Does anyone have the DNLA and task manager apk's? I got the remove bloatware function from gingerblur and would like these apps back.

run the restore bloatware zip that's on the gingerblur site and delete the apks from the ZIP that you don't want back.

[Q] Best way to uninstall Tit Backup?

I would like to remove version that its included in new Phiremod 6.3 and install some other version.
I cant do it from Applications menu.
Any help?
maybe find a free "uninstaller" app in the market and try that
Here is a link to a website you may want to bookmark for the future. Should be able to download and install with root explorer or an equivalent over the existing version, if this is what you are looking for.

You couldn't come up with a better abbreviation than "tit"?
Lol.. like TIBU lol.... use root explorer and delete the apk
Sent from one of those missing Droids
Lol... Didnt think about "TIT" before U mentioned it! xaxaxa
Anyway best way for me was to remove it with some System Uninstaller app.
And then to install newer version I had to put new apk at system/app folder, give same permissions and then reboot.
After reboot install went fine.
The most common short hand for Titanium is Ti.

[Q] Startup Managers /Startup Cleanders - of any use?

Quite a few installed, and stock, apps loads itself after boot.
In my case, stock:
Stock internet browser
Google Search
Settings
Gallery
Messages
Installed:
Titanium Backup
Script Manager
I don't use widgets from any of these and I see no reason why I should they should run, in my case.
I don't want to freeze them and wonder if Startup Manager, or any other apps is of any use or doesn't it do any good. Startup Manager is like msconfig in win7. You can tick off apps you don't want to run. But, of course, Startup Manager has to run un boot.
Any views on this?

[Q] Atrix Stock Apps

I've been testing out some custom ROMs and have noticed one thing: I no longer have some of my favorite apps that came with the phone. Apps such as the file and task manager are no longer around on my phone. Anyone know where I can go to download those stock apps?
If you are on a Blur ROM look for the "bloat ware restore" .zip in the thread of the ROM you are running. If you are on AOSP ROM you wont be able to restore bloat ware. Download apps from the Market that do the same functions, in most cases you will find there are apps in the Market that perform better. For file management Root Explorer, and for task management Watchdog.

[Q] frozen apps

Is there a list of apps that can be disabled for this phone?
Don't we need root?
Not an iPhone.....
Just go through the list, its lets you do quite a few of them in app management
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Can someone give me a list of what they froze, I think I got most of them but stuff like Music Hub, Music Player, Viewdini, VPN Client, Zappos I have no idea about
I have only removed the bloatware from one other phone (HTC incredible) and the process went like this:
1. Open root explore and go to system/app
2. Change from read/only to read/write
3. Select the apps from the system/app that I want to remove
4. Move those apps to a new folder that I named app.disabled in the system file.
Does this same process work the the Note 2?

Edit: nevermind, just used TB to freeze apps
Works well, especially as it requires only root and a good file manager [e.g. ES].. I had been dependent on tools like TB before your post. Thanks for the lesson.

Delete system/pre-installed apps on a rooted device

Hi,
I'd like to know how to safely delete system or ROM pre-installed applications that don't offer an "Uninstall" option. I am rooted and running 5.0.2 on a Nexus 6. I know I could do this with Titanium or other similar apps but my point is to not install a specific app just for deleting apps if I can find the correct path/file from Root Explorer and remove it myself.
Thanks

from my experience the best that you can do is to use root explorer and goto system/app or system/priv-app and delete folder-app you do not need, then goto data/dalvik-cache, search for apk name and delete also program *.dex, so this is a clean method, make a reboot for clearing apk data !
It's safer to rename the app instead of deleting it... "freezing" apps often just add ".fro" to the app's name (whatever.apk.fro, for example) to keep it from appearing in your app launcher or loading. If anything goes wrong because of the "missing" app, you can easily restore it.
