No internet after installing EC01 - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Exactly what the title says, i was originally on a stock eclair cellular south rom and now after flashing in odin to the 2.2.1 rom that now shows up as verizon, and I installed EB01 rom, and then EC01 the rom and radio I get no internet. I forgot to install the radio previously and my friends were getting blank text, but after installing the radio i get no internet but my texting is fine now.

[Q] Wifi fried???

Hey guys,
2 days ago I flashed the latest Fusion 2.2 ROM and started to have wifi problem (unable to start wifi) or it would connect and immediately disconnect and all the wifi hotspot would disappeared as well. I know its not the ROM's fault cuz I've tried 4 other ROM's trying to figure out how to fix this, but since I have no skillz what so ever other then flashing roms (if you consider this a skill...lol)
Can my wifi be fried? or else???
Thanks in advance for your help!
Seems strange. You tried 2.1 ROMS as well as Froyo?

Yes, 2.1 VanillaEclair 4.0 & 5.0
Froyo, Cronos 2.2 ROM and Fusion ROM...
I've even gone back to my original 1.5 ROM and it still the same! I also flashed 3 different Radio ROM and it doesn't change anything!
Now most of the time it can't even find any wifi spots!
What about changing the radio maybe?

[Q] Changing Baseband Version (Radio)

I've been running each version of SuperClean (currently 2.7) since it was released by adrynalyne. In my limited understanding, I believe that changing a rom does not change the radio being used. My radio (baseband version) is currently listed as being DL09 (see attached). Is there a way of updating the radio and is there an advantage of doing so? If so, does anyone know where I can find the best/latest radio for the Fascinate that will work with SC? I think I read somewhere that one's choice of radio can affect GPS performance. My GPS is currently working really well. Does the radio affect battery life (currently not very good) or other things also?
You need eb16 or eb01 radio to use froyo, sc2.7. Sc2.7 is removed and 2.8 is out now. There is a all in one odin pack on andriodcentral that gives you root, cwr, and sc in one pack. 15 minutes and done.

Bob-o, not quite sure I understand this comment, since I'm running Froyo (SuperClean 2.7) just fine with my older DL09 radio. I guess I'd like to know if there's an advantage to updating the radio, or should I leave it as-is and just keep updating the rom?

The EB16 modem will not work with the VZW Fascinate. If you want to update the baseband, update to the EB01 baseband. You may get slightly better battery life, and reception will also probably change slightly, though probably not enough to really notice. To update, you need to find a tar with the modem.bin for EB01 (or whatever baseband you want) and flash it via Odin. See here for instructions on flashing.
I've heard from some users that the DL09 radio works better sometimes than the EB01 radio. Some have reported better battery life. I'm running the debloated deodexed stock EB01 with the DL09 radio and it works fine, although I'm not certain yet if there's any improvement or not.

Both DL09 and EB01 work fine with all versions of SC. There's really no reason not to flash, unless you're uncomfortable doing so (I assume this isn't the case, as you're running SC ). You might get slightly better signal or maybe better battery life. You also might get worse. You won't know until you try it.
If it doesn't work as good as DL09, no harm done, just flash it back.

[Q] ED01 community rom v1.2 help: not getting texts

I just upgraded from my old Droid Eris to a new fascinate last friday and I've been messing around with it trying out different ROMs and such and i decided to install the ED01 v1.2 rom today. I was enjoying it until i found out that i couldn't recieve texts and when i sent them all it would send was a blank text...
I've since reverted back to stock and I was wondering if anyone could help me out because I was really enjoying the rom until i realized I wasnt getting texts.
What modem did you flash when you were running UKB 1.2?
*You should be running the EC01 or the ED01 modem. You can find the ODIN file for EC01 modem in the forums. Sadly, in order to have the ED01 radio, you need to go through Adrynalyne's process of retrieving it (which you can also find in the forums).
I think I was just running the EI01 regular baseband. I didn't know that was even a factor. I'm going to try to find everything you just mentioned haha, wish me luck

actually i run into the same problem.. im on ec01 radio comm 1.2, i live in an area with poor service.. but i could usually send messages.. now if i lose service for more than 5-10 minutes.. i have to reboot phone to get them to send/recieve.. not even toggling airplane mode will bring it back.. ive tried *228 with no improvement
Ok so I reflashed a stock fully bloated 100% original rom and took the OTA update to Froyo which upgrades the modem to ED01 right? So i should be able to flash the community rom fine now without any problems right? or am i completely wrong?

It should work if you followed adrynalyne's steps to getting ED01 with ED01 radio. Good luck!

[Q] Simple Questions for Bamf 1.7 all versions

I have just rooted my Thunderbolt and I am looking to install a rom. Das Bamf looks great. I have experience flashing roms on my OG Droid. However I never had to flash any radios. What radios will work/recommended for Bamf? And Do I need to install the 1.7 first then the remix or is the remix a full rom? How do I install the custom lock screens?
You should not have to flash a radio with 1.7 it comes packaged with everything you need. Do a backup, wipe, and flash the new rom.

same you would a radio. download the zip to your sd card and install it from recovery. When i first installed BAMF, i installed the first or second radio in the radio thread. I had reboots since day one. Then i tried the 3rd radio which i think is old cdma version/new lte version, i still got reboots but not as many. i then went to GB, but went back to Froyo on the news that came out. When i went back, to Froyo, i installed the 4th radio in the thread, which i believe is old cdma version/old lte version. i have not had any reboots since i have gone back. so my recommendation would be to go with the fourth radio.
So still a little confused. If I download 1.7 from rom manager it will flash the radio for me as part of the flash rom step or I need to flash the radio first then install the rom with rom manager?
Also a little help with themes too (see above )

Radios are flashed separately through HBoot, not through recovery. The radios are also not part of the Das Bamf rom. However, the stock radio should work with Das Bamf. There's a separate radio thread here that has some combinations. Do not flash the Gingerbread radio until you read more about the subject. I'm using the second radio listed in that thread, the .7 CDMA radio with the .6 LTE radio(No reboots since I switch to that combo). The instructions for flashing a radio can be found here.
As for Das Bamf, I would recommend downloading it from the thread and loading it manually through recovery instead of going through ROM Manager. Although I've used ROM Manager successfully in the past, many people have had various problems with using it to flash ROMs.

Nothing scientific about it, I just saw someone else say that they stopped getting the random reboots after switching to that particular combo.(The theory was that they were related to the .7 LTE radio) I decided to give it a shot, and I haven't had a random reboot since switching a few weeks ago. I'd say go with that combo until you have a reason to switch to something else due to either problems or newer versions being released.
Thx for the help! If I have a problem which one is the Stock radio. I ask because my og Droid had a touch screen issue and I had to un root it. Will all the extra steps in these time and rooting procedures it is confusing. If I use the auto un root will it reinstall the stock OS and radio along with un rooting and s-on

I've had no problems on BAMF stripped 1.1 and 1.7 on both the release and newest radios.
Tried to flash BAMF 2.0.5
Flashed the first radio in the list of radio's booted back into froyo and it worked fine, flashed BAMF 2.0 Beta 5 and got alot of HTC force close. One was sync and I'm assuming another was the software that activates the phone. After getting to a WIFI, I signed into google and got to the dialer and tried *228 and it told me that I needed to install a sim card. Sim Card was installed! I freaked out and restored a recovery of the stock rom rooted and have no problem getting a signal.
1.) What did I do wrong, do I just need to install one of the other radio's?
2.) When I recover, did it also revert back to the radio that was installed when I did the backup (stock)?
I am a first time HTC flasher!! )) I had a OG that I ran Bugless Beast and many others on, a droid x that ran the gingerbread leak. Maybe I should just be happy to be rooted and on Froyo but I couldn't stay away from Gingerbread after having it on the Droid X. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Das BAMF 2.0 Beta #5 REQUIRES a Gingerbread radio, not a Froyo radio.
The banf 2.0 needs a gingerbread radio. The radio currently is causing bricks. Go back to froyo!

Excellent post. I flashed to 1.7 today through Recovery as well and haven't had any issues yet. I used Recovery for previous ROM updates also with no problems. I have not tried to flash through ROM Manager, since Recovery has worked well.
I had earlier flashed the radio, so I'm not running the stock radio. I'm running the first radio in the thread (I had 3G/4G handoff issues with the old version of the LTE radio).
Just do a nandroid backup first to be on the safe side.

1717UCLA1 is what you want. Should be available in the Modems thread in Development. Flash that in CWM and you're good to go.
Here it is: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote/modems/ATTNOTEUCLARADIO.zip
Yea I got it flashed Thanks!
Would running UCLA5 on GB cause any issues?
