Maybe his hand is covering the speaker which is located at the back.

No m8 we test it with the back cover off...we tested a million ways...in some other forum they told me that they low volume problem will be fixed in some newer fw update!!
Well seeing he just bought it, can't he exchange it? I personally have a Lumia 710 and it plays music pretty decently as long as I don't cover the speaker.
The sound isn't so loud. You'll have to get used to it, at least for now

Hi!
Is it normal for the unibody on the Nokia Lumia 920 to creak and klick when using it? It doesent take much pressure to make it do creaking sounds. A bit annoying and really bad for the quality feeling when holding it.
No it is not a standard.
My black Lumia is solid as a rock. No creaking at all. I would contact Nokia or your provider for a replacement.

it's a common defect.. get your phone replaced
Hi guys.
when i am on a landscape mode only, a big square appears every 2-10 seconds on the left upper side of the device (left to the LG logo)...
is it a software or a hardware issue?
Thanks!
Same issue here. No clue.

anyone else have this issue?
that's really strange.
I too am having the issue. Will probably use this to justify trading for another phone within my 45 day Best Buy silver premier return window. I like the phone but this issue and how my phone just shuts offs needing me to hold the power button to reset twice a week is getting annoying. I also noticed the back is easily scratched. Always run my screens naked and never had a scratch since my Diamond Touch so figured the back would fare as well as screens. Picked up three noticeable scratches on back within a week.

Is there a reason for these phones turning off like that? It happens to me a bit too, and I have to hold the power button for a bit to get it to restart.
@OP: No, I do not notice this issue. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right area though..
I think it may be related to heat. The area on mine sort of stretches and distorts the image in a nice rectangular area. If you look at the teardown, it is where the ram is located along with processor underneath. Since it happens to everyone in the same spot, I doubt it's a defect in the screen but a symptom of the heat. Can't be a harbinger of good things.

Is it me or is the motor not very strong. I have the vibrate key press on and I can barely feel anything. Also today I had it on vibrate and I could not feel my phone ring. Am I the only one that thinks this?

Swiftkey lets you set the heptic levels and it does get pretty strong ..the ringtone vibrate is set pretty low in comparison
I have this same issue. It's because HTC in it's infinite wisdom decided to put the vibrate motor at the top of the phone near the camera. The S3 I came from however has the motor directly behind the soft keyboard so it feels a lot stronger and natural. They also use different types of motors oscillating v. rotational in the S3 and One respectively. The oscillating motor feels a lot more sharp and crisp IMHO. Unfortunately HTC most likely used the rotational motor because it's a lot smaller in comparison.
I'm wondering if I should exchange mine or if this is normal.

My first m8 didn't.. Solid buttons but my second one ( returned due to loud static from earpiece) did..but I just ignore it..all phones will have some sort of defect due to mass production.. Ur replacement may or may not have the problem.

My power button rattled for a few days but then it completely went away after some usage.
Mine has a little give on the sides, but I don't consider it a problem, especially with a case on. I have been hearing some slight static from the speakers though, mentioned by someone above. I can only hear it if I press it against my hear during calls though so I'm not worried
Mine does but when it's in a case (Diztronic TPU) no rattle!
My S5's camera lens rattles worse!
No worries, I don't think the buttons are going to fall out!
I'd rather they be a little loose than so tight they stick! Imagine that!
My first M8's volume was horribly loose, so I exchanged it and my second one's is better but now the power button is horribly loose and the sd card slot sticks out.... hard to get a perfect one

My buttons are pretty tight. I've seen many reviewers say their devices volume buttons are rocky
