[Q] Can i Mix .435 Firmware with .52 BaseBand? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All
I Am writing to ask if it is possible to flash the .52 BaseBand on .435 firmware
i have searched for this quite a lot but no answer has presented itself to me.
i really want to try FreeKernal Alpha but it cannot be used with .54 baseband which is what i have (i've tried and it just resulted in the phone rebooting as soon as it had booted up)
any help is much appreciated
thanks

[Q] Can someone explain to me the basebands, ROMS, and f/w files?

Ok so I have the x10i
Baseband is 2.1.54
Build number is 2.1.A.0.435
What do they mean ? and how do these affect roms, ( are roms specific to certain basebands or build numbers?)
and would Cyanogen CM7.0 RC4 v013 Gingerbread 2.3.3 work on my phone?
Thanks for you help this is a one time question and I plan to understand this stuff once and for all
Basebrand basically just means what type of radio signal I believe. Build number is the firmware that you have. Usually ROMS require a certain type of basebrand, so always look for it before you flash anything. CM 7 wouldn't work on your phone because you are running .54 basebrand and it runs on .52 basebrand. If you do not have the correct basebrand you can have a bootloop in which your phone basically doesnt function at all. If you fairly new to this i suggest you flash a stable ROM such as CM6.1.3 by wolfbreak or Freex10 Rom by Z.(both work with .54 basebrand) CM7 is too unstable for a new user to be testing
Alright thanks!
I will check out those roms
So ROMs can work on any Firmware version? but they are only working for certain basebands?
There's normally a list of requirements on the ROM thread that you want to flash. Should normally work if you have the correct basebrand though. =)
Thanks!
Baseband - it is concerned with the cellular reception , signal strength, data etc. The newer the baseband the better reception.
Each rom works on a specific baseband just like posted above.

[Q] X10MINI 2.1.1.A.0.16 Firmware Version

To all the developers and members of XDA,
I bought an X10mini and found out that the firmware version is 2.1.1.A.0.16 , can i flash it to MiniCM6 2.2 ROM ? the baseband is M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 but the firmware is not 2.1.1.A.0.6..
I tried to to reinstall the ROM using PC companion and the version that i get is still 0.16 and not 0.6 .
I wonder if anyone here have the version same as mine and can i flash it to custom ROM ? i search throughout the treads and did not found any 2.1.1.A.0.16 available, is this the latest version or because the version is differ because of countries?
Any helps will be well-appreciated, thanks !
This is because you have the 2011 X10 Mini. Everything should work normally.
You have a previous FW, if you want to flash without fear, flash to the new FW and them flash it to MiniCM6 2.2 ROM.
You can use WotanClient, sign in the site of the program, it is free, and very easy flash with this program, and you can downgrade or upgrade your phone.
ok, Thank you for the information !
the important things are baseband and kernel, because when you upgrade to 2.2 or 2.3 the stock firmware will be replaced.
but before flashing with any rom kindly make a backup

[Q] About baseband .77 - Brazil

Hi everyone,
Recently, I flashed the stock .587 firmware and made some tweaks in build.prop.
And data is not working now.
(even without tweaks data wasnt working)
Never faced this problem before (except for some custom roms)
I'm on baseband .77 and before flash stock ROM I was on .72
Started to think that baseband .77 IS NOT avaliable in Brazil.
Is this true? Do I need to flash .72 again?
The device is ST15
Already searched but didnt found anything about it.
Thank you...
try to flash stock rom again, in ftf file format using flashtool, not a flashable cwm rom.

[Q] Baseband files

Hello I am trying to downgrade an Xperia X10i to Android 2.2 or 2.1 to use some cellphone network unlocking software. I am having a problem flashing a rom but I think it's because I need to flash a compatible baseband. I've searched XDA and there are a list of files but none of the links are working unfortunately - would anyone be able to link to baseband: 2.1.55 or 2.1.54 please for the X10i? I also need the 2.6.29 kernal then hopefully I'll be able to flash a 2.1/2/2 rom successfully.
Cheers.
