[Q] Camcorder issue? - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just got my Gtab this week and already love it... Big thanks to all the devs on this forum, you guys are great... I'm currently running g-harmony gingerbread 2.3.
An issue I have is that I can take pictures just fine but when I try to take video it records for maybe 5 seconds before the picture freezes and then I get Sorry! The application camera (process.com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Is there a fix for this? Also, I cant sync my Facebook account, but I'm less worried about that.

From reading the GE developer forum it seems to be a common problem with the camcorder/camera. I think it may be due to the lack of Nividia supporting hardware acceration (as of yet or ever).

[Q] FFC Inverted?

Not sure if this is the place to ask or not but I'm going to try....
and the search feature still is not working
"Sorry, search is temporarily unavailable. Please try again in 20-30 minutes."
Setup:
CM7-06152011 (RC0.6)
1.16.00.0223r
Kernel 2.6.35.13 CM/Slayher
I understand this is a "Pre-Alpha". I really don't understand why though. It runs freaking smooth, I've only found 2 bugs.
What I'm wondering is this....
I use QIK Video Chat with my wife
Wifey has HTC INC2 (Stock)
When we do the vchat it all works and looks great on my screen,
but on hers I'm flipped upside down. She sees herself just fine, im just flipped.
If I switch it to the main camera, its right-side-up and good.
Back to the Front-facing-camera, im upside down.
Now I've seen a setting that said something to the affect of "invert camera", but I cannot for the life of me find it. Is there a setting that anyone knows of?
Or is this just a known issue? I went back about 4 pages looking for threads but no luck. (and search is down)
It did work just fine when I was stock, so I know it has something to do with CM7....
Thanks for your help!

[Q] Compass on Gingerbread

I searched for discussions on this and couldn't find any. Sorry if I'm posting something that has already been discussed.
I have followed the saga of GPS on Gingerbread, and I tried out a couple of GB ROMs over the last couple of days and was thrilled to see GPS working!
Unfortunately, the compass, an important component when navigating, it seems is broken on all Gingerbread ROMs for the Vibrant, from what I hear.
What is preventing this from working? Is it another component that is completely blocked until we get a leak?
Thanks!
Bump.
No one knows?

As I mentioned, from what I understand, this is an issue with GB ROMs on our phones, similar to the GPS issue that was only just recently somewhat solved. I got that info from the dev of Revolution ROM.
Could someone please test it on the newsets GB ROMs/Kernels? I'm also wondering is it working correctly with CM/MIUI?
I'm almost 100% sure this isn't working in the latest nightlies of CM7. Viewed as a low priority in comparison to the 911 issue and other things.

Touch Screen Issue HTC Incredible & Custom Roms

Okay so this is my first post on XDA and I hope it's in the right section. Anyways I bought an HTC Incredible off a collegue of mine about two weeks ago. I got the phone and immediately rooted and installed a custom rom (MIUIv4 to be exact) I noticed after a lil while that the touch screen would randomly go berserk clicking things, calling people, etc (usually right after turning screen on) When the screen starts doing it I'd turn it off and back on and it would be completely fine. I thought to myself "maybe it's just a problem with MIUI and installed PONS CM7. I still had the same issue. Now whats strange about all of this is if I'm running an RUU or Stock based rom the screen NEVER acts up. I've read on several forums that this is a hardware issue but most people still experience it on stock roms, this is not the case with me. I won't deny that it could be a hardware issue, but it's an issue that can be solved with kerenl/dirvers/software. I'm wondering if I can use the drivers and software from a stock based rom to combat the issue and make custom roms run like they are supposed to. In all of my research I found this link which seems to be pretty promising but I don't know where to begin with it. Unfortuneately I can't post a link until I've posted 8 times, uuugh.
Edit: It seems the longer I run a custom rom the more frequently the issue happens.
If anybody is intrested in helping it would be greatly appreciated. I've been racking my head for over a week on this one. You can look up the blog I read on google. It looks like it could solve my problem.

video camara issue on atrix 4g using cm9

I installed cm9 on my atrix 4g, and the only issue that concern me is the video camera. I move it to the sides wile recording and it has a few seconds of lag. Ie, it takes few seconds to catch up with the camera movement. Any one having the same issue? Is there a camera that can be installed to correct this in the atrix 4g? I have searched all over the internet and still have no clues as of this. Thanks in advance...

I dont want to be a ***** but you didn't search enough because this is one of a few well known bugs that cm9/10 due to lack of drivers. Read the op of the rom you installed and follow it for what works for people.

Front facing camera crashes phone

Hey guys, i've been having some trouble lately with taking pictures on my front facing camera. I'm using the t-mobile variant of the samsung galaxy s3 (its actually from wind, but theyre the same). The last rom i had installed was cyanogenmod, and it was working fairly well, except every once in a while, when i took a picture or video from the front facing camera, the phone would crash immediately and reboot. I tested this with many different camera applications and they all had the same result. I decided that i would try a different rom to see if that was the issue, so i installed the latest version of Carbon. The problem persisted, and it even got worse. Now every time i take a photo using the front facing camera, the phone will crash and reboot instantly. I read around, and there appears to be some issues with snapchat and such, but i dont think that is my problem as this is occuring with every camera application i have. I have also checked out some other threads related to this issue, and some seem to have the same problem, with no real solution. Apparently a temporary fix seems to be clearing the application data, but even that doesn't work for me. If i could guess, i would say it has something to do with custom roms in general as i have seen no reports of a stock rom phone having this issue, or perhaps a gapps issue, but those are just some thoughts.
Some Info:
Model Number: SGH-T999
Android Version: 4.4.2
Carbon Version: CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140316-0304
I'd be happy to provide any extra info needed. Thanks so much guys, it would be great for me and all the others that have this issue if there's some way to fix this problem. I'll try to be as active as i can to provide any info or test any possible solution for everyone. It seems like a big problem for a lot of people.
I'd really appreciate any and all feedback. Sorry for the bump.
