I have a HTC HD2..
I had sync'd my contacts wid FB months back. Due to some issues i lost my contacts on the phone. I got em back and after which i tried to sync it wid FB again.
Now, d prob is all that d info gets syncd wid FB except the photos. I dn knw y is dis happennin..Previously i hd all d photos frm FB aftr sync.
Ne help reg dis is welcome..,thnx in advance...
I have the same issue for about 2 weeks now. Looks like Facebook has done something?
I had my contacts updating their profile photos automatically. Now they don't update, I can't even look into my friends' Facebook albums. Nothing downloads, I only get crossed circles instead of photos.
I did a hard reset, I still have my stock rom (!), thinking I really messed something up. After hard, I'm still having the same issue.
I called HTC and told them what was going on, and the representative said that it looks like I've done everything possible, and it might indeed be something on Facebook's end. They were so kind to tell me that WM6.5 is dead anyway, I can switch to Android or WP7. Eh, thanks, not yet.
Dude...I figured out the problem myself.... I had changed the password fr my FB account recently...Do one thing, Log out of FB accounts from ur accounts manager and re-login again...and sync again...
FB Photos and every data wil come up...

So This is Quite Odd....Not Only Is FB not synching but i have to go one by one in Contacts----> history..and then select ah friend and then add friend and THEN and ONLY THEN is the contact synced but.....here is the confusing part in History when i hit Menu and selct "View by" and check off Facebook....i see NOTHING.... but......wen i select Myspace it shows all the Facebook history... and when i check off Myspace only my FB history shows i am Thoroughly Confused
have you tried removing the account and adding it again? that help me before..
yea i tried that....Nothing has seemed to work for me...the adding one by one thing is the ONLY way that seems to work for me but "get friends" nothing seems to work at all
this might ba stupid question but simples thing are always missed.. have you configure your facebook to sync contacts?
go to your apps.. select Account and Sync.. select the facebook acount and see if you have sync contacts check..
I also heard that FB was total shutdown for four hours yesterday.. this might cause the problem to..
Not trying to hijack this thread but i too have a question regarding FB...
Anyone know of a way to have more than one FB account on their phone?
One of my contacts does not display his name, just his phone number when in txt messages. I can't for the life of me figure out why?
He is linked up to fb and fb for htc sense and the details for him in the phone contact are all there.
Another contact shows the name but has M after the name, possibly where i may have had the m in that field for 'mobile' but the contact itself doesn't have it, i've synced with outlook and looked at the contact on that and the m is no where to be seen!! it's not from the sim either becuase this is a brand new sim.
I'm not impressed with the fb sync with this phone, its ****e, half of my contacts don't display pics of fb and they are defo synced both with fb and fb for htc sense
it's all a bit ****, which is a shame as i'm really happy with the phone
any ideas?
have you tried deleting both errored contacts entirely, (clear cache if you're rooted) and re-entering them?

Well, that was my next plan of action. I'm not rooted, any way of clearing cache if not?
ive just noticed another with the m, where the hell is it picking that info up from, it's simply not in the contact details grrrr
hang on, they have all got it, its to show its a mobile number?? have you not got that?
Okey so I have a new atrix I got 5 days ago from the warranty center. Its running the gingerbread 2.3.4. My problem here is that my facebook doesnt sync into my contacts ( I only see contacts from other accounts ) It also doesnt sync with my gallery ( when I go to my gallery homepage its suppose to show the pics uploaded by my friends on facebook ) I have tried turning the device on and off / Removing the battery / Resetting my phone to factory setting (X4) / Making a new MotoBlur account / Also took the phone back to the warranty center and I tried it on a new phone and still no results. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

As far as I know, Google disabled the syncing of Facebook pics to contacts because their tiff about private data.

Right I read the same thing. I also heard that Google told fb they would have to write the code (for pic syncing) into their own app just like everyone else has to do. No more free ride for facebook now that Google has a competitor. Hopefully fb does add the feature into their app in the future.
I have one friend from Facebook that just won't sync with my phone. I have removed her, added her back, resynced and nothing. I have restored my device twice, and still nothing. I have removed Facebook from my phone, I have done everything that I can think of. I have used two programs (SyncMyPix + HeartofAngel), but her profile just won't show up in either program to sync to my phone.
All of my fb friends are linked according to their Google contacts in my address book. The contact in question is linked. HTC suggested I sign out of fb, clear everything under Facebook in applications, reboot the phone, then sign back in. However, HTC sense doesn't always sync. So I use a program from heartofangel.com and an app on my phone called SyncMyPics. When I launch and sync using that latter on my phone, everyone syncs, except for this particular fb friend. When I look at the results, she's not even listed in those results. When I use the Google contacts program from heartofangel.com, every fb friend populates. When I scroll down to hers, she's there, when given the option to re-link her Google contact to facebook contact, it doesn't appear she's a friend of mine on Facebook. I've removed the Google contacts and syncmypics apps on Facebook, then relaunched the apps, then allowed permission again. Nothing works. Does this make any sense?
She is definitely a friend of mine on fb. She has not unfriended me. She shares her email on fb, but not her phone #. She's showing up as Google and Facebook (linked together) in my address book. It's just with other syncing apps/programs, she's not showing up with those. It's the weirdest thing.
What on earth could this be? Any ideas?
I think its a Facebook problem, I've been having this problem with my cousins Facebook page since i had a samsung vibrant, i've since then gave up, i never found a resolution

I am beginning to wonder that myself. I have 391 friends on FB, but only 388 are syncing with my phone. I guess I am a little anal about that. LOL! I want them all to sync over. I am posting my problem on here to the "google contacts sync" forum and see if the owner has a suggestion.
I had similar problems when I first set up my Amaze with my wife's profile. Don't remember exactly what fixed it, but I think it was after the third or fourth time I cleared data and caches in both the Facebook app, and the Facebook for HTC Sense app, and sense then everyone is syncing fine. Maybe it had to do with the order I cleared them, I'm afraid I just don't remember.
I have found a solution but you won't like it...it took me a while to figure this out...so basically if you set up your google account before your facebook, facebook will not sync correctly....since android 2.x won't let us delete the current google account (ICS will allow this), you have to reset to factory settings, then setup your facebook account DO NOT SETUP google when prompted in the start wizard. wait an hour or so until all pics and things are downloaded and everything is synced up...then go ahead and setup google account so you can use the market, but make sure you are not syncing google contacts yet, update the facebook app through the market, (this way you will get high quality pics from facebook, if you have an older facebook app on your rom, you will get lower quality pics until you update to the new facebook app), finally you can sync your google contacts etc after about an hour or so (if you have sense) you will get a bunch of matched or linked contacts showing up ....this should help...

WOW! Now THAT was some good advice. I am going to do that here now and see what happens. I have installed Friendster, and this one FB friend STILL doesn't show up in that app either. I am wondering if this has something to do with the FB API. I have 391 friends on FB, but only 388 are syncing to my phone. It won't hurt to do a factory reset.

I did exactly what you suggested. I actually have 389 FB friends and all 389 FB friends are now downloaded to my phone. However, I am getting some with their profile picture and some without. See attachment. I have cleared the data from both FB and FB for HTC SENSE now 3 times. But not all of the profile pictures are downloading. Perhaps I need to go ahead and sign in to my gmail account and download the newest FB app, then resync? Any suggestions would be awesome!

wait for all the pictures to download give it some time a couple of hours...then if not all are downloaded sign into the market and get the latest facebook app...when you're signing into market, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE NOT SYNCING CONTACTS ITS GOING TO START TO SYNC RIGHT AWAY, STOP IT IMMEDIATELY. AND MAKE SURE AUTO SYNC IS OFF. once you downloaded the new facebook app, simply sync again. and if this doesn't work, delete the facebook account under sync (not the app itself) and add the facbook for htc sync again...this should do it.
And the picture quality is also.very very low..
When I call some1 is see only pixels.

thats because facbeooks native app uses 96 x 96 pics, don't even download facebook app, use the facbook for sense app, under sync section to sync the contacts and pics first, it'll give you much higher quality...unless you're running NRGZ rom, he has replaced the original Facebook for Sense app with the stock facebook, in which case you have to push an apk from another rom to your phone and resync. check out nrgz threads, someone just told me to do this recently.
Hey guys well i am having problem with my galaxy s3 after the 2nd update.
The problem is that whenever i receive a call the cell rings but the screen remains black .. So i touch the unlock bottom unlock the screen ...... And after the screen gets unlocked it shows a messgae

and the call cuts by itself and it also doesnt shows in the call log to cheak whoz call was that ...
I factory reseted the device twice ..... One time i didnt installed anything on the device ... To cheak wheather it is a app who is responsible for this problem but nothing still it was showing that problem

you mean my android version well ofcourse it is 4.0.4
and if you are asking for rom or smething or some1 is going to ask it later ... i have not installed any rom on it .. its the custom one ..

Hi I had the same problem, the fix for me was to stop syncing contacts with Facebook or any other 3 party app, I only sync my contacts with Gmail and Exhange servers. Once all the links with Facebook and some other 3 party app I had was gone from my contacts list all was well.

well thanks man but still i have the same problem ......... and does your ui craches ofter ...
because after the update my ui crashes sometimes ... and calling problem is there always ....
man i regret buying galaxy s3 i should have waited for iphone 5 ...

No my UI dosent crash, so maybe its another problem you got. My Firmware version is IMM76D.I9300XXBLFB. I have done the update no trouble there for me.
But i had to stop syncing contacts with everything else then google contacts I had to manual go in my contacts list and de-link everything so all my contacts was only on google account. No cross-linkling in any of my contacts, and no PhotoSynk from Facebook of any sort.
I couldent wait for the Iphone 5, had a 4. Let´s hope it will work out for us Appel defecters
Mine keeps freezing up while surfing the net and the window says "unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped working" then I hit the ok button and then it goes back to normal. But the annoying freeze-ups keep happening on a frequent basis. And, I just took one back for doing the same thing!:silly:

it happens when my wife calls me, when i call my wife. i guess the reason might be because i linked her to facebook, linkedIN and 2 google accounts.
happened only since todays android/samsung firmware update.
have now unlinked her facebook and linkedIN and will see if that helps
I had this problem too and my solution was to take off all syncs from contacts and more importantly: remove birthdays from contacts!

Same here. The process crashes when recieving a call from a friend. Tried removing some contact info. Just got to wait and see I guess.
I got the same problem when i updated Facebook contact sync app, it now sync pictures in 720x720, and that makes this happend.
Change facebook contactpics to smaller then 720x720 and problem is gone.
I've tried a whole bunch of things and think I've narrowed it down on my S3. Note, in my case, I used TitaniumBackup to move over my apps/data from my old phone to my new, so if you haven't done that, then the info below will not be relevant to you.
First, I tried de-activating sync (FB and Google) and then actually removed the accounts. No difference.
I also wiped Davlik (No ROM + Root is what I have). No difference.
Cleared settings for the Phone. No difference.
What I realized is that I did a Titanium Backup on my old phone (HTC Evo 4G w/ CM7.2) and copied it over to my new phone. It's this restore that's hosing things. There must be a library that's copied over as part of the process that's hosing things.
I have reinstalled the app and didn't select the sync birthdays option this time.
Already received an incoming call from a facebook friend and phone didn't crashed.
Oh man, tha'ts a BIG problem! Many people with this annoying problem. I had this issue, and now I disabled status and birthday sync and changed the size of the pics to 520x520... fingers crossed!
