Lookout Mobile won't locate my phone, and I'm wondering if the issue is related to using JuiceDefender. Is anyone else having a similar problem? If so, are there custom settings that I could use to keep JuiceDefender from interfering?
Thanks

Ever since I installed the latest version of Google Maps my location does not get updated automatically. It would go for hours without updating my location. My location services are working fine. Both my GPS and wireless network option boxes are ticked.
Is anyone else having this problem? And does anyone have a fix for this?
sometimes happens maybe it's cause where you are located
I have an app called fast fix which kinda helped me a lot.
this is it

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. For the past couple days my time of day will be way off until I re-sync. Auto-sync is on and I am using the TOD from the carrier. Any Ideas or similar issues.

Do you have a super aggressive task killer that may be auto-killing system processes?

No I do not even have a task killer installed. It appears to occur when I do not have an active data connection. That being said I did not think the TOD depended on that type of connection, but this is my first smartphone.
if you go to Settings > Date & Time is the box selected next to "Automatic"?

Yes automatic is selected. Most of my older phones which were not smart phones did not need data connections to get the TOD.
If smart phones do need the data connection I do not understand why the phone will not free wheel correctly until it can resync with the network. It is pretty basic programming to include a free wheeling clock.
So I think I figured it out. I was using Juice Defender App to help with battery life and it was disabling the radios. Once I removed the App I have not had the issue since.
This can be closed
Glad it seems that you found the problem. I have heard that JuiceDefender disables connection when the screen is off to save battery. Hopefully this will help anyone else who ends up having similar issues.
No problem here.
Curious as to what exactly "Enable always-on mobile data" does ? Everyone says it is a major battery hog, but what does it do exactly ? And by NOT enabling it, whats it stopping ?
Thank you
I would like to know this to

If enabled, your mobile data is constantly running. If you disable it it goes into a sleep mode 5 minutes after your screen goes off. It also is in a sort of a on-demand state when disabled so it shouldn't interfere with new emails etc being pushed to your phone. I would recommend disabling as it will save your battery life significantly since we don't have root yet.

Yup, Tasker cant do this. I think it has to do with all the recent privacy issues raised by apps that automatically monitor and report your location. I am sure due to these issues Google disabled the ability to have a 3rd party app turn on GPS. Bummer because there are a lot of things you can have Tasker do with GPS.
However, I have read that leaving GPS on all the time does not impact battery, as long as there are no apps actively using it. I need to research this more.
There is zero battery drain leaving GPS on as long as there is no app actively using it.

yeah, i've tested my battery life with gps on and off. I dont notice any significant drain when its left on (and not in use).
GPS button in SwitchPro widget doesn't seem to work, either.
Thank you all for your repsonses
Secure Settings in the market will allow you to control the GPS but you must be rooted.
The tasker gps function will work on CM7 and MIUI, but doesnt on stock roms
Does anyone else experience near constant GPS search notifications? I'm rooted and running OC1. It seems like every other time I turn on my phone there is a GPS notification on the lock screen. I guess it could be caused by an app (I use a few GPS apps for running, cycling, etc) but they aren't any different than the apps I used on kitkat and I didn't have the constant GPS alerts like I do on Lollipop. Maybe Google Location History? Anyone else experience this?
Thanks.
Reviving this old thread because I am experiencing the same, hoping there's a fix out there. Rooted, running OC1 using the Muniz_ri method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-update-to-i545oc1-5-0-1-keeproot-t3096558
