Remove sync apps? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I remember some of the old blackhole builds having just the keyboard in running services. I have the keyboard and syncservice. Can i remove that app? Wanting to delete entirely.

Well seeing as it is in the list when you go menu=>settings=>applications, but is not found in the app drawer, and it is an android app, kinda seems like it may be an important "core" android app that you shouldn't or possibly can't delete. I believe it has something to do with syncing your contacts data and possibly more.

Thanks for the reply. The phone works with the process stopped. Fusionone was the force close i got when i deleted it once before.
Some of the 2.1 blackhole roms had it stripped out without that force close.

Well fusionone was at the beginning of the name of the app when I looked at it under menu=>settings=>applications=>running applications. Must be a way of safely getting rid of it that is more complex and involved than just deleting it.

If you're talking about backup assistant that is the vzw app, you can remove it, but doing so will prevent you from successfully completing phone activation or prl updating. That's the reason it's been left in since Froyo leaks have come out.

[Q] Market woes.

For some reason when downloading an app from the Market, the app will keep re-downloading if i exit the Market. The only way i can download anything is to keep the market open to allow it to fully download and install.
Anyone else have this issue? is it because of the V6 supercharger script?
I do not use a task killer at all.
Happens constantly. Extremely annoying. I also can't download and install .apks directly from my phone no matter what. The ONLY way I can do it is by connecting to my computer. Then that creates a new USB issue all together.
General rant. Sorry. This thing needs a custom ROM like a fat kid needs cake.
Couldn't agree more with that last statement, I occasionally get the same issue with the .apks bit it's not constant.

You can't install .apks from your phone's SDCard because you have "Unknown Sources" unchecked in your application settings menu.
I also have the problem where quitting the market application will cancel downloads, but it doesn't do that whenever I "minimize" it, if you will, only whenever I force quit it.
Is this what you're talking about or am I misunderstanding?
I believe it's from minimizing it as well. Also unknown sources is selected on my device I believe the only reason I've had any lock ups in installing .asks is due to an occasional glitch in Dolphin, also how does one properly minimize an application?

By hitting the home button. If you'd like to continue where you left off after minimizing an app hold the home button down until recent apps pops up.

That's a mighty big assumption that I have it unchecked. It is checked. This isn't my first rodeo pal, I know what I'm doing.

Must be one of those beautiful software glitches, not too gamebreaking though. I still love this phone.

Issues with downloading apks
I've had some issues with unsuccessful downloads of apks. I've been tweaking 7 different x2 and the issues seem completely random. I've saved all the apks to a folder on the comp, so now I just drag and drop them in. Installing hasn't been a problem though. I was wondering if I should try the new market update or stick with what I have. Haven't really noticed an issue with it, on any of them.

It will auto update even if you do that, unless you freeze it somehow.. I did the uninstall updates a couple times last night when it got pushed to my phone.. but it kept auto updating...
I still haven't received the update...I assume I just open the market and it'll start updating when it has it right?
Does it matter if I'm on Kenn's beta 4 and not any sort of official OTA build or anything?

I'm not sure if its my phone specifically or the fact the Vibrant doesn't run ICS natively, but Chrome force closes on every attempt to open it. I've cleared app data, wiped davlik, rebooted and still no avail.

Passion V12 as well. Only thing that comes to mind with why it isn't working is that I have Google 2-Step verification enabled and there may be bugs with that. Going to turn 2-Step off to help rule that out.

i had issues with 2-step verification as well on this device and my nook. i turned it off. its more trouble than its worth. i'm not stashing nuclear launch codes or my bank account number in my email anyway. plus i keep my passwords pretty convoluted anyway
I flashed over to ICSSGS ROM last night so can't give a clear answer if 2-Step verification was causing the crashes or not on Passion. FWIW, Chrome Beta works fine on this ROM with 2-Step enabled.

It's definitely annoying not to have flash on such an anticipated Google release, but most developers I talk to seem to agree that we should all just let Flash die off.

I just cleared app data/cache and I think that fixed my problem.
I just went into maps and messed around for a couple of minutes and exited out and everything was ok.
Before, my phone rebooted when exiting out of app.
Hopefully that's the fix
Thanks

Restarts here too. I started a thread in the Apps section because I didn't see this one here.
Mine happens most frequently after trying to use Latitude, Local or My Places.
I'm glad I stumbled across this thread... I thought it was just me..I was afraid (despite running a RUU and doing a complete wipe of my phone prior to the ICS update) that it was the ROM. I haven't had issues with the Map application itself so much as I am using the 'Local' app. That's what causing my phone to soft reboot.
I'm having this issue over on the One X as well. I ended up sideloading the previous version of the Maps app from the link below:
http://www.iapktop.com/google-maps-6-9-2.html
there are 3 thread on this topic.... XD

im going to ask this here too. someone with the problem please send me a logcat
maps works fine on my device and would like to help you ppl out.
viper rom, updated to latest RUU, AR 3.15 recovery 2.27 Hboot.
Hmm I was just about to return my phone for this issue. thank you all for letting me know i'm not alone on this, guess Verizon will be flooded on this Google should fix it soon then.
Go in setup/apps and uninstall updates for maps. Make sure to UN check auto updates.

Having CONSTANT lag!

Does having a lot of downloaded apps on your phone create lag? I currently ha e more apps on my phone then ever before but I'm not sure if its due to running jellybean rather than ics. Its getting quite annoying that the phone freezes up all the time.
Sent from my Jelly Bean'd EVO LTE
Having a lot of downloads apps is fine as long as you have sufficient storage left "IMO". However having a lot of apps running at the same time can cause all kinds of issues lag, freezing, rebooting, etc. You can check the play store for a startup monitor app and restrict all of your downloaded app from running at boot. Well all of the ones you don't want running at boot. "Waring" Use extreme caution if you decide to go this route with stopping system apps from starting up when the phone is booting up. Only stop apps that you know are safe to stop from starting at boot. If you don't know don't stop it until you find out. Another option is titanium backup. If your rooted/or plan to root. Its an app that has a slew of useful features, the ability to freeze data apps and system apps as well. Once you freeze an app it won't start up when you turn the phone on. If your concern is storage you can try an app called links2sd. You can find the app here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en
in the play store. Also you can check out the website's f&q here
http://www.link2sd.info/faq
to read on how it works Don't know if this will solve your issue but its something you can give a try. Hope this helps.

Have you tried changing the overclock settings? Has this problem started when you updated your meanbean? That could be the issue, because mikey constantly tweaks the governor and o/c amount.

Glad you got it all solved. Also a start up monitor app isn't a task killer if that's what you thought I meant. You can use apps like system turner pro to overclock and underclock, etc. Also it has the option to let you control what apps start when you first boot up your phone. Task killers are different. I would not ever recommended using one.
