Hi all,
As above, my phone kept restarting and sd card always showed removed.
How to solve this? I'm on v10a and rooted version.
Get an SD card of a higher class like class 6 or 10. The problem will subside.
its a common problem. I solved it by moving all apps to phone memory.

That's partially correct.... Class 6 cards may solve your problem but not Class 10. Class 10 cards are not meant for Mobile Phones, they are for DigiCams. Getting a Class 10 card can actually slow down your phone for it's read-write simultaneous is not fast. As required by DigiCams, the Write speed is high. Get a Class 6 card which is much better.
Okie, will try changing to a class 6 sd card.
Will updating my firmware to v10e or f help?
Or rather can my rooted v10a update firmware?
I agree, also copy your data, and format the SD card from the device. Should help !
formatting the card from phone does not help. I did it many times and the phone still reboots. class 4 8gb san disk.

Which kernel is this? Does it definitely fix the SD removed bug?
I don't think any of the new firmwares solve that prob. Cos it didn't help me at all. Getting a new class 4 solved the prob. I then upgraded to a class 6 with no prob. Not even a single time of unmount

I solved it by buying a class 2 sd card (found out it's pretty hard to get a class 6 sd card in Brazil)

WHat is the size of the sd card?
It seems some of the latest LG firmwares solve the SD unmount issue. In my case, installing LOL 1.4.2 which includes latest LG fixes did solve my SD unmounts. Same happened to some other people.

This phone must have been imported from countries like US or UK, just try find that there is any sign of operator name like At&t, t-Mobile or Orange etc., in the phone box, you can find it. If you find that only you can update your phone.

Sim card? if you're referring to your network you'll still be able to use it after any of these updates.it wont lock the network.it will only lock the bootloader.
If you want to do it through the SD card method remember that you'll first have to update your phone to a newer version of froyo and then update once more to gingerbread. the automated version will save you the hassle.
And btw your warranty is a sellers warranty not manufacturers warranty.so i suggest you unlock the bootloader and install a custom rom, as it wont affect your warranty status.

I think there is some confusion and i am to be blamed...i have an AT&T phone, not sure if the bootloader is locked or not...I am in India and am using a GSM SIM card here. Now the phone is Froyo...i want a Gingerbread upgrade. I have discovered two ways, through Wifi and through the SD card...
I currently don't have Wifi...so am planning to go ahead with the SD card method.
+ my fear, if i update it through the wifi, my Network may get blocked again. Here was my actual conusion...but I think i will wait for a while...I am using a Froyo 2.2.2 currently...what is the next version until i get on board the Gingerbread??
Thanx again...

Hi all,
Not a major issue, but I have noticed every time I flash a new kernel Siyah or NEAK and then reboot I get a SIM not found type message and no service icon!
If I pull the battery and SIM out then restart all is well! Is this normal?
I am running FOXHOUND PsychoMantis V2
Cheers,

How old is your sim card, if it more then 3 years, you may need to update it to a newer version which will work with new firmware.

I am not aware of a way to flash ROM without losing data, but you will not lose what is on the sd card, only internal memory.
There are many applications you can use to backup look at google store.
If you backup with PCC it would not restore on older version if you downgrade.
JB is pretty good, you can try first to repair your phone with PCC, I think you will lose data too, same as installing ICS.
I have installed ICS 6.1.1.b.1.75 generic world and it was good, 8MP camera flash problem fixed.

I don't know where contacts are stored but I lost them every time I flashed. They are very easy to backup though, any backup app will do it.
As I have said before I suggest you try to repair your phone with PC Companion forst amd if that does not solve your problem look for the latest firmware, there are a few you can download, and flash with flashtool.
You can make a backup of your contacts on your external sd card(using export to card option), after that don't worry about losing contacts. And after flashing old firmware/repairing you just have to import the contacts.

Hi there,
First of all I want you guys to know that I am not really experienced. My English is not my main language so please forgive me for grammar mistakes.
Okay, so this is a long story but I will try to summarize it clearly. First I wanted to update the firmware but failed, so I got my phone bricked. Then I have managed to un-brick it and also put a new stock ROM on it. Everything worked fine except it didn't recognize the SIM card. Then I got frightened and since I am not experienced and didn't really know what I was doing (and I didn't want to cause more harm) I brought my phone to a local service where they fixed it by rooting it and putting back the old 2.3.5 gingerbread version (which was on the phone originally). Now it was recognizing the SIM card and everything was fine. But I really wanted a new firmware and I tried to update it from the phone with OTA updates. Everything went fine and it updated the phone to Jelly bean 4.1.2 but again, it is not recognising the SIM card.
So long story short: I have a rooted galaxy s2 GT-I9100 (unlocked), and after firmware update to 4.1.2 it is not recognising my SIM card. It can't be a hardware issue because it is working with the older firmware version. I have even got a new SIM card becuase the previous one was really old but it didn't help.
I was thinking maybe I should try to install a newer version ROM. I would really like to use Jelly bean and I don't want to go back to gingerbread only if there is no other option...
So what do you think? What should I do to fix this issue?
Thanks for help!

Hey friend norbi. I have a same problem please share link 4.2.2 please.
Hello everyone.
I will donate £20 to anyone that can find out what the issue is with my phone.
Here is the story!!
As soon as I got my Z Ultra I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the handset. I ran a couple of custom roms and a custom kernel. I then decided to sell the phone to my local CEX, but they wouldn't take it because it was rooted.
So when I got home I flashed a stock FTF through flashtool and now the phone will not find any sim card inserted. It took any Sim before I flashed the stock ftf.
I have tried different FTF versions and i'm getting the same thing. Does anyone know what has caused this or how to fix it? I will donate £20 to anyone that finds the answer.
PLEASE, PLEASE HELP.
Thank You.
Adam

Ok so I downgraded and rerooted. I then tried flashing the baseband in that link and i'm still getting "Please insert sim and restart the phone"

So i'm now currently rooted running 4.2.2 on 14.3.A.0.757
I just don't understand how flashing software can be causing this problem

Lol. Yes. Thank you for your helpful suggestion
Sounds like it's the sim tray make sure inserted properly and not using any other sim adapters.Did you force the sim accidentally maybe that damaged the pins? If that fails try and flash it via sony companion software.Maybe just maybe the guy at cex I know they test them maybe he forced the sim and bent the pins whilst testing did it stop working after you had it back from them? If yes I would knock on their door.Hope you get it sorted
