has anyone been able to play full hd 1080p videos on this devices, a could only get an aswome resolution but on 720p
I don't think they can handle 1080P videos, have tried some but the video playing was slow and laggy.
Does anyone know why the youtube android app does not play videos in good quality while the web browser with flash 11.1 plays video in excellent quality even though both youtube videos are put to HD settings. The picture quality from the web browser is obviously much better then the youtube application.
Which ROM are you using?

Hey guys,
So I have a 7510 (Wi-Fi only) with DaAwesome1's vanilla Honeycomb on it. I love watching videos on it, however my problem is that where I live, the fastest internet I can get is 1.5mbps. Therefore watching youtube videos at anything higher than 480p just simply isn't possible without letting it sit paused for a while to buffer.
When using the Youtube app on the Galaxy Tab, a video in "HD" just can't load fast enough for me to watch. It seems as though the video might be loading at 720p, therefore with my internet it keeps stopping. And without HD enabled, the video quality is so horrendous it just isn't watchable.
So my question, is there any way to edit a file that will force the Youtube app to use 360p or 480p with the HD option? The app itself does not have any setting to specifically pick which quality.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Can anyone help me out here?
Why not just use the website?
Well the website doesn't format the video that great in the browser. And also, when playing through the website, the video is a little laggy.
I've always experienced stuttering HD video playback on all my devices. I've used dice player and Mx player. The hardware and software acceleration used with my gnex, never could I get HD video to play stutter free. Hoping for some better results with the GS3.

I've have watched a few 720p videos in the stock video player stutter-free. I even tried the pip feature, and the phone wasn't lagging when changing homescreens while the video was playing in a floating window on top. I have also streamed some hd movies in the plex app without any stuttering.
Playing 720p stutter free works on my 2 year old vibrant too. I guess you should check 1080p high profile videos with high bitrate video and audio. Also i wonder how sg3 handles multi channel audio formats like AAC, AC3, DTS etc
Sadly Snapdragon GS3 , doesn't handle HD videos to well , worse then my GS2 , specifically 60fps HD videos , it skips and stutters horribly ,my old International GS2 plays them smoothly. Kinda bumped about it , im guessing Samsung SOC has beefier hardware decoder.
But, if all your 720,1080p videos are only 23~30 fps you will be fine.
When I get it I'll mess around with encoding some videos to play well with it. If anyone finds a sweet spot with encoding videos with handbrake post some details please. Thanks.

Sorry if this ends up as off-topic, but I'm trying to find a good video player that supports 4k playback. I've recorded quite several 4k videos on my s5 of beach scenery. I have a windows 8.1 laptop. VLC is choppy as f*ck. Windows media player plays the video super slow and lets the audio get out of sync. The Video app can't even start it. So just asking what video playing software can i get that supports the 4k resolution vids?
Powerdvd and windvd for PC play any vidro and 4k too.
I dont no for andtoid

If vlc is choppy your laptop GPU might not be strong enough. Laptop GPUs are known for their power
