Have you updated? The update addresses issues with the fingerprint scanner.
yes, i have updated to 1.57 rooted GladAtrix 2 v4.2.3...
what should i do then?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Mine did that to me a few times before I updated, but since the update it has worked perfectly. Did you try deactivating it and set it up again? I know WidgetLocker can use the fingerprint scanner, I dont know if you want to try that but it might be an option..
but I can't even stup the fingerprint scanner t scan...in the Location & security settngs...
is my fingerprint scanner broken??? or should I reload the stock rom to see if itis becuse of the GladiAtrix2 v4.2.3???
You cant set up the fingerprint scanner? Huh that sucks. What kind of error does it give you if any? You might want to sbf and see if it works again on stock.
I seem to have that problem at times. Restarting the phone seems to do the trick

It doesn't even response at all at the setup and no error, it just likes the scanner isn't there...
I will try to flash back to the stock rom and see if it will still work

I have tried that, but it doesn't work for me...
It happened to me twice in the last 7 days that I have had my Atrix, both times when I turned it back on in the morning (I have it off at night).
I had to take the battery out and then start all over again just power cycling didn't work.
I am hoping it doesn't happen too often, the device is perfect and all customized and I don't want to start all over again including un rooting this one.
just flash back to 1.26, but still not working not responding...
going to update to 1.57 and see if it will work...not I think it is broken...
Happened to me this morning after a power up. Restarted it again, some 'suite' process force closed on the lock screen, and it's been okay since.
edit: this was on 1.5.7 stock
I guess I can confirm that my fingerprint scanner is dead...
so I guess I have a reason to get a LG one now... this one will go to my girlfriend...
or... is there a screen lock for Atrix 4G which slide down to unlock (like HTC one) instead of sliding right to left

Problem is when I apply a new Rom everything works fine for about one week. Then I start getting this issue if i go to settings or messaging I can't back out. I have to do a battery pull. Search back menu home. When i touch those options nothing happens. Kinda like its froze up. Power option works too to reboot the phone and everything works fine for another week then starts up again. Not sure if its a hardware issue or not. Haven't tried going back to stock. Has anybody had this issue. Would appreciate any help.

Are you using a 3rd party app for messages or a theme or launcher? What rom you on?
no real weird i have tried multiple roms does the same thing on all of them. did not start having this issue until that last ota update, i relocked my phone unrooted etc. then updated to that last ota, waited for some devs to come out with roms based on that ota, then unlocked again and rooted and applied viper rom it happened on that rom, tried scotts clean rom same thing and a few others i get the same thing after about a weeks of use i start getting the freezing thing where i cant back out of certain things, like if i go to setting mms etc. pretty much anythaing i go into i cant back out or the search or home menu and menu does not work when i touch it, only way i can get out is power button reboot or just battery pull, then everything is back to normal for a week, im thinking its a hardware issue but not sure. i guess im going to try to relock unroot again and see if i get the same issue, if i do wouldnt you think its a hardware issue ? And i am not using any special launchers just what comes with the rom.
[Q] Stuck at Lockscreen: "UI Timeout!" on finger print scannner for Neutrino ROM 2.6
Yes, I've made the mistake of turning on my fingerprint scanner for my lock screen. I've had this specific problem with the Neutrino ROMs in the past, but I overlooked it this time because I mistakenly thought, "Hey! It's a new version! This is fresh, I shouldn't have to worry about it this time!" So undervolt my CPU almost all the way and go about my business.
Well, I was wrong. Again. I can't unlock my lock screen for the life of me, every time I swipe my finger over it, there's a moment where nothing happens and then a brief notification, "UI Timeout!" Then a counter that counts down from about 25 seconds to the regular "locked" icon.
...and that's all I get. I reswipe, I wait twenty seconds for a 'UI Timeout!' and then I do it again. I do this about a thousand times, then I reboot, and try it over and over. On previous Neutrino versions (2.2 and 2.3 to be exact), I used to luck out and have it deny me access from too many wrong tries and I would use my Google account to log in and get past the lock screen; but there's no such luck this time around. I'm stuck here at my lock screen. Forever. I really don't want to re-flash my everything and reinstall my everything (since I made it a point to do a clean reinstall this time) so if it can be avoided, please, please tell me how.
Could anyone lend a hand here? I'm really desperate to have Neutrino up and running like I used to. Gingermod 9 was a horrible experience.
Thanks!
i confirm that this also happens on cm 7.2 rc1: the fingerprint reader stops recognizing swipes, the only way to unlock the screen is rebooting the phone.

I haven't encountered this on CM 7.2 RC1 myself. Maybe there is another reason you are having this problem on that ROM. The FP reader remains the snappiest and most responsive I have yet seen through all ROM's.
Did you flash a different kernel and UV or do any other mods after flashing CM 7.2?

I flashed the official rom downloaded from cyanogenmod.com with full wipe. Now I cannot get into fingerprint settings, neither the "screen unlock fingerprint" nor the "Fingerprint sensor navigation". Tried rebooting, but it didn't work.

I did a full wipe and re-flashed CM 7.2 RC1. The fingerprint reader worked for a day without any problem. But it stopped working this morning. I will try to flash the latest nightlys.
Did you turn off adb debugging when the fp stopped working?
so i am rooted, and when i go into my settings to turn my NFC on, i check it, and it unchecks automatically. i have a sprint S3 and i tried to unroot to test it and it still wont work. i know that it worked before i rooted along with wallet, and then i rooted and wallet stopped working as well as my NFC. im not sure what to do as ive tried a different battery and it did not work either. im not sure what to do. although i know it does not ruin the phone, i want a feature that is suppose to work, to work!! thanks for any reply.
Bump? I tried to go back to full stock and that didn't work either. I rooted back and flashed a custom rom and its still a no go. And now weird things like not being able to put the ripple affect back for the lock screen. Things like that.

I cannot comment about the NFC so hopefully someone else will help. But with the ripple effect, mine was "disabled" once I change the lockscreen wallpaper to something other than a stock Sammy one. But I agree, seems like a bug.
So my GPS only works while my screen is turned off and locked.
Anybody else having the same issue?
Sadly I am on a locked boot loader and pretty sure my warranty is gone due to age of phone...
Anybody know of a fix? This issue remains persistent through flashing all ROMs nebulous, stock, etc (bootstrapped). I can't navigate at all these days BC it just will drop as soon as I turn the screen on! Then I have to turn the screen back off/lock and hope it syncs and starts telling me turn by turns again.
Uuugh frustration with a locked boot loader!

Wow that is bizzare. Never heard of that one.
Try uninstalling maps and clearing maps data via app manager and running the stock version. If that works you can let it update again and it will work.
That's how I fixed my maps issue with GPS

I did that, still busted ;(
It wont even lock on any GPS app with the screen on, I tried with TopNTP, GPS Status, etc. Screen off, locks in 1-2 seconds. Screen on...never....

Yeah...it's insanity. Killing me so badly. I'm not going to be able to sell this thing when I get my G3 now >.<
So I just woke up and went to unlock my phone and it came up saying the fingerprint scanner stopped responding and must close so it asked for my backup password, I entered it and it said it was wrong. I was 100% sure that was the password I had set but it was saying it wasn't so I tried a multitude of other ones. Then it let me finally sign in by my Google Account so I did and it says it's wrong..it isn't. I've signed in to Gmail on my computer with the same info I'm entering into the phone but the phone won't let me login!
I don't know if this has happened to anyone yet but I've now tried restarting and then shutting off and turning back on and the sensor still just won't work and none of my alternative logins are working, does anyone have any suggestions other than resetting the phone? Thanks

My phone's not rooted, everything's stock. It has a warranty but there's no stock available. It was fine until this morning, I've had it since the 9th so I just think something messed up that's software related.
