I can't seem to successfully upload a video (107MB) to youtube through wifi. The upload would start and after a few minutes:
- wifi would turn off completely and then turn back on
- the upload would just stop and retry
I set battery mode to performance and wifi sleep policy to never. The wireless router (WRT54GS) is about 10 ft away so signal strength is not an issue. Any ideas?
This is an issue I hope they fix in the new update. But have you made a backup and restored your phone?
Yep, I have a full backup of my phone. I'm not sure exactly how a restore would fix this problem though. I did the flash 1.26 SBF, gladroot, update to 1.57 and restore root. I may try uploading a large file using something else to see if the problem is with the youtube app or with the OS.

I seem to be having a small(or large?) issue with my Wi-Fi connectivity - after rooting my phone it didn't surprise me that I lost GPS functionality, it didn't surprise me that I never got it back but hey I can live without it if it means I don't have to wait for HTC.
What's beginning to bother me is the fact that my phone can't manage a Wi-Fi connection it could 3 days ago.
Tried restoring my 1st nandroid backup that I made immediately after I flashed the custom recovery and I still had no Wi-Fi. And no GPS.
Also I have tried flashing 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 as well as 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.08.29 with no result on either front.
Please help me out if ya can.
What ROM you using pal?
1st thing to try is to put both your GPS and WiFi on, then turn your phone off and back on again.
I'm currently trying to use SenseHero 2.2
I have tried turning on both WiFi and GPS and rebooting, I have also tried similarly - leaving them on and flashing the radio too...
It doesn't seem to be helping all too much.
Furthermore(and the part that concerns me most) I have tried restoring my initial nandroid, the 1st one I made and saved after flashing the custom recovery and still nothing.
and there's no mention of issues in the Sensehero thread no?
If I was you,....
I'd backup my sd,... Format it. Then run a RUU so it unroots and goes back to stock state,... then see if it is working again or not.
I've been searching threads over as many forums I can find for DAYS. But still a no go..
I suppose I'll try to unroot it. I haven't finished researching the RUU's, does it matter which one I use?
Well apparently unrooting the phone doesn't reinstate the GPS or WiFi connectivity.... GPS still "unable to determine location" and the WiFi still SEES the WLAN networks in range but still cannot connect to any of them.
I can't seem to find anyone else who has had problems with WiFi connecting let alone wifi AND gps problems.
So I flashed the newest nightly of Synergy mod and everything was working good for the night was running on wifi looking stuff up and downloading apps and everything. When i woke up the next morning I turned wifi off for work because I work outside all day and having that feature on would be pointless, I got off work and back home and when I tried to turn it back on it would "turning on wifi" for a bit and then just give me "error". I've installed other roms and even restored back to BAMF 4.9 and im still getting the "error" message when I try and turn on wifi. Im guessing its a hardware issue and might just take it to verizon. Any suggestions??
Exact same problem for me, I even downloaded the original 'upgrade' PG05IMG from the original root guide and flashed that via bootloader, and still wifi is 'error' I have no idea what to do.
My WiFi originally had no issues when I was on the stock 2.3.6 ROM/Siyah. Then I got curious about ICS and installed Lite'ning ROM 2.2 Went through numerous issues with my apps, including the aforementioned WiFi issues before I decided to just quit for now and revert to my nandroid backup of GB.
Problem is, I still seem to have WiFi issues back on GB. Didn't use to be a problem before though. I wasn't able to make a backup of the DXKL1 modem, but I did reflash XXKL1 in an attempt to fix the issue upon reverting to GB. Didn't seem to help much though. I was going to try reverting to DXKL1, however the Multiupload download link is now broken, and no one seems to have a copy of it floating around.
WiFi won't automatically connect sometimes. And on my home network (WPA2-AES or TKIP, same issue), it has trouble connecting on occasion, looping from "Authenticating" to "Saved, secured with PSK" but oftentimes never actually establishing a connection successfully.
Any ideas would be appreciated. So would a backup of DXKL1, if that is in any way related. Thanks!
Try changing kernel .

I am having the same issue with ICS. And I'm sorry to say, the only fix I found until now is to go back to GB. KL1 also has some issues, and so I went even further back to KI4.
Good luck!

I had the same problem when trying to connect to my home wifi network. The phone was constantly connecting, authenticating, connecting, authenticating ...
Then I tried to connect without forcing an ip address and when it was connected I change the ip and put the one that interested me. I think it's an error in the original rom
Thing is, I'm back on GB and it seems to have "kept" the problem from my venture into ICS.
I'm currently on Siyah 2.6.14, which I've had no issues with in the past. The only thing I can see that remains different from pre-ICS nandroid is my modem, which is now XXKL1 when it used to be DXKL1.
Hope anyone can help solve this problem. I also wish my WiFi would automatically connect again.
Maby try a data / factory wipe
Yes full wipe and restore your original firmware .
Its not unusual for those that flashed ICS and then jumped back to GB to have varying problems .
....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .

full wipes and install rom from internal SD not external SD
Crap, hoped it wouldn't have to come to that. Didn't really want to since I'm now on CM9 with all my settings set up nicely. WiFi still having the same issues.
I take it nobody else has experienced these issues and solved them?
Hi all,
I've started to have an issue with my HTC One X+ where it won't automatically connect to (any) Wi-Fi.
If I then go to settings, Wi-Fi appears as 'Disconnected' but the slider button says 'On'.
If I try and turn it off, it wont turn off. Then 'settings' ends up hanging.
The only way around it is a reboot, but this happens every day now, seems to normally happen when I return home and expect it to drop 3G and connect up to my homes Wifi (as it always has done?).
I really don't want to do a factory reset... I can't say that I've changed anything to cause this...
Does anyone else have the same issue and have you been able to resolve it?
Thanks
I'm having the same problem, but for me I know it didn't start happening until after I did the update. Not sure how to fix either.
Are you both on stock ROM?
I had similar problem after OTA update from AT&T. It was worse than yours since I wasn't able to enable WIFI at all, it just stuck on the "turning on" state. I was able to fix the problem by re-flashing the boot.img following this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235248
Btw my phone is rooted but running the stock rom.
Hope this helps.

Yes I'm stock and locked right now because I have some problems I need to return the phone under warranty for, and I have the problem where it is just stuck trying to turn on. Thanks for the link, but until I switch this one under warranty I don't want to do any modifications to void the warranty. As soon as I get the new one I will be unlocking and rooting it immediately, not doing so is killing me right now.
Well just reboot in bootloader mode and flash the correspondent RUU. You know how to find the good version?
I recently am battling this wireless issue. Here's the timeline of what I did:
Rooted Samsung S3 LTE (aka i9305) with old bootloader 4.1.2. Firmware was XXBMD5. Wifi was perfect.
Flashed Agni kernel. (At this point, I wasnt paying attention if wifi was good as I was using mostly data.)
Flashed AMCHA v9 KitKat ROM. Updated the firmware to XXUFOI1 but still with old bootloader. (At this point, I did notice that wifi was spotty and was dropping more frequently.)
So now I notice that when I am near the router ie full wifi range, I get connected. No problem whatsoever, but if I move further like 3 meters, it drops, and I get "Authentication Error Occurred". Once dropped, if I try to reconnect, it would not get connected or prompt incorrect password.
I searched online and found its common among Samsung users. I have tried the steps as outlined in a thread.
1) Flashed stock rom with root.
2) Full wipe and factory reset.
3) disable power saving mode via *#0011#.
Still no joy. So I have saved a log. Basically, I started the log capture when I turned on the wifi within 2 meter range to the router and then walk away from the router and it got disconnected and then I walked back again. So I hope wireless experts can tell me whats going on with the attached log.
What I have not done:
Flash stock JB ROM via Odin. (Users have reported that it doesnt help so I did not try. as yet.)
Take apart the phone to check for loose screw in wifi module.
Thanks in advance.
