just follow step by step.
also i pissed myself about dropping bombs on his phone!!
Ok i got recomended this forum if i need help. And im doing exactly that.. if you guy cant help me why even write stupid and noncense shi*. I didnt ask for no ones opinion. And i did got the iphone first but i was more familiar with the adroid. I've done read everything and i actually tried it last night. And the i had a problem with the ADB. And i rooted my intercept it was my last phone. So if you guys can direct me to another way other then that ADB I WOULD APRECIATED.

no...just no.... omg dude are you twelve, lol. You need to use ADB. Period. stop whining because you can't figure it out and if you do not find xda helpful, there is a little red x in the corner of your browser. Click it, I am sure xda will not miss you.
Wow you mad..lol i guess is not the adb im having problems with.. wen i put in the commands in the cmd it sends me back to my username.. thats my problem. And why do you guys keep insulting me, im just asking questions..
Ok lets start with the basics first. Do you have ADB installed? You say youre not new to the "whole Android" thing, so im gonna go out on a limb and assume that you know what ADB means. If not I suggest you GOOGLE it and find out what it means and then, download ADB and install it. Second off if your using Windows you need to know if youre on a 32bit or 64bit OS, OR if youre on linux you need to figure out what distro you have and install in through terminal (nemesis2all has a step by step thread on how to) GOOGLE will be youre savior.
Next after you install your ADB drivers you need head over to the Android Development section and look at the S-off/ Permaroot thread and read it step by step. Of course you need to check to make sure ADB is working correctly which you should have already done ie..
TYPE: adb devices
-list devices attached-
Follow the steps that are listed to a tee and dont try to skip anything.
There is a Thunderbolt fossnet channel where you can ask for help.
Your brother in law who has an EVO used a program called Unrev0ked3 which is a plug and click program that does all the work for you. With the thunderbolt, its all done manually, even the "one click" methods still require ADB use. In all honesty if you dont know ADB please leave youre phone alone. There are lots of great people on here as well as in IRC that will help but if youre going to be stupid and say you know things then come back 2 min later asking the same questions you won't recieve much if any help.
Do some research on rooting the Thunderbolt before jumping in, this phone is still very young in its developing stages and if you mess up it requires manual fixing.
PS: I apologize for the improper grammar, my girlfriend is waiting for me to come join her so I'm in a rush to get this typed.
very well said mr. obvious (lol hard to say that without sounding sarcastic...nice!)
just to add one thing, i used s/off permaroot method with very very very little adb knowledge and worked fine...just follow the steps exactly and instead of typing you can copy and paste each command one by one...makes easier and faster.
good luck

Problems....

Lmao to everyone having problems with the ota.
Should just been stock then figured out everything after the fact. Have fun. I'm done.
What is the point of this thread other then you being rude?
I don't post much but when I do, its generally asking a question or looking for help. I am very grateful for everyone on the forums, most everyone here is willing to help out. I know that some people get frustrated that the same questions get asked over and over again, and that some people should try the search bar before asking for help. That frustration, I understand.
But in all honesty, I feel your post was uncalled for. Don't you remember being a noob and just starting out?
Sorry, I had to say something.
Great job A$$!
Here's the propper thread from someone who is a definite asset to this website :

See the difference?
Currently not being productive on my S3.
Love you mike.s!
No homo
I don't even understand what he's trying to say. He needs to go to an institute for kids that don't type so good.
Should have been stock for the ota update cuz no one had problems of they were stock and waited for the ota instead of flashing. Douche
I too waited for the update before doing anything to my phone except HTCdev unlock and have had no problems. Why is it everyone who is having problems installing the OTA feels the need to start their own thread about it instead of heaven forbid actually reading someone else's thread or using search?
Yet another pointless thread...:silly:
Closed.

The best thread for NOOBS, rooting the S3

Could someone point me to the ultimate thread for this?
I know nada about rooting, and im also new to Android, and before i dig into to that, i need info on do's and dont's, advantages/disadvantages, what to look out for, and if the process can be reversed back to stock fw?
Thanks :fingers-crossed:

My bad, i should have mentioned that ive already used the notorious search button, which apparently leads to ALOT of DIFFERENT threads about the same topic, hence my question, "which is the ULTIMATE thread for noobs"
Im sorry, but I dont know which is the right thread and not, if i did, i wouldnt bother asking that question, would i?
In theory its just downloading a file, unzip it, connect phone to computer and execute, right?
http://youtu.be/vhSSmdqAXRM
However, after a long life, my experience is that it would be convenient to know more than just the action itself, cause there are always traps, which isnt always mentioned or described in those threads cause they take for granted that people who want to do this already know everything about it.
If there are risks involved doing it, like choosing the wrong vers, having the wrong bb etc, i want to learn and be aware of it BEFORE i attempt or even consider doing it, cause i dont want to brick my phone.
Unfortunatelly i have a daytime job, and not much time left for reading through endless threads and comments, thats why i addressed the experienced members in here that already know what im looking for, and can in his, or her way save me for reading all the stuff that i dont need to know, or are irrelevant in my case
Btw, i got a GT-I9300 with 4.1.2 - BB I9300XXEMB5
Dont mean to be rude, but sharing is caring, and i would love to help others in the same way sharing my knowledge, if i could, instead of just inform people about the search function... its getting old.
Im a little tired of all the wise guys in here sitting on their horses pretending to know everything, but isnt willing to help or share in a nice way, instead just being arrogant in a patronizing way.
I can assure you, if you threat people more friendly, people will show more gratefulness in return, and if you dont, u get ungrateful speaches like this in return instead
A good atmosphere is much easier to achieve if you include people, rather than exclude them....
Hope i dint offend you with my "speach"

there is no "right thread" and they are all full of various things you could do with knowing. there are a lot of people who come here expecting a quick and easy "which is the ULTIMATE thread for noobs" - there is none, they're all relivant.
In theory its just downloading a file, unzip it, connect phone to computer and execute, right?

I agree with everything you said here, which is why you should read the threads, they're all relivant
Unfortunatelly i have a daytime job, and not much time left for reading through endless threads and comments, that's why i addressed the experienced members in here that already know what im looking for, and can in his, or her way save me for reading all the stuff that i dont need to know, or are irrelevant in my case
unfortunately, i also have a day time job (oh what a chore hey?) most of the people, including the devs and the more experienced members here have jobs too, i doubt they all came here with instant vast knowledge on how to flash and all of it's woes, i also doubt they just came here and asked someone to pick out all the best bit for them. I bet they read all the posts, dammit they made the posts, the roms you will use, the rooting procedures. everything on here - for you to say "save me for reading all the stuff that i dont need to know, or are irrelevant in my case" is just being ignorant, as i've said everything is relevant, it seems that you want to know everything and share the knowledge but don't want to read about it - it's the only way to learn
Btw, i got a GT-I9300 with 4.1.2 - BB I9300XXEMB5
Dont mean to be rude, but sharing is caring, and i would love to help others in the same way sharing my knowledge, if i could, instead of just inform people about the search function... its getting old.
how do you expect to share knowledge, if you don't read all the info and just get told what you want to know?
Im a little tired of all the wise guys in here sitting on their horses pretending to know everything, but isnt willing to help or share in a nice way, instead just being arrogant in a patronizing way.
i'm pretty sure all the "wise guys" on here are fed up with noobs (I by the way, still consider myself a noob) coming here and asking for things to be given to them on a silver platter! we/they are not being patronizing or arrogant, they are simply telling you to do your research - just like they did.
I can assure you, if you threat people more friendly, people will show more gratefulness in return, and if you dont, u get ungrateful speaches like this in return instead
i think you meant treat not "threat" oh and thanks for the assurance . i'm sorry you are being ungrateful just because someone (I) told you to read up! - it's probably not the best way to get help when you refer to the members as "wise guys" "sitting on their high horses" "being arrogant in a patronizing way" - that's how you portray friendliness?

I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but i'm not being an A$$ - i'm telling you that what you need to know is all in those posts.
i'm done
Of course mate, i didnt expect you to read for me, lol, but i was hoping to get pointed to the "most relevant" thread about what i wanted to know, and probably one single thread would be more than enough info to read up.
Forums like these are getting out of proportions after some years, and sometimes impossible to navigate through, and why shouldnt i be allowed to ask for help or shortcuts? Who made up that rule?
If i had been here two years longer than you, doesnt mean i need to hold back any info cause i had to learn everything the hard way, instead i would gladly at least guide people in the right direction.
Ive been in allot of different forums over the past years with different kinds if subjects, but never a forum like this where people are so grumpy and very little welcoming and including, there are no "welcome to the forum buddy, i will try my best to guide you in the right direction"
Eventually one will find the way on its own, but sometimes its nice to be lead onto the right path.
I totally agree, and i ALWAYS try to find the answers im looking for through the search function before i ask, but when i stall, i post in a friendly and humble way like i tried to in my original post.
If all the answers to your questions was to read through every topic, there would be vert little activity in here, but then again, maybe easier to browse through.
A forum where its "stupid" or not "allowed" to ask questions is to me more equal to Google... yea, Google is your friend, but sometimes you wish to know more spesific things...
And thanks to you too, im not rooting my phone, cause im not able to find the proper info im looking for... and gives me one more reason to get back to my "boring" Iphone again... but hey, life goes on anyway... :good:

I don't want to sound arrogant or anything and I am always happy to help, but if you do not find the guide for rooting... it seems you didn't follow the advice given to you in the posts earlier.
That are stickies in the general section which will help you to understand the basics of rooting, flashing etc. And in addition you have tons of YouTube guides out there.
Hence I wish you good luck, anything is out there for you to learn and share later on, just a little bit of effort is needed to get there.
Btw here you go again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927113 and even at the beginning of the q&a section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148708

I am going to add that you should pick the method that you actually understand the instructions for . That goes for all other flashes updates etc .
If you don't understand then you will probably be joining the help i bricked my phone club .

Finally someone who understands where im going with this, thanks... And that was the intention with this thread, to get a pointer to the one or maybe two or even three or four threads that covers the most essential things... I dont know whats essential or not (yet), i can surely read dozens of how to's but i still dont know if its the right solution for my phone and the vers i have.
A bit like jb an iphone, just download this and do that... "oh, you had that bb vers" "thats the only one thats not compatible with this vers" sorry u bricked your phone.
But it feels like its just, if u got the balls, or know everything about it, just do it, or everything is at your own risk, its a hit or miss thing...
I dont think i will root my phone after all, cause there are so much info on how to do it that differs from eachother, and nobody cant seem to tell which thread is the right one for MY phone...
But thanks anyway, to those that actually tried to point me there...

Sorry you are wrong a day or two actually reading the basic faqs and guides is the starting point that you don't want to start with .This is after all a developers forum that has no place spoon feeding those that dont want to learn .
Their is no best the basic stickied faqs and guides all say the same as do the instructions for each method .
The confusion lies in answers to posts like this where xx say this way is best and b say no use x .Unfortunately due to multiple same posts it is not that easy to navigate the forum but the answer to that is for noobs to bother reading the facts and guides before posting repetitive questions .
I would in your case read the instructions and use CF Root method .

Look for cf auto root if you don't want recovery to be stock. Use cf root if u want the custom recovery. To all advanced user out there, correct me if I'm wrong.

Haha. Can't edit with xda app. What I really mean is, cf auto root will not change your recovery. Accidentally put "dont" there.

My bricked kindle is dead.

So someone said that if your device dies it can still be detected by adb or something , could someone explain those steps or add in something else I can do to save this kindle.
Heres how I got it bricked.
I changed my build.prop and I forgot to set the permissions to 644, then after shutting down my kindle, it did nothing but pop up to the gray screen and then straight to the black screen.
Same here, but mine seems to have lost root in the process: when I try to mount and chmod through adb, I get "Operation not permitted" and "read-only file system".

Sounds like Amazon locked up ecosystem just got them a pile of returns...
How many threads do we need on same basic subject...because somebody didnt listen the first time somone was walking them though something that they probably shouldn't have been doing to begin with...without days of research...let's have 5 threads one first page of general discussing bricks caused by prop build edits... And people complain because they can't find anything....... right now I believe typing skills are completely overrated because people's fingers are working faster than their eyes and their comprehension level... It's easier to type a question over and over again and expect individual independent attention that it is to read obviously.... Not pointing fingers at OP but the few of us that are here to help are stretched pretty thin over all these threads discussing the same thing....end rant. Also if the first method didnt work for me , what would you expect?
Could you also read every word in my starting thread please?

I'm glad you got your replacement ....
And like I said there are many threads here for the exact problem you had... Believe me you are not the only one that did this.. And now we have everybody that can help trying to chime in on 10 different threads to say the same thing to fix the same problems.. Your problem was not unique trust me. For example this thread was buried under at least 5 I brick my kindle threads and pushed to second page..read OP and last two page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588608... The point is there was no clear answer at the time you were seeking one and you were inpatient you walked away from the think tank to seek yet more individual attention and so did a bunch of people. When all along you were getting individual attention back in the main thread when you made a mistake and forgot to do something.... So let's complicate the already difficult feet in finding information on this forum by burying them under repeat threads that info and clarity are patchy at best because anybody that can help is trying to be everywhere at the same time...end rant
I knew once people start touch the prop there would be a flood of brickings on the forum. BE CAREFUL WITH BUILD.PROP.
Even I bricked a rom slot messin around. If your unsure about something, DON'T TOUCH IT.
Words of advice.

+1. I thought I did it NEasy way I used Rom manager lite to edit prop build just scroll down edit all lines properly reboot you don't have to mess with the permissions the application takes care of it...worked great. Probably could've used any prop build editing app.

Well the last link that I pasted work for me and it has helped at least six other people get their ADB working again if you would read all the other brick threads I have helped several people . My thanks meter didn't go from 5 to 48 in a week just because of the rants I have been a member here for a couple of years now and I never posted anything until the last few months no questions no threads all I did was read read read and I have solved all my problems. And I am no developer a simple mechanic. I currently own three HDX, 2, 7 inch 1 8.9 one S4 still on MdK bootloader running KitKat a Tab a 3 10.1 a tab 3 7.0 a Moto razr m with a unlock bootloader that was done a year ago and a note 10.0 all of them rooted and custom and those are just me and my girls devices not including the children's there are also both tab 2 7.0 and NO BRICKS ( currently of course) not one time have I started a thread. Or even thought adout it with a question that has been answered or at least asked in several other threads. Before doing my own homework and my own research. I did not type my first word on this forum until last few months. So excuse me if I believe a person is responsible for doing their own homework and their own research before asking others of their free time to come rescue me. The only thing that doesn't work here apparently is the comprehension level. And the refusal or inability to follow directions. And the wishes for a 1 click answer which currently is not available for this device. Happy hunting ..... I didnt find all this links " that don't work " by not doing my own research. I was the first person back in the thread u broke ur device in... To successfully follow his original and vague Op...with success and no problems...so like in yo terms whatevea

Just because I will not an expert and wasn't willing to hold your hand and spend hours typing all this stuff out personally I was referring you to perfectly good information that had work for me or have been known fixes for many others.. Don't blame me and my rants for your inabilities comprehend and follow directions.. Remember I am not the one that got in a hurry mess up my device and send it in for a false warranty claim due to my own negligence.

Please close or delete thread Moderator per first rule of forum poster did not search before post several threads were started before this one with same problem..poster did not follow though to a productive result.. Therefore containing no useful information thank you.
Still having a problem that has not been solved in any other threads, I downloaded the QTSP 9008 driver and still nothing.
Please dont reply unless you have some helpful information
this has turned into something else but rants seem to happen because theres no progress
Calm your tits 's. I said it before and I'll say it again to everyone. Impatience = brick. Patience = knowledge. Don't rush it. Read up on what your doing to your $200+ electronic locked device. If you bricked it Amazon can unbrick it so return it. They don't lose a dime. If we're unlocked we will have more to offer but as of now it is how it is.:fingers-crossed:

The Amazon site go to Kindle troubleshooting and it will show a place to leave your phone number if you would like them to call you they call you you answer you tell him it will not boot correctly and they will send you a refurbished unit. That is of course as long as it is not a black listed unit and you are the original purchaser so on and etc. or just be patient since you are the one that messed up your unit and do the responsible thing by fixing it yourself technically I would believe this would be a false warranty claim but do it at your own choosing and by the way they are making tons of project progress in the recovery of this device hopefully we will have something very very soon and you if you are still on the old firmware you may even get a full bootloader unlock.. Good luck whichever direction you do choose to go. just remember and heed the warnings on your next new device so you don't end in the same situation immediately like so many others here have done.
