Google chrome - Vibrant Themes and Apps

This might be an interest to a few people....

Here is the apk link http://www.mediafire.com/?2dgkp3kchxdukil for non US

I'm not sure if its my phone specifically or the fact the Vibrant doesn't run ICS natively, but Chrome force closes on every attempt to open it. I've cleared app data, wiped davlik, rebooted and still no avail.
Anyone else have these problems? Any known cause why this is force closing?

FCs and buggy on vibrant turk rom. Going to have to reboot and see.

On passion v12. Smooth as butter.

This kind of sucks, but they said previously they were done developing for mobile.

Passion V12 as well. Only thing that comes to mind with why it isn't working is that I have Google 2-Step verification enabled and there may be bugs with that. Going to turn 2-Step off to help rule that out.

Have the same setup. Please let us know

i had issues with 2-step verification as well on this device and my nook. i turned it off. its more trouble than its worth. i'm not stashing nuclear launch codes or my bank account number in my email anyway. plus i keep my passwords pretty convoluted anyway

I flashed over to ICSSGS ROM last night so can't give a clear answer if 2-Step verification was causing the crashes or not on Passion. FWIW, Chrome Beta works fine on this ROM with 2-Step enabled.

flash on chrome
@meamgood
It's definitely annoying not to have flash on such an anticipated Google release, but most developers I talk to seem to agree that we should all just let Flash die off.

RIP Flash.

Thats what you think. There are a lot of webs with Flash. They do not want to spend money and time to implement HTML5.

I agree with what others have said, which is that you probably have a bad download. Unfortunately, the developer had to pull his three versions of the calculators due to "licensing" issues with TI. http://twitter.com/supware/status/43803417298214912

[Q] Market on Cherryblur 0.5d

i did a restore of some of my apps and data but when i look at the market it only shows youtube and google maps as my installed apps is there a fix or is this a known issue?
I had this problem too. Some say just download apps and uninstall them plus maby a reboot, your apps will come back eventually. Dont worry about it.
I also installed the new update to the Market from the apk and that made my apps show up.
The new leaked Market update is causing data connection loss for lots of people. Works fine on WiFi, but on 3G/4G you lose data as soon as you start it. Most people have, like me, reverted to the old version until it is fixed.
Well I had the leaked one on gingerblur and all was fine but no big deal

Strange SMS/MMS issue

I'm currently running the 8/26 MIUI with the newest ML Glitch kernel with EC09 modem. I can receive and send any form of messages to any Android phone, but for some reason, I have problems receiving video messages from any of the Casio G'z One phones. And one I can't receive regular texts but I can get pictures, but no video. I get com.android.phone. force closes when the messages see sent to me. If anyone has any ideas I appreciate the help. And I'm not new so I've tried many tricks, this one has me stumped. Thanks all

So i'm assuming you've tried running a fix permission in both terminal, and recovery? Also i'm assuming you tried wiping and re flashing both rom and kernel right?
Edit: also i'm assuming that you did not restore any system apps/data from titanium backup or a similar program? Right?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Oh yeah. I run all the common fixes. It actually does the same thing on VGB, all the versions. It doesn't seem to be specific to MIUI, because I've had this issue since I've gone MTD. Stock kernels do the same thing, I'm lost here. I've been following every fascinate developer since I've had it (a little over a year) so flashing and fixing is fun to me. I love tracking down and fixing problems. This is my first post on XDA ever. I usually am able to hunt down fixes. Thanks for hitting me back man. I'm gonna get it, this problem won't win.

Just to confirm, I have the same issue.
So does this guy:
[ROM] Samsung FascinateMTD 1.8.5 - Page 12 - MIUI.us
EDIT: I went all the way back to Miui 1.7.22, and the v11 glitch kernel. No FC and overall more stable so far. I can even send long SMS (160+ characters) without crashing.
When the new build gets uploaded, I'll be testing.
I still have that build too, I'll give that one a go again. I'm testing 9/2 as we speak. Soon as my bro hits me back I'll know something.

Same problem still there. I got a thumbnail of the video, but no video. And it force closed as it was coming through.

Google Now on Stock Rom.

Alright, following This Guide I got Google now working.
To summarize what I did
1. Root phone using the Korean Root method
2. I unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM using Project FreeGee
3. I booted into CWM and installed This zip.At the I was writing this guide, I freegee was on version 0.5
4. My phone restarted and froze up about twice before finally staying booted. It seems to have normalized now.
edit:Right now most things seem to work.
If anyone finds a better version of Google now, please let me know and post the how-to.
I didn't make the zips and all I have done is follow the instructions and write down my personal experience. I give full credit to the author of the original post for their instructions/work they did. However, since the LGOG doesn't need project Butter, Google Now is the main thing we are missing from 4.1 and it should help ease the wait for a stable AOSP ROM. If anyone has any issues let me know and I'll make a list.

THis is great news. Right now I'm pondering whether to get this phone or the Note II, and Google now (which I have on my Captivate running SlimBean 3.0) is the one thing I really cannot imagine giving up.
Question: when you say that Calendar/settings alamrs don't work, do you mean that they don't work at all, or that they don't show up in Google Now?
I was referring to not working in Google now. Although i did manage to set an alarm with it shortly after this post.
Also fwiw I had the captivate too. I try to stick with nexus hardware.

OK, I can't get it to launch links for me after searching. Anyone else? I'm wondering if it's because I removed Chrome and the LG browser?
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk 2
Edit: Works most of the time but I also have issues launching links. I still have chrome and the stock browser installed, it will launch them I just have to click on them multiple times. I'm also occasionally having issues exiting to the home screen using either the home button or the back button.
Links can be a little stubborn for me but, usually open.

Titanium backup.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Uninstall stock voice search with titanium backup or you will get problems with android keyboard. It makes it try use them both for voice typing. I'd assume it may be the cause of any and all problems.
Edit: scratch that... Since installing Google now I get all kinds of freezing reboots. Caca. Then again it just be saying f u to nova launcher. Clearing cashes fixes it until it happens again.
Has anyone had good luck with this?

working for me too, aside from the link clicking issues
One of the cards says there's an update available in the Play Store. When I go there it says my device is incompatible. Is there something we could tweak to the build.prop in order to get this update? Or will that mess things up due to the nature of how it was installed?

Unfortunately, Browser has stopped

Good day folks. I am running latest jelly bam 6.7 rom which I understand is no longer linked with XDA. However, out of the blue, I am getting error message "Unfortunately, Browser has stopped" each time I try to use the native browser. My Firefox browser works just fine. Is there a workaround to fix the browser. I used the forum search but I couldn't quite find a fix for my issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Reboot to recovery and wipe cache and delvic cache. This will force apps to reimplement. Let us know if that works. Had a similar problem and this worked for me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I didn't work. The browser still force closed so I was forced to dirty flash and that fixed it but i had to restore everything which was a major pain. Not sure what caused it so I'm concerned it could happen again. Thanks for the reply!
