Okay so I just bought the G-Tab yesterday, rooting & flash install went fine. However I've noticed one thing & wondered if anyone else has the same problem. When my G-Tab is wirelessly tethered to my HTC Hero (CDMA) I noticed that flash will not play. However if connected to my wireless router at home, flash will play fine with no problems. So the question is, is flash playing dependent upon bandwidth? If so is there a way to circumvent this issue?
Wow thats new.. not sure why you are having that problem, which version of flash are you running. I tether my tablet with my motorola cliq (GSM) have never had any issues what so ever.. I just tethered my sister's Motorola Droid(Verizon) to my tablet and it works just the same the data connection was slower than T-Mobile but flash still worked.... what Rom and kernel are you using that might also be the problem

I'm running CM7 with kernel 2.6.29.6-CyanogenMod [email protected] #1.
Should I try running a different kernal & if so what would you suggest?

Is the a forum for the Motorola Cliq 2? I didn't see the it listed on the phone types area? Is there another name it's known by?

I just got this phone myself, and I'm hoping to see a section for it.
Are you having any issues with wifi calling. For some reason it will not stay connected for me. It will connect for a little bit then just randomly disconnects. My G2's wifi calling works perfectly so I'm wondering if it just doesn't work well on the Cliq 2 or if one of the built in connection manager apps is interfering with it. Anyone who had this issue please post and fixes you found. Thanks

I haven't used the Wifi calling just yet, but I had a similar problem with Navigator. Was in NYC, and was using it to get me around, and it just stopped working. It was losing the data connection, and it would just stop cold turkey. Sounds similar to your problem with Wifi calling. Probably data connection related.
This MotoBlur is bull****. My sister owns a Motorola Flipside, and the software on that blows. Had to do a number of things to get that phone working right. I'm hoping for some CM7 roms on both of these phones. So far, nobody cooked any yet. Makes me miss using my G1 phone, since it had a pretty nice setup with the abundance of custom roms available. Just a SIM card swap away.
Of course, the first thing needed is a section for the Cliq 2.
The c2 is still a redheaded stepchild at this point. There is some work starting now over at m3 but it would be really nice to see something going over here.
There's already a deblurred rom with some goodies included. Someone is working on porting CM6 and maybe eventually CM7.
That is correct over at m3 there are 2 roms and a custom recovery out at this point. Looks like some good things are starting to happen!

what version of z4root did you use for get rooted you cliq 2?
Just use OneClickRoot to root this phone. The latest version works fine. The Gingerbread release has a custom root that you'll need to apply. It's on ModmyMobile.com .
I have a T-Mobile G2 that has been rooted and it has a custom ROM loaded on it, I turn on the mobile wi-fi hot spot and have no problem connecting to it with my Prime but every time it connects it disconnects and I am unable to get online. I am running ICS on the tablet. It has no problem connecting to my wi-fi at home and work. It is unable to connect to my phone which is set as the mobile wi-fi hotspot has anyone else encountered this issue or can assist me with resolving this issue?
Ics broke the phone tethering. There are a couple threads in general that explain it better than i can and also have possible fixes
No I have a g2x running Baldwin's cm7 kang and hotspots works great on tp on ics.

So you are using a g2x hotspot and prime is connecting to it correct?
I also have no issues, HTC Inspire 4G Prime is ICS Stock.
I think the problem is with your custom rom -- check your custom rom page to see if others are having this error. Try connecting a different device to your phone, if you have one, and you will probably get the same problem.
The only thing that ICS "broke" was wired tethering and adhoc networks/tethering, as far as I know ... wireless tethering (where your phone is a wi-fi AP) is working fine. I am using it without issue. As a matter of fact, I am typing this on my Prime from AndroidAP (wi-fi AP) which is coming from my phone.

It broke Ad Hoc tethering. Those with the tethering cooked into their ROM or as part of their phone built in are having less issues. Many of those of us that use a tethering app - not in our ROMS or part of our phones - got boned by ICS when it changed this ad hoc protocol.
+1 working with samsung epic 4g with random rom

I had no problem connecting my N900 and my IBM T42p to my G2 hotspot mode. It may be time for a new rom regardless.
Tried wi-fi hotspot on my G2 and it magically is working now.... I did nothing differently but hey it works right meow!
So I see CM7 has been released for 2.3.4 on the DX2, but I see it says tethered. I know there is a difference between tethered and untethered. With the release for CM7 saying tethered, does that mean that everytime the phone dies or it is reset/shut-off you have to reapply the flash? Last time I tried to flash to this release I almost bricked my phone. Just afraid for it to happen again. Is this release worth the flash?
No, it's none of that stuff. It just means that it now supports tethering. It has a wireless hotspot app like verizons that you can use to tether your laptop, ipod, xoom or what have you to. It also supports usb tethering although I haven't tried it. The hotspot works great though.
In other words,,,, you can use your phone for internet access for whatever other devices you have if need be.
Ok so is this a stable ROM? Worth the flash?
Runs steady for me. Like all roms, it has it's own little quirks. Also, HDMI doesn't work on it. Don't know if that's a problem for you or not. Other than that, everything on it works great for me.
What about like Facebook sync and such?

Hi all. Ive ran into issues AFTER root an im wondering if any other canadian users or telus users have had it happen or have a solution. Heres the order of what i flashed and the issue it caused:
DAG ROOT : Wifi works at home but not at work...will connect but no data gets through.. I think its blocking wpa-tkip encryption which is what the network uses that im trying to connect to..
Cwm recovery: Installed fine no further issues. I tried to fix the wifi with the stock kernel...no luck.. Tried telus radio and it doesent install
then i flashed the DAG Root OC: caused startup FC's. Anyone experiencing anything similar or fixed any of these issues? Sent from my SGH-I717D using XDA
I can guess wifi issue is bcoz of gingerbread version, just deal with it for now.
Once in a while make reset ur wifi in phone.
Like SGS2, on early veraions of gingerbread used to give me hard time to connect public wifi, where you need to login for connection.
I just hope we get ICS soon, to make our Note perfectly nice all what this nice hardware deserve.

I know it is possible to tether android tablet to an android phone via bluetooth so the tablet can use phone internet. Is it possible to do the same with two android phones? I know it's doable over wi-fi, but bluetooth uses less battery.
in this specific case two phones in question are thunderbold and incredible. thunderbolt is rooted, incredible is not but I can root it if needed to make this work.
thank you

Finally I installed ICS on my incredible and paired both phones but still can't tether. any ideas?
I still need help with this.
I rooted my incredible, flashed ICS ROM and installed wifi tether 2.7, there is a bluetooth tether option there.
my thunderbolt has BAMF SoaB and bluetooth tether is greyed out in wifi tether app.
according to my research, it's a kernel issue, I need kernel that has "CONFIG_BT_BNEP". I tried flashing several different kernels with no success.
if anybody is successfully running bluetooth tether on their thunderbolt, please let me know which kernel you have installed.
thank you
on galaxy ace doesn't work :-??
This would be very nice if anyone could get this working.
I've had my Moto Xoom paired and using my phones internet via bluetooth many times, but I think it would be convenient to share by Droid 4's internet with my old D2 as well.
Has anyone had any luck with this besides using a WiFi hot spot and draining your battery in a couple hours?
