I don't think you can record FM radio but if an Internet stream of the same station then you can use an app like Radio Rip (http://goo.gl/zTBTB) or V Radio Recorder (http://goo.gl/lMTvT). They both are quite costly, but Lite versions are available for both.
You can use Tunein Radio PRO
Still could use a Lib knowledge that are needed to the radio for Version 4.0.3 for Android badly needs. Thank you for sure because I am also a useful program for Recording music on the radio.
I'm looking for this too. I'm using CyanogenMod and the FM app's functions are so limited
You can use Spirit FM, it have that funtion.

Hello I live in Europe...and a friend is going to give me an htc s743 from USA...and i wonder if it is going to work 100% here in europe. Because i know that there are some differences at the frequency (hz) of the 3G or something.. I dont know what exactly is it...if someone can inform me it would be so nice
Also i know that the s743 has no FM radio...is there any way i can enable it?
thank you
I really want to know a way to enable the FM radio.I was told that my 3G will work only on GPRS but anyway...At leat i want to enable my radio...anyone any idea?
S743 does not support european 3G. It doesn;t have FM radio module. Read/search before posting, as answers are so close:

Nowhere I said the FM module HW isn't present in s743. With high probability is still there, just disabled. At least for HTC it's much cheaper as development of extra "disabled" chipset.
Look at Rhodium. The FM radio isn't officially supported by any version od ROM, but it's there and fully functional.

Well but dell haven.t release the radio driver so no one can make the fm radio works… it.ll be great if one day we can listen to radio on the streak XD
FM RADIO does work you have to turn on bluetooth, plug headset and launch the fm app... works perfect for me.
What app are you talking about here, could you please share the link of the apk
For the uninitiated, what does hacking the radio actually accomplish or allow? Is it just for FM radio stations, or are we talking about the cellular radio the phone uses to communicate with towers? Can it be reverse-engineered to change the frequencies the phone uses, for example to shoehorn 3g connectivity with another network?
this is a guide for teaching the basics of reverse engineering android, it uses the evo radio as an example.
Why are you all getting so hung up on the streak radio?
How about read the article and learn something maybe?
Yah, the tutorial is just a guide to how you can reverse engineer any Android application... and it just happens to use the radio app as a real world example of doing so. I really like the style of tutorial this person chose, IMO it's the best way to guide someone through how to do something like this.
Hello all,
I would like to know if anyone could confirm that spirit FM works on s2G on cm9 rom. From my side it doesnt just for confirmation im asking this question..
Regards.
An answer ?
i know that this phone has a FM receiver built in. The wifi chip is also supposed to just be for receiving, but we can do wifi tether. this makes me think it *may* be possible to transmit fm from the chip in the phone (from what i understand its built into the wifi chip). i know i can buy a fm transmitter, and i actually already have three of them, but it would be nice to not have any extra hardware if its not needed. i also know you can do bluetooth streaming and stuff, but it would be nice to stream through fm to devices that do not have bluetooth. so please dont tell me to go buy a real fm transmitter or do something else. if it is possible, please let me know. if not, just tell me that. thanks!
Not possible. It would be nice, but such is life

Also, there is another thread in this section regarding this. That thread is titled "fm transceiver"
haha. i am subscribed to this thread and i got the email notification on my phone. lol
It is possible. But no one has done it because no devs think it worth the effort. Personally I would love it, but not enough to learn to develope the necessary drivers.
Here's a link to a thread in the Evo 4g section regarding this topic.
There's some detailed info in there about antennas, fcc rules etc
Worth a read through if this topic interests you...
Edit: I guess it would help if I included the link lol

Someone try this and tell me if it works. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13379669 it kinda pricey for an app. But if it works it will be worth it. There is a link in the OP for a free version.

Hell it a receiver app, not a transmitter app. Sorry guys. But maybe he has the knowledge to do a transmitter app.
Do a play store app search for,"quick fm transmitter". It installs but doesnt work. It says the system is not supported. It does list the supported "sharp" systems. The good part is, the app is there; although it needs to be ported.
I also found that there are at least 6 HTC phones with the correct chip set. Those other phone users would also like an app for this.
Hi all,
First want to apologize on not having this on the firmware thread but I guess I've never posted enough and had to use this one. 2nd - I love the community teamwork I've seen over the years and I appreciate the great "think tank" work everyone has with each other.
So I just recently got my Samsung Note 20 sm-N981U1 (carrier unlocked) directly from Samsung. It's good but one feature that I believe is both carrier and firmware specific is the video calling feature and not to rely on DUO or any other 3rd party apps. Is it possible for someone to post it if they have/can get a copy? I tried contacting Samsung directly about it but after spending an hour in the chat they said "we don't have firmware available for users" which I thought was ironic.
Again many thanks in advance if someone has/could get this and post it.
You do know tmobile video calling is basically Duo baked into the dialer?
