Install the tweaks in the thread "Tweaks for Cm6 & CM7" and install by xrecovery. Before that, make sure you have setcpu. After you install the tweak, go back into setcpu and you can raise it to 768mhz, repost your score soon =)

Hmm, nothing much I have changed, maybe because I unticked 'lock messaging in memory?' try that =p

Hmmm...what does the 'surface dithering' thingy do?It is recommended to be turned off at the 3rd post of the floyo rom.Anyways...
Floyo v4

With surface dithering on,i got 1332.Weird...

Paremeters as you said but heap size 34

Ive tried again, but now my score is out of screen lol. Lcd density is 120. Am i the only one who has this?

I would not install that because you will modify few tweaks from owain. Try the thread Overclock cm6, thats only to insmod overclock module and works fine.

Hum, tried to take a screen shot of the results but can't find a program that works without distorting the image.
1- Floyo 4.0
2- Disabled surface dithering
3- 768mhz overclocked
4 - JIT disabled
5 - VM Heap size: Whatever is default on floyo 4.0

CPU Settings

Just wanted to start a thread to see what you guys use for advanced CPU settings. Do you OC (and how much)? What governor do you use? Do you have JIT enabled? If so, what's your VM heap size? Do you use compcache? And most importantly, what differences have you noticed by trying different settings?
Right now I'm OCing to 245/710 on GSB 1.2 with no JIT or compcache and using the smartass governor, and my phone is running better than it has in a long time. I tried GSB with JIT and compcache and noticed a definite slow down.
If you're not using JIT, you're not getting any benefit that I can see of having a 2.2+ ROM. My Linpack scores go up about 50 to 75% when I turn on JIT.
Most of the time, I have the clock set at 604/245, with a screen off at 528/245. For the Froyo/GB ROMs, I always have JIT, compcache at default, vm heap at default, governor at smartass.
For Eclair ROMs (running Zanfur's kernel) I generally have the same clocks, ondemand governor, no JIT. Sometimes I set the minimum at 19.2 on Zanfur's kernel and it still seems to run fine - it tends to depend on how fast the battery burns.

I am using XTR's Cache2Cache script which helps me maximize my space seeing as I have a massive amount of apps installed (107) and my caches are very high. I'm running at around 30-34MB free space. If I didn't use Cache2Cache i'd be at 0-5MB free and i'd have all kinds of memory issues. =-) XTR rocks!
I dont get any lag, not yet at least. home screen doesn't reload either.

I've been getting that homescreen reload thing, too. I assume saving the "lock home in memory" fixes that?

[KERNEL][23/07] █░ SGSII | 2.6.35.7-MirageS2 [v5]- STOP BATT DRAIN | OC 1600mhz ░█
Firstly, I'm not responsable if you brick your phone doing overclock or a bad use of this kernel. So, be careful.
This kernel is built from a custom modified source by me (I've added and modified some things to an updated SGS2 source), I've tried to modify it to get the lowest battery drain, so this kernel should stay in a step between performance and battery, if you like some more performance you can download SetCPU, or other custom app to modify freqs and default governor.
What's included:
-For XXKG1/G2/G3 (should work with olders too)
-Modified Freq range 11 steps (200-400-500-600-800-900-1000-1200-1400-1504-1600 Mhz)
-CPU UV sysinterface (thanks to ninphetamine)
-Modified cpufreq.c to force processor to go step-by-step in freqs.
-Default Freq: 500-1200 Mhz ondemand (the best to get low batt drain, should drain lower in sleep)
-Lowest maximum freq blocked to 400mhz (so if you put 200-200, it will run 200-400, locked due to better performance)
-Available governors: interactive-smartass-conservative-userspace-powersave-ondemand-performance (custom modded smartass, ondemand and interactive governors)
-CFS Scheduler.
-SLQB Allocator.
-CFQ Block IO Scheduler (Available: no-op, deadline, cfq)
-Modified Initramfs from saturn_de (thanks to him and Chainfire) - I've added some values to this init.rc to get lower battery drain and some performance. (some different from saturn)
-CWM 4.0.0.2 Recovery
-Disabled Profiling support and debugs, added ThumbEE, Improved Control Group Support.
-Added some CFQ IO tweaks
-Changed dalvikvm heapsize to 60m (this should improve performance on tasking)
-Touchscreen fix added (thanks to vicenzo91)
*[email protected]
*[email protected]
*int:fast is not included due to performance problems.
*not compatible with tegrak OC (tested with SetCPU)
test with performance 1504mhz, vfs_cache_pressure=100 and dalvik 64m (default vfs=70, you can modify it downloading Sysctl Config from Market)
v5:
*set samsung-update1 as base (fix reboots)
*added slqb patch
*removed bfq

Soon mate, soon. Thanks
Holy shiznit, who would've thought we'd be seeing you here Neo?I gotta thank you for the first rom that made me actually love my Desire. Not the only one,but it was the first whatsoever.
I'd like to tell you a thing or two(or three ) though.
1)You should add support for SetCPU's voltage control.I know there are other apps that do the same thing, but the number of people using SetCPU is massive. And on the Galaxy S 2,undervolting is very important, especially to avoid issues with overheating.
2)Could you pleaaaase lower the max clock by only 4MHz?My phone is unstable at 1504MHz with 1350mV,while it's rock stable at 1500Mhz with 1325mV.And I'm serious,4MHz only and it makes a huge difference, while performance-wise it's the same.
3)You could also overclock the GPU.200MHz with 750mV min and 400MHz with 1100mV max seems stable for everyone. You can gain quite a lot of performance, while it doesn't heat or consume more. You can also test if what I say is true yourself.
Else that those three...Well,welcome to our world pal!The world of power!
I don't know what you did to get 5000 in productivity on smartbench11 cos I can't hit more than 4300 even with the vfs setting changed...and yes I am overclocked to 1.5ghz and locked there.

Is auto brightness broken ? The brightness goes to 100% on autobrightness eventhough it is night and there is no light
Tried wiping dalvik cache but did not help
EDIT: Covering the light sensors with a black blanket did not change anything. So there seems to be a problem with auto brightness. I am on stock KG1 leaked rom

what are the tweaks apps and settings that improves cm7?

any suggestions?
many feedbacks now are annoyed with getting low ram..
resulting lower performance of cm7...
hehe..thanks..
low ram=faster app lauching. that is good
huh?
im having about 70mb free ram..
it goes robotic..haha
What are you running on you ace?
Get the V6 supercharger script by zepplin of course
Set CPU min and max to 800 Mhz
Also set CPU gov to 'performance'
Actually default settings are good enough
My settings: V6Supercharged, compache disabled, JIT enabled, surface dithering disabled, purguing of assets enabled, VM heap size 48m

best app for cpu setting

i am on mean rom GB v45 + anthrax kernel included in it.The problem is when i play 3D game it run on 1.5 ghz and make my phone overheat even with simple 3D game like paper monster so i want downlclock it
using set cpu latest version(2.0.3.2 and 3.0.7 version)wth max 1.2 ghz and min 194 mhz but i see in widget it back to max 1.5 ghz sometimes
using system tuner pro, but it make my phone restart maybe there's conflict with the rom
using cpu antutu master pro , i cant adjust voltage but successly adjust the min and max clock speed eventough the min clock speed always going up same as max clock speed in antutu setting . Installing system tuner pro after adjusting antutu master and the cpu clock is the same as my setting on antutu cpu master pro.
if you have any experiece please share
thanx

First of all, the kernel in MeanROM GB 4.5 is a dodava kernel. The settings for OC/UV are controlled by parameters in the postboot script, not with apps like SetCPU and System Tuner. If you try to set them with those apps, they will be reset when the phone goes to sleep and wakes up again. There are some instructions for setting up the parameters in this post within the MeanROM GB thread, and the script has more information in the comments.
This post by mpgrimm2 is a good guide to setting up the postboot script parameters, including some recommended values. You might be better off posting further questions in the MeanROM GB thread if they are related to that ROM because there are still a lot of people using it that monitor the thread.

[Q] Can't overclock Streak with Longhorn 2.9.3 Updated 9-5-12

I read that overclocking is enabled in Longhorn 2.9.3 and people did it but I tried few free and paid apps and none of them goes past 998Mhz.
What am I missing?
Odd. I run CM7, which Longhorn is based off. I use the free version of SetCPU available for download on XDA. It works perfectly with the latest kernel from _n0p_ and with superuser permissions granted to it. In the case of SetCPU, you have to set the maximum and minimum speeds first, then set up some profiles and tell SetCPU to apply those profiles on boot. For example, I have my Streak overclocked as follows:
Max: 1.19GHz
Min: 245MHz
I then have profiles set in SetCPU whereby the Max speed is reduced as the battery drains. I drop the maximum speeds as follows:
<66%: 768MHz
<33%: 576MHz
The other two profiles I use are Charging (1.19GHz) and Screen Off (384MHz). I find with the screen off setting that the SetCPU widget doesn't always update properly, but that's not a major issue to me. The battery life is more important.

will overclock really help much? i use MIUI, nothing surprised when i set setCPU to max. So i choose to stick at 988, its give me great respond from the devices and fair battery. Maybe if you want to improve your device, you can try some tweaks, likes disable cpu rendering, edit build.prop, or something else. Good Luck.

if you guys dont realize it yet.. longhorn 2.9.3 uses a custom kernel called balanced kernel... overclocked is missing because it is a feature for that kernel for stability wise...
longhorn below 2.9.3 uses kernel usually from phoenix and that is why overclock is present...
Actually, frequency table (as i can judge from github sources) is wrong and 998400 in LH is actually 1152000.
Real 998400 in this kernel is 921600.
So you have your overclock

You are right. Last evening I installed Phoenix kernel from add-on section (for CyanogenMod 7.2, not the universal one) and now I'm running on 1.267GHz. Didn't try 1.344GHz yet.
That kernel fixed my GPS issue too.
